NFL Game Rewind

My subscription renewed today! Don't live in the KC market so gotta get my Chiefs games the hard way on occasion. Anyone buy Game Rewind as well?

Quesadilla Joe 08-02-2012 12:15 PM

I buy NFL Preseason Live. It's only 20 bucks for all the preseason games.

I like it. You can watch the game live or two weeks later. I watched most of the preseason games two or three times last year. 20 bucks is a good deal to me.

During the regular season I plan on getting Sunday Ticket on my PS3 again. Not sure if they will have it for sure though.

Because it's cheap and more reliable than free streams. Stream hunting got old real fast. Especially when you would have to have two or three separate streams just in case the NFL shut the one you were watching down.

LMAO great investment. I wouldn't pay $.20 for that.

Preseason games are garbage.

There were very few times I needed one but they were reliable.

I have NFLST, but I just stream the preseason games while they're live and wait until they come on NFL Network and watch them a second time.

Just stream it online and then wait for it to come on NFL Network. Do you have Directv? If not that would explain your actions.

Nope I have cable. I know of a bunch of stream sites that are pretty reliable but the quality isn't as good as the Preseason Live stream.

Can you download the games or are they just streamed? We live in the sticks and, on the best days, our internet is about 640K, which normally isn't fast enough to stream video.

I'm not sure which one you are talking about but you can't download the games from Preseason Live, not sure about Game Rewind.

ToxSocks 08-02-2012 01:29 PM

Hrmmm.....I might pay the $20 to watch the preseason games live.

But then again, a "free" stream would probably be a better (and easier) alternative.

It looks good on PC. You can tell its a stream, but its much better quality than most of the free streams that are out there.

If I could, would gladly pay the 20 to have reliable preseason stream....unfortunately not available in Mexico.

You can't rewatch a free stream. You can do that with Preseason Live.

We are excited to announce that PlayStation has partnered with DIRECTV to bring its popular sports subscription service, NFL SUNDAY TICKET, to the PlayStation 3 game console. PlayStation owners across the country will now have the opportunity to watch every out-of-market Sunday game on their PS3.

Game Rewind comes streamed and based on network speed it will show in accordance. 640k should get you a somewhat decent but pixelated stream I imagine.

Yeah that was from last year. I sent them a tweet three or four weeks ago asking about Sunday Ticket for the PS3 and they said "Updates for 2012 will be available closer to the start of the season"

$340 seems like a high price.

RUSH 08-02-2012 01:53 PM

Pretty sure they give you the option to watch the games in all32/coaches cam format this year.

I'm a cable subscriber and out of market so i will be buying it this year.

Yeah I'm hoping that since DTV dropped the price to $200 for Sunday Ticket on the dish that this price drops a bit for the PS3 too.

The quality is outstanding though. They had a lot of problems week 1 last year and gave customers a refund for that week. But other than that it was flawless. You couldn't even tell you were watching a stream on the PS3.

My only gripe about it was the rewinding and fast forwarding wasn't very good.

Thanks. We are getting fiber brought into our "rural area" as I type so I am hoping for faster internet someday. I don't care about watching the game "live" (I DVR all games I watch to skip commercials, stupid zebra conferences, hlaftime dumbassery, etc) so I always thought Rewind would work great, at a quarter of the ST price.

CoMoChief 08-02-2012 02:35 PM

This is just personal opinion....I wouldn't pay $20 to even go see 4 live preseason games. (considering parking paid for)

Just an update, I bought it yesterday and cannot stop watching games. The coaches film is incredible and allows you see things that you would never be able to. I've always followed football but never got too deep into the game and felt I didn't have a great grasp of the small details. I feel like I've learned a ton since yesterday.

I've been watching some Chiefs games and I also like to watch guys that I rarely got to see last year like Newton, Stafford, etc. If you're a football geek then I HIGHLY recommend it. Get the season plus for the coaches film feature.

For your time, here's this gem. Result of the play was a sack.

I don't live in the TV market either.
So I got my ass in the Chief truck yesterday afternoon, went and picked up my son in Iowa City and drove to the game :)

No excuses! Gotta see the Chiefs.

That's awesome. I think it's the best investment for watching Chiefs games out of market for ~$20-$80, depending on what you buy. I recently got NFL network added to my Cox TV bundle for free because I told them I was wanting to go with Dish Network and Vonage, however the Chiefs game still wasnt on here in OK City. So I will be literally glued onto game rewind to watch last nights game.

Same here. Nearly flawless feed and I get to watch it live. I was hesitant, but knew I made the right decision to purchase less than 5 minutes in...

Quesadilla Joe 08-11-2012 08:51 AM

One of the best parts of Preseason Live to me is being able to rewatch the condensed version of the game with all the commercial breaks and huddles taken out. You get to watch a full game with all of the plays in 30 minutes. Pretty cool.

Game rewind has the same feature as well. Really cool.

prhom 08-11-2012 09:07 AM

I bought the rewind this year, but am pretty bummed they haven't released the iPad app yet. They have it for preseason live, and if you live outside of Mexico and the USA you can watch the entire season that way. Why not just release the app for rewind already?

My laptop has a HDMI port so I just plug my HDMI cord from my TV into my computer and watch it on my flat screen.

If your computer doesn't have that capability then yes on the computer is the only option until they come out with the app so you can watch it on a tablet.

I don't know.

I don't see why you wouldn't be able to since all you do to watch is go to nfl.com, but I would research that first if I were you before you purchase.

On my DirecTV guide, it shows the Cards/Chiefs game on Wednesday at 12 am (Pacific). The following week, it shows the Rams/Chiefs preseason at 10am on the following Monday.

I decided I didn't want to wait and broke down and spent the 20 bucks to get NFL Preseason Live and watched the game this morning. :thumb: I have slow internet so had to watch it on the 400K feed but it was fine (and better than waiting until Wednesday to watch it).

I linked to the free stream of the game linked here on CP last night and did the download only to find a major piece of malware was placed on it. So my computer would not boot today. Took it to the Geek Squad this morning and they confirmed the malware. I'm on my backup laptop at the moment, but this is a warning for those using free stream sites. Better to pay the $20 bucks than lose 4 days of your computer and trips to Best Buy.

When finding live streams online, always remember...

Be very very very careful on which links you click on those sites. You should not have to download and install anything to watch those streams. Provided you can watch Youtube videos, there is nothing you should need to download. Those sites often have lots of links for ads and other sites. That's where the malware comes from. If it's asking you to download and install something, you done ****ed up. Lots of those links are purposely made to fool you into thinking you're clicking on the stream, when it doesn't have anything to do with the actual stream. Be careful of those links. Understand that they're intentionally trying to fool you into installing stuff. Never install anything to watch streams.

Also, don't browse streaming type sites unless you have malware protection installed and running. I cannot stress enough how well Malwarebytes Pro works for this. Buy it! This $25 product would have prevented this incident.

Also, don't ever take your computer to Geek Squad. They are buffoons who are only good at charging exorbitant prices for shitty service. I wouldn't recommend Geek Squad to anyone. Ever. And if they actually told you 4 days, you should go back and promptly burn down the building.
