Should Graham have laid down on the 5 on the Saints last TD?
 

Would have Allowed the Saints to burn more time leaving the Niners with nothing to work with. Thoughts?

Absolutely not. Anytime you have a chance to score a TD, you take it.

Same for alex smith he should of went down at the 5 .

Especially when you are down 5 points with just over a minute left.

I posted in the game thread that they scored too soon. No NFL player is ever going to lay down in that situation, but if they had, they would probably have won.

AND it took a team until what, week 17 to score a rushing TD against them?

It's sort of like a team pinned at their goal line deliberately taking a safety late in a game. The 2 points don't matter, are better than risking a fumble/block in the endzone, and the distance gained by the free kick all but guarantees victory. I've only seen that once, too. But it was a smart play.

There is absolutely no way that Graham should have laid down before scoring. THEY WERE LOSING THE GAME!

Touchdowns aren't guaranteed by any means, and the 49ers have one of the top defenses in the NFL.

If he lays down and they don't score, that is the worst decision in NFL history.

They needed a TD to win the game, what kind of bullshit question is that? If a FG would have been enough, then maybe the question would make sense, but not down 5.

If somebody should have done something, I'd talk about the guy who was supposed to tackle Gore and cover Davis.

If they were down by less than a FG yes, but being down by 5, no way. You need to take the score.

Never turn down a chance to score.
