prolly the only tennis fan on the board...
but Kudo's to you Serena...
Great comeback. Winning Wimbleton at 32 is not an easy thing to do. |
Serena is amazing and no one really gives a **** lol
|
I used to watch tennis a lot back when we had Agassi and Sampras

Thunder Thighs wins another. Hope Federer takes care of business tomorrow
|
I only watch tennis when its two hot women "grunting" as they hit the ball. Otherwise, its unwatchable.
|
Tennis is a great sport to watch.
& Serena is one of the All time greats Hope I get to Wembley before she hangs it up |
Wow, that is impressive. What a great athlete.
|
Tennis might be the only sport where its more entertaining watching the women than the men.

Federer-Murray should be a good one tomorrow. There's a lot at stake for both players. |

I remember dressing like Serena Williams for Halloween one year.
My buddy was Venus. We looked good for being white. |
God I hope Federer loses.

Tennis, at least it's not soccer.

I came into this thread to express my vehement irritation with the use of the abbreviation "prolly."
Carry on. |
He should be winning most matches even at his age.. Serena and her brother are dudes..
And when they **** are the women going to start going 3/5.. They have had equal pay for a while, make them winning win 3 matches.. |

Did you see Nadal's match against Rosol last week? The guy acted like a spoiled child, complaining to umpires and even intentionally bumping the guy on the changeover. I know he was frustrated that he was about to lose to some no-name who was locked in, but there is no reason to act like that ever. |
Yeah, it was a while ago. I just never got over it. And Djokovic did feign injury almost every match a while ago. He would start losing, then call for the trainer. Sometimes, instead of taking the loss, he'd just quit the match.
I missed the Nadal match. |

I used to love tennis and boxing. Now neither one does much for me. The personalities are gone.

Tennis is alright. I enjoy watching the Williams sisters. The sport needs a new McEnroe though.

Agassi,Sampras,Chang,Daveport,Seles,Hingis enjoyed it then Serena seems to be getting more and more attitude, so i like her less and less. |
ive played tennis my entire life and grew up on sampras and agassi, so not having any americans in the sport worth a damn its so hard to care much anymore.
|
I'm rooting for the Brit just because the Olympics start in London soon and they won't win squat.

I happen to believe that both tennis and hockey are vastly underrated by Americans as spectator sports. Both are fast and very highlight-friendly. I'll be on the road today, so I'll miss the men's final, but I hope Federer pulls through.

Federer's unforced errors keeping Murray in the match
|
Federer gives away the first set 6-4
|
excellent
|
when the hell did NBC stop covering Wimbledon? Is there a stream anywhere online to watch this?
|
Espn or Wimbledon.com
|
I couldn't find anything but live radio on Wimbledon.com. Thankfully, espn3 has it.
|
Is Federer trying to lose?
|
I hate serena. I will never root for her.

This has been a pretty awesome match so far.

Whoa When did they put a roof on centre court?
|
Does John just wad up his suits into a suitcase? His suits always look like wrinkled crap.
|
I think they said they've only used it 4 times. Did anyone else hear that?

On the subject of ESPN3. Why do they seem to let you watch practically all major events on it but not MNF?

I think Murray, when he's playing his best, is better than Federer's current best. The question is whether he can hold his nerves over the course of an entire match. He's never done it before at this stage. |

Federer hasn't lost before the QFs in a slam since the 2004 FO in the 3R. Ridiculous streak actually. Nadal's last time before Rosol here was the 2009 FO loss to Soderling in the 4th round. Djokovic's last early loss was the 2009 FO in the 3rd round. Even Murray, the least consistent among them, hasn't lost early since the 2010 USO in the 3rd.
|
She was also injured, iirc.
|
Federer finally breaks his ass
|
What a game. What effort from both of them. Federer comes out on top...I wonder if that will demoralize him.

Murray in trouble
|
Ridiculous shot to take the break there. He went behind Murray. Not looking good, Andy. Federer has seemingly entered his god-mode.
|
Federer is still really good at tennis, guys.
