I anticipate Branch being gone long before 74. He's been talked about as a late first rounder recently

I would like to add another RB eventually. Not too big of a deal though..

Hoo boy... where to start.

1. We're not doing the whole thing on Brockers again, but blech.

2. Harrison Smith's more of a strong, isn't he?

3. Ta'amu at 50 is a dream's dream. Hope it comes true.

4. Branch will not last that long. As it is, he's a borderline first round talent.

5. I love Green and Bethel, but wonder if either will last that long.

6. Who the **** is that Montana kid you keep drafting? Tell us about him.

Houston last year was supposed to be a late first rounder too, just sayin...

1. Brockers is elite. Get over it.
2. Harrison Smith can play either, imo. And in the opinion of NFL.com
3. Many mocks have Ta'amu falling to the third
4. Branch has a late second, early third grade nearly everywhere I've looked.
5. Green and Bethel are wildcards. I expect they have varying grades all around the league.

Elvis Akpla - 6'1 190 lbs, 4.4 speed
Initially, he went to Oregon on a Track Scholarship but when he couldn't play football (because his scholarship would have counted against the football program) he transferred to Montana State.

This kid made critical, clutch plays every game for Montana State. He plays fast, runs good routes and has sure hands. He also plays much taller than he is, has terrific body control and adjusts to the ball well in the air. He could improve his YAC. He is also a capable blocker and special teams defender.

He clowned Trumaine Johnson when he played Montana the whole game for six catches and 113 yards including Montana State's only touchdown. That's 113 yards of the 171 yards passing in that game (U of M has a tough defense.)

Akpla made a ridiculous catch against Sam Houston, which is depicted below.

He also made a ridiculous catch from a punter that I recall quite vividly. It is at 6:20 below. Though, the whole film is worth watching.

Dude is sick. I'd almost rather draft him with our #1 than Brockers. At least he made plays while in college. Brockers is well meh...

Because god forbid we actually draft guys who are proven players, not improven "high potential" guys!??

Brockers could turn out to be Suh in a couple of years, or he could be Ryan Sims. You don't know, and as such, you sure as hell don't waste the 11th pick in the entire draft based on magical thinking.

I figure Coples falling to 11 would provide the Bears incentive to jump ahead of the Seahawks. He is physically very similar to Peppers and could provide a secondary pass rush threat.

Are you only saying he's physically similar to Peppers because they went to the same school?

Peppers: 6'7" 287 lbs 4.74 40, 22 reps
Coples: 6'6" 284 lbs 4.78 40, 25 reps

Both possess elite athleticism and size. Peppers could potentially mentor Coples in his play style and CLEARLY Coples would fit the Bears scheme.

Hell of a mock. Not sure I'm sold on Brockers at 19, but the next four selections all get the "thumbs up".

I think Brockers makes a lot of sense and has the highest ceiling. I'm just too impatient as a fan to like that pick. I want a day 1 starter

I have adjusted player values based on more recent research. You will notice that I I had to push Brockers and Branch up in my mock to reflect my more recent research. I like them as players irrespective of where they are projected to be drafted. Minnifield has been sliding down draft boards due to his inability to work out. He could be a steal in the fourth. Marc Tyler is someone who obviously has character/work ethic question marks. This is the Chiefs' character project for the year.

Call me crazy, but I would love to see the Chiefs make a move for an extra fifth round pick in this scenario and take BJ Coleman. Then cut Cassel and Quinn and make Stanzi, Wilson and Coleman all openly compete for the job. Maybe we could shake out a winner.

One week out and a new scenario:
Chiefs trade 11 and 107 to the Bengals for 17 and 53. Bengals presumably want Reiff before Seattle pounces.
