Rangers @ Royals 8/04

Scott Feldman, 5-6, 4.76 ERA vs. Will Smith, 2-3, 5.94 ERA

Let's see if the Fresh Prince can have another quality start tonight. Many cheers for no Frenchy or Yuni in the lineup either.

For those of you out of market, this is the free game of the day on MLB.TV

New first base coach. I'm stoaked

Smith's curveball is working today. Look out, Rangers.

It has been working really well for him ever since he came back up. He might be one of those guys that felt like he had "made it" when he came up the first time. Being sent down was probably a reality check for him in that he has to bring his best every day and every pitch in the ML.

Nightfyre 08-04-2012 04:19 PM

I think Smith could be a number 3/4 type guy with that bat-misser in his arsenal now. That curveball has two plane movement that fools both lefties and righties.

Nightfyre 08-04-2012 04:19 PM

Also - is MLB.tv's stream sucking for anyone else?

Chiefshrink 08-04-2012 04:20 PM

Any potential future George Bretts' in the farm system to look forward to?? Used to be a die hard follower from '69 to Brett's retirement. Seems when Glass bought the team it became a 'red light special operation'

Nightfyre 08-04-2012 04:24 PM

The talent on this roster has a very good chance to produce a hall-of-famer or two, imo. Which one specifically it will be is far too early to say.

CaliforniaChief 08-04-2012 04:32 PM

Smith has really come back as a different pitcher. He looks pretty good.

CaliforniaChief 08-04-2012 04:39 PM

Ya know even when Salvy grounds out to 3B I see good things.

He took forever to get into the batter's box and took a few pitches to give W. Smith some time, and to work Feldman a bit.

It's not much, but it's something.

Royals seem to have several players that have good baseball sense.

It's the little things that make all the difference:thumb:

does he have a good straight change ?

Nightfyre 08-04-2012 04:48 PM

The Rangers are hitting good pitches right now. Extremely bad luck for Agent Smith.

stonedstooge 08-04-2012 04:48 PM

What the hell is Hamilton doing out there? He stoned?

kstater 08-04-2012 04:48 PM

Just like Esky drew it up

Nightfyre 08-04-2012 04:49 PM

Yea! **** you Texas.

He has a nothing-special changeup.

CaliforniaChief 08-04-2012 04:51 PM

Rusty Kuntz is rubbing off....on Texas.

Ceej 08-04-2012 04:55 PM

**** YEAH!!

We won't be no hit by Corey Feldman's brother.

I just turned it on, and yes. It's real jittery. One hell of an advertisement to people like me who are considering buying it...

stonedstooge 08-04-2012 05:03 PM

Hosmer gets handcuffed like Alcides did in the last inning

Nightfyre 08-04-2012 05:21 PM

Interesting that DM is responsible for bringing the two best shortstops in the league into his organizations

Frenchy and Yuni?

stonedstooge 08-04-2012 05:28 PM

Come on, lets score a few

stonedstooge 08-04-2012 05:31 PM

Getz grounds out with Perez scoring. 3-1

stonedstooge 08-04-2012 05:31 PM

DeezDyson slaps another single to left. Runners 1st and 3rd, one out

Ceej 08-04-2012 05:32 PM

Man, Dyson has been playing extremely well.

stonedstooge 08-04-2012 05:33 PM

Gordon grounds out with Hosmer scoring. 3-2

I'm not sold on the guy yet. But if he can keep this up and Myers is EVER called up Dyson will be a suitable OF bench guy.

He's got the slapshot to left down right now. But opposing pitchers will adjust

Ceej 08-04-2012 05:45 PM

I'm really surprised Eiland didn't go out and visit with Smith after he got squeezed and showed some emotion on the mound.

Once again, one batter too late..

stonedstooge 08-04-2012 05:48 PM

Good effort by Smith tonight. Really couldn't ask much more from him, especially when the home plate ump basically cut off the bottom 15% of the strike zone

Nightfyre 08-04-2012 05:51 PM

If the ump won't give you corners, you have to expect contact. Some of the hits the Rangers got were also on really good pitches and they just threw the bat out there and got lucky. Good outing by Smith, according to my eyes.

Ceej 08-04-2012 05:56 PM

Moose has Frenchy-itis.

Serious slumpage.

TLO 08-04-2012 06:14 PM

In late hoping for a comeback win. Even though I swore I was giving this team up after July 31st

stonedstooge 08-04-2012 06:21 PM

Running out of chances fellas. Need to score here

TLO 08-04-2012 06:26 PM

Frenchy still has a better average than Hosmer. That makes me want to vomit.

Nightfyre 08-04-2012 06:26 PM

Hosmer is redeemable. frenchy is not. Hosmer also takes walks.

Oh you'll get no argument from me about that. In no way am I suggesting that Frenchy is better than Hos. I just wish Hosmer was hitting better.

Ceej 08-04-2012 06:31 PM

Great job, Billy.

Nightfyre 08-04-2012 06:37 PM

This umpire's strikezone looks like bullshit to me. Where was that website that analyzes the ump's performance?

Nightfyre 08-04-2012 06:43 PM

Ridiculous play by Dyson.

stonedstooge 08-04-2012 06:44 PM

Dyson bails out Jeffress. Last chance

Nightfyre 08-04-2012 06:47 PM

Moose with a great bit of hitting there.

stonedstooge 08-04-2012 06:47 PM

Moose opens with a single

stonedstooge 08-04-2012 06:49 PM

Why are the fans cheering the Royals hitting into outs?

Ranger fans?

Nightfyre 08-04-2012 06:50 PM

There are more rangers fans than royals fans in the crowd, thanks to the Josh Hamilton speech after the game.

Sounds like the whole stadium is cheering. I wouldn't think there would be a stadium full of Texas fans

stonedstooge 08-04-2012 06:52 PM

****.

Nightfyre 08-04-2012 07:00 PM

Well. That's two games we probably should have won, but didn't. I still think that ump's strikezone was bullshit and different for the two teams.
