Chiefs moving up to #3 for Kalil?

Russ Lande from the Sporting News has KC at the top of his list.

No way :shake:

First off Pioli would have to see BA as an utter failure and we are desperate for a LT. We are not.

ILChief 04-26-2012 08:36 AM

If we move up it should be for a QB

Chiefshrink 04-26-2012 08:41 AM

To move up 8 spots would cost us a fortune for a LT that is mediocre compared to Jake Long, Joe Thomas and the Jets LT.

Kalil is elite for this yrs class of LTs but not in the elite class of previously mentioned LTs in the last 10yrs. He is a B- grade compared to these other guys and not worth losing picks for IMO.

the Talking Can 04-26-2012 08:43 AM

i don't see the chiefs mentioned on that page

Who could really get pissed at an O line of:

Kalil (22 y/o)
Albert (27 y/o)
Hudson (22 y/o)
Asamoah (23 y/o)
Winston (28 y/o)

That is a young, solid line with good balance.
All we would need is a QB for the next five years.

I'd love it. However, plenty of people around here would be pissed. I would love to see that line in KC.

htismaqe 04-26-2012 09:08 AM

Except for the tiny bit of fact that you're missing:

Albert is in a contract year. If you move him to guard, you best be prepared to replace him immediately after the 2012 season ends.

Somebody will pay him LT money.

the Talking Can 04-26-2012 09:10 AM

ALBERT IS NOT EVER GOING TO BE A ****ING GUARD FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS ****ING HOLY PEOPLE SAYING IT 1000000000000000000 TIMES WILL NEVER EVER MAKE IT ****ING TRUE JESUS H ****ING CHRIST

Mr. Laz 04-26-2012 09:12 AM

John Clayton just said that the Chiefs are his sleeping team to make a big impact in round 1.

trade down or up

i hope they move him now just so we can watch your head explode.

any chance we can get a webcam setup?

Micjones 04-26-2012 09:16 AM

This line would be just as good if we stood pat at 11 and took DeCastro.
No thanks.

Chiefnj2 04-26-2012 09:18 AM

Willing to make a move for an OL, but not a franchise QB? Sounds like KC to me.

This line would be just as good if we stood pat, passed on DeCastro, and took Ben Jones or David Molk to play center later in the draft and let Rodney Hudson stay at guard.

Or we could move Hudson to center, and take Keneche Osemele or Kevin Zeitler.

taking a guard at #11 is just sheer ****ing stupidity.

I will kick a puppy if this happens...

Bewbies 04-26-2012 10:19 AM

Our line is AWESOME now!! Our QB still sucks the shit out of the goats ass.

Hooray for 6-8 wins.

Dayze 04-26-2012 10:22 AM

Awesome. We'd have the best offensive line sitting at home in the first round of the playoffs. Sweet

buddha 04-26-2012 11:01 AM

Yes, because we all know that all of KC's problems are because of Cassell.

Albert and Lilja are the real problems in KC. Fix them and Cassel would be all world.

Brock 04-26-2012 11:41 AM

LMAO Yeah, sure.

Nope. Cassel isn't the problem. The fact that the o-line got a lot better and the defense improved because they weren't on the field all day under Orton is completely irrelevant.

Why the hell would you do that when you could just stay right where you are and have a better line that doesn't require players to switch positions, that costs nothing extra and have :

Albert
DeCastro
Hudson
Asamoah
Winston

?

Makes no sense at all. Whoever proposed the Chiefs moving up to #3 for a freaking LT is an idiot.

Chris Meck 04-26-2012 11:46 AM

This is not going to happen.

Munson 04-26-2012 11:47 AM

No way Pioli trades up that far unless the impossible happens and RGIII falls past the Redskins.

If Kalil fell to 11 I'd have no problems taking him but no way do you move up that much

Because Albert is in his final year of his contract. He may be asking an exuberant amount of money and the Chiefs believe they can get a better fit at LT for less money. I'm not saying I agree, but I can understand the philosphy of thinking ahead.

I can understand it if he was picked at 11. I wouldnt like it, but i'd understand it. But trading up to 3 to do it makes no sense at all.

I agree, but if they think he's a better fit for our offense and a better overall player, than I can see that line of thinking.

BigChiefFan 04-26-2012 12:19 PM

All that being said, give up the farm for Andrew Luck, if we are willing to trade up that high.

I don't see it as an upgrade to:
Albert
De Castro
Hudson
Asamoah
Winston

We could have that now without giving up picks. I just think the media thinks that Chiefs are that pedestrian. We are picked to get an OT every year in every mock.

Why trade away pick when you could basically accomplish the same thing by either drafting DeCastro in the first or a center like Kontz in the second.

They better hope that's the case then because if you take a LT at #11, Albert WILL be gone next year, no matter what kind of money he might have asked for.
