Manning healing too fast?

Mort on Espn was talking about Manning like he is regaining his arm strength really quick now. He is working out 4/5 days a week and is even wearing pads. Also claims that source is not from Manning camp.

now he's talking like there is a chance that colts might even pay the bonus and keep him.

:cuss:

even if the colts don't keep him it will drive the price up for him.

Crush 03-04-2012 01:11 PM

Irsay has already burned the bridge. He's gone.

bevischief 03-04-2012 01:15 PM

Like I have been saying...

RealSNR 03-04-2012 01:17 PM

Peyton's a colt. He needs wide open spaces to roam free.

Hammock Parties 03-04-2012 01:21 PM

Peyton's not going back to Indy. He wants to **** them up for their betrayal. Besides, why would he play behind that shit line.

Okie_Apparition 03-04-2012 01:25 PM

Irsay & Peyton, A war of attention whores
All the internet should know how this ends

Chiefs Pantalones 03-04-2012 01:29 PM

I really think this is all a waste of time, KC is not in his sight and Pioli is married to Cassel. Manning, RG3...both a pipe dream.

Epic Fail 007 03-04-2012 01:29 PM

no way they will invest over 50 mil just in the qb position

Why not? Irsay has been doing that with Manning alone since they drafted him. So now it'll be split between two QBs.

Epic Fail 007 03-04-2012 01:33 PM

manning will be released watch ,they are are already divorced it just needs to be fanalized.

milkman 03-04-2012 01:38 PM

I was listening to an interview with a former basketball player (can't remember who) who apparently had the same issue as Manning.

He said that he went for months with seemingly no improvement, then suddenly it regenerated at an incredible rate.

Sounds like this is where Manning is at in his recuperation now.

Ok fair point but why would peyton want to stay in a rebuilding situation? I mean they are years away. He wants another sb he sure is not going to get it with the colts anytime soon. Whether its here or some other team I think he will be elsewhere in 2012.

Would you sign him? I know how you felt about Montana. Same thing? I don't think it matters anyway as Cassel is Pioli's lover.

They are not paying the roster bonus, and if Peyton feels he healthy he's not going to restructure with them. He wants to stick it to Irsay.
That only leaves a cpl options for him, and we are indeed one of them.

My problem with Montana wasn't the trade for Montana, if and of itself.

It was the fact that Carl made no real attmept to address the position long term.

Monatana gave the Chiefs a 2 year window, and that was shortsighted on Carl's part.

I knew the moment the trade was consumated that in 3 years or fewer, we'd be back to signing scrubs and rejects to fill the position.

KurtCobain 03-04-2012 01:53 PM

I seriously doubt Manning wants to stay in Indy.

The Colts aren't winning anything anytime soon.

I don't think Manning is looking for a HUGE contract.

Surely he'd want to go someplace where he can win now.

No I don't believe in the vote of confidence. I'm just going with the flow and the flow doesn't lead to a Cassel-less Chiefs at the moment. As with everything, actions will show us what's up in a week.

There's a thread started by DeetzNut about this.

In that thread, I am clear on this.

If Pioli signs Manning, and drafts a QB in the first round to prepare for the future, I am fully on board, even though I still believe Manning is a playoff choker.

But it must be done then.

What if the Chiefs don't have a shot at a QB in the 1st?

After Tannehill, no other QB is worthy of a 1st rd pick.

Tannehill isn't worth trading up for.

Mojo Jojo 03-04-2012 02:38 PM

Just a general observation/question...Payton wants to go to a team that will also bring in Reggie Wayne...how do the Chiefs respond to that request? They franchised a WR for 2012...used their #1 pick in 2011 on a WR and brought in a good WR in free agency in 2011. Where would Wayne fit and how much money are the Chiefs going to put into WR?

O.city 03-04-2012 02:40 PM

If Wayne wants to take a pay cut to come here fine.

whoman69 03-04-2012 02:59 PM

If you're the Colts, do you sign Manning knowing that it could cost you Luck. If I'm Luck and ready to play now, I demand a trade to a team that will play me. I would rather sit out than delay my career by 3-4 years.

Not if they think they have already made a better offer than Bowe is going to receive in free agency. They might think he needs to realize that he is asking way too much and the only way that happens is if he going to other teams and gets a similar offer to what the Chiefs have offered.

Possibly.

I'd think you would tag one though before they can get to free agency, just to make sure you still have one next year.

They have both Bowe and Carr unsigned and will probably lose Carr. Sounds like strike one to me. Strike 2 will be if we can't get a QB better than Henne to come in for competition. To me that strike would be a firing offense added onto hiring the wrong coach and getting your first draft pick so off.

SI's Peter King reports Peyton Manning would like to be a part of a "package deal" with free agent Reggie Wayne.
King says Manning would "love" to see the pairing happen, while Wayne is "very interested in the combo platter." According to King, "at least" two potential suitors are already open to the idea. King believes the Dolphins, Jets, Seahawks, Redskins and Cardinals would all be open to the arrangement in some form. Noted for the nearly telepathic connection he likes to cultivate with his receivers, the move would be a boon for Manning, but it's possible Wayne's demands in free agency could spoil the party.

How big would this play for Payton if money is close and one team would sign Wayne and the other wont. Ross wants Manning real bad...I think he would be willing to do this in Miami.

Hmmm. I wonder how much the fact that the #1 pick is for sale would decrease the value of the #2 pick which will surely be auctioned off.

well it would give bidders another option to play against the rams but it really wouldn't increase the number of QB's available because Manning would be off the market.

as soon the #1 pick went off the board the price would go right back up though
