Saturday August 11th Preseason Games Thread

Cam Newton looking like garbage. Arian Foster with a fumble.

FANTASY ALERT

Dylan 08-11-2012 06:01 PM

Thanks, SNR

Observations so far:

Kuechly stripped the ball on Arian Foster's first carry.

Schaub looked sharp - Cam looked shaky. I'm not sure why they would take him out so fast.

Anderson is in the game.

LB intercepted Schaub -

Seems Schaub & Foster have turned the ball over on consecutive possessions.

Foster with another turnover.

Dylan 08-11-2012 06:11 PM

Announcer says that on 2nd down throw got disrupted because a ref was in Yates' way. LMAO

Dylan 08-11-2012 06:32 PM

Can't believe an official called for an interference penalty on the CB at the Texans 4 yard line.

TD Panthers

O.city 08-11-2012 06:33 PM

Whats goin on with the official lockout.

Dylan 08-11-2012 06:34 PM

I don't know. But the NFL better settle it fast.

The NFL is a billion dollar company and their pinching pennies together.

Pasta Little Brioni 08-11-2012 06:38 PM

I saw the newbies call a tackle for holding blocking for Horsehead and Hali draw a holding call as well. Looked fine to me. No bias and weren't trying to make themselves part of the game.

The officials in our game were totally confused. At one point, an official in the booth had to come down to help them sort it out.

Read my post:
http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showp...&postcount=381

Edit: And that's a small sample of their confusion. They lost control of the game, because they had the rules wrong.

The NFL can't allow replacement officials to call regular season games -

-King- 08-11-2012 06:53 PM

Yates is ****ing balling.

Dylan 08-11-2012 07:03 PM

Agreed. Yates is looking good for the Texans -

Dylan 08-11-2012 07:17 PM

Texans offense has been so bad tonight in the redzone...Finally, they get a TD

Yates has looked good between the 20s, but struggled mightily in the red zone.

Dylan 08-11-2012 07:22 PM

I know, milkman. Yates looked good getting down to the 9 ... but ...

rookie RB (?) Grimes scores his first TD from the 3 yard line.

Dylan 08-11-2012 07:29 PM

Nice showing from rookie Mercilus (1.5 sacks), the first round pick.

Flynn looks better than Cassel.

That's what a retread backup is supposed to look like.

This Titan offense looks like the Chiefs of the last couple of years.

Chris Johnson, and nothing else.

He's got some zip on the ball, but he hasn't really done shit.

Not overly impressed.

with his 0 TD's and his 1 pick

or are you talking about his 5.0 yards per attempt...

You are a DOUCHE

Dylan 08-11-2012 09:26 PM

Locker is doing a nice job - much better than Hasselback and two interceptions.

It's just preseason.

Dylan 08-11-2012 09:45 PM

Nice throw and catch - 39 yards on the play

TD Seattle

Hammock Parties 08-11-2012 10:14 PM

Russell Wilson, yet another QB we could have picked, doing well.

Instead we picked a god damn developmental OT one pick before.

****. Me.

Hammock Parties 08-11-2012 10:32 PM

Russell Wilson is 10/13 for 104 yards.

And we have The Flighty Quinn and Penis Stanzi.

FML

tk13 08-11-2012 10:36 PM

Wilson with a hideous, hideous throw into the endzone for an INT. There you go.

milkman 08-12-2012 08:31 AM

Just watched the Bucs-Dolphins.

I thought Matt Moore looked pretty good.

Dolphin offense was bit in the ass in his series by a drop by Chad Johnson on a perfectly throw 3rd down pass and by a penalty that set them back in the second series.

Also thought Tannehill looked good.

3 pts. by the 1st team offense in an entire half, a fumble, and a pick ROFL He was AWESOME!!!

milkman 08-12-2012 09:12 AM

Watching this Donkey rebroadcast on NFLN, and it's going to ate time for Deliverance to adjust to his new lack of arm strength.

He has no zip on his throws.

His throw to the sideline route fluttered, and his pass over the middle that was picked had no zip, which allowed the corner to get his hand on it and tip it.

He looks like Chad Pennigton trying to make Delieverance throws.

Yep, same great mind and quick release, but the arm strength isn't there like was being reported by the clueless media and Bronco homers.

It looks like he never stepped off the field. He looks in prime form!!!!!!!! Bullshit.

A couple of times he had to step up into the pocket... looked as if he may have had the opportunity to run if you know what I mean. Not that he has ever been very fast... but damn he looked slow and tenative.

Reminded me of Unitas late in hs career.

tk13 08-12-2012 09:25 AM

I didn't catch the Dolphins game... but I think Matt Moore has shown the ability to play well. He's probably not going to get a fair shot with Tannehill though.

And I totally agree about Manning... said the same thing in the thread the other night. He may still have success... his mind is still there. But his throws didn't have the same pop. I don't know what some of these people are seeing. I think no one wants to be the guy who says it. Maybe he'll get there with more practice. He didn't throw any long passes outside the numbers though. That'll be the test.

I think Unitas had accomplished everything he could have, and had cemented his legacy as the greatest ever by the time he was traded to the Chargers.

He was just hanging on because he didn't know what else to do.

Deliverance, on the other hand, still has some unfinished business, and were he to retire today, his legacy would be unfulfilled.

He has more motivation to adjust and become more accustomed to his new limitations, and I think he will.

It will, however, take some time.

tk13 08-12-2012 09:27 AM

Then again maybe he's just playing rope a dope in the preseason and will start throwing 70 yard bombs in week 1.

Disagree.

It appears the battle to start had come down to Moore and Garrard, with Tannehill as the project.

With Garrard out with an injury, it's almost a certainty that Moore will start the season behind center.

I noticed that every one of his passes had a wobble to it. If Manning loses 10% or more of his arm strength, which I think he has, he just becomes another quarterback. Damn glad the Chiefs didn't mortgage the future to get him. Thanks for excluding us Peyton.

I wasn't talking about the Unitas that went to the Chargers. Late in his career with the Colts he looked old and slow... but could still make plays. Mannings movements reminded me of that. You kind of fear for his safety if teams start putting pressure on him... something the Bears really didn't do.

I'd still take him over Cassel and its not even close.

Peyton Manning

LMAO I thought Manning was being filtered to Deliverance in Milkman's posts. Why do you call him that?

He was one of the only QBs I wanted in the 2012 draft outside of Luck, RGIII, and Tannehill.

That's some of the funniest shit ever.
