Week One Dog

The Chiefs have opened as an one-point home team underdog to the Falcons.

I would say that initially Vegas agrees with the CP members who are not scared of the amazing Falcons.

Vegas will make a killing off this game because of this line of thinking:

Vegas bettor "wow the Falcons favored by only 1 point against a 7-9 team that won three games at home last season. Count me in on that."

Oddsmakers "stupid bettors don't realize the Chiefs won 7 games without three of their top players and the best of their bad QBs missed much of the season."

Hammock Parties 04-17-2012 10:31 PM

The Chiefs were fully healthy when the Bills walked into Arrowhead and started smacking us around from the opening snap last year.

We're a ****ing shit team.

Except the fact that Berry, the guy who would have been most responsible for preventing the TE from going off didn't play.

Btw it is completely insane that Denver is second favorite to win the Super Bowl at 7/1 behind only GB at 5/1.

And yet the Bills went right down the field on us with Berry playing every snap.

Amazing what happens when you have:

1. A QB who has won a SB and been to multiple SBs.

2. A HC who has been to the SB.

We have a QB who has never won a playoff game and a HC who has had one winning season in his entire career.

I think you meant a QB who was the QB of a team that finally decided to play defense during that playoff season they won the Super Bowl. Manning's playoff failures greatly outnumber his successes.

Just stop.

Chan had every reason, a small bit of inside info, and some super-****-you-supreme-hate heading into that game.

Chan was not going to lose to Haley.

Chan hated Haley like Marty hated the Raiders...

HEY I CAN DO THIS 2!

The Chiefs were injured when the undefeated Packers walked into Arrowhead and got their shit smacked around.

ROFL How does it feel knowing that no one takes you seriously?

Lol stop what? What did I say that was not accurate? He said we were fully healthy when the Bills beat us. I pointed out the fact that we were not because Berry played two snaps. We still lose that game with him but not in such embarrassing fashion as what did happen. Losing such an important player surely has an effect on your defense, especially when you did not get to prepare for it in advance.

Faaaaaaaaaaaak! Now I have to communicate with mother****ers on the damned telegraph.

Chan Gailey has taken QB's who didn't even deserve to be in the league to the cusp of the SB.

STOP

He took guys like Slash, our old 3rd-string-rag-armed-QB, and some no-namer in Buffalo and every year convinced the league these guys were legit starters.

STOP

So this guy is fired by a golfer who's never played a down despite the fact he'd already polished turds on the same team and made a miserable season at least watchable the year before.

STOP

THIS IS WHY WE COULDN'T BEAT AN INFERIOR TEAM....

Again tell me what I said that was not accurate? You are arguing with yourself. In my post (the part you conveniently left out) I said we still lose that game with Berry in, except I think it is less embarrassing, maybe a 14 or 17 point loss. You say stop, I say stop what because you are not even remotely addressing what has been said. Unless you debate the fact that we were not healthy against the Bills?

Let me say it one more time so you can try to understand, okay? He said we were "fully healthy" against the Bills. I just wanted to correct him by pointing out that Berry played two snaps, thus leaving us not completely healthy which also left us even more vulnerable than we already were because of Chan's superior game plan. I also a knowledged we lose that game with Berry playing the whole game. Is it really that hard?

Simply Red 04-17-2012 11:36 PM

oh boy, i can't wait for this one.

Yes, because that is a clear indicator of how things will go this year.

Frosty 04-18-2012 08:27 AM

FWIW, the Falcons have lost their first road game each of the last four seasons. However, the games were at TB, NE, Pittsburgh and Chicago so I don't know if it means much.

That said, I'm not sure Atlanta will be a better team next year. They lost Weems and Lofton and don't pick until the late 2nd in the draft. Their defense wasn't very good last year and trading Lofton for Tatupu is a wash at best (probably a downgrade).

Ryan is a better QB than Cassel, though, so I can see how they would be favored despite their past opening road woes.
