Broncos DE Jason Hunter tears triceps

Perhaps our injury bug from last year transferred to another team. Hunter was a backup last year, but had apparently been playing as a starter so far this preseason.

http://www.denverpost.com/broncos/ci...ast-two-months

Quote:

Broncos' Jason Hunter out at least two months with triceps tear

Chris Kuper wasn't the only starter the Broncos lost during training camp practice Tuesday.

Jason Hunter, who had been promoted to first-string defensive end ahead of Robert Ayers two weeks ago, suffered a triceps tear that will sideline him at least two months and could end his season. Hunter appeared to sustain the injury while popping a blocking sled as the defensive linemen were working through a technique drill.

Del Rio was trying to set a fire under Ayers ass and it worked, Ayers had a sack against Chicago.

On the Hunter injury, it's not that big of a deal. Ayers, Wolfe (who had two sacks against Chicago), and Beal (who also had two sacks against Chicago) can easily match Hunter's production.

Peyton Manning intentionally injures his own teammates just to show his control.

Edgar Jones had a sack against Arizona. I fully expect to see Ayers and Jones competing against each other for NFL DPOY.

Preseason doesn't lie.

Jerrell Powe had a sack in just two quarters of play against the Cardinals. If he keeps up this pace during the regular season he'll have 32 sacks by the end of the year.

He injured his own neck, just so he could get out of Indy and go to Denver.

Looks like pretty shitty production. You should feel sad that your starter is that big of a piece of shit.

The numbers are shitty enough that i think Ayers will fit in nicely. In fact he will most likely get even lower numbers.

Ayers had a much higher PFF rating than Jason Hunter last year.

Ayers will most likely replace Hunter. Wolfe is going to be a guy that plays all on the DL his rookie year. He can fill in for Ayers or Doom on first and second down and then he will be rushing the passer in the nickle. Wolfe could be in the running for Defensive ROY, but Kuechly will probably win that one.

Anyone catch the Peyton Manning interview on Dan Patrick this morning?
PM said he's still day to day, has a lot of healing up still to do, trying to get used to new WRs in a new offense on a new team.

Not surprising. I have no doubt that he's 100% realistic about his abilities and how he's coming along. He may have lost a step physically, but he's got to be one of the most intelligent QBs to ever play the game.

Nothing we didn't already know. Straight talk, PM being PM. When DP tried to pin him on how it went down in Indy PM totally stonewalled him, same thing with the Tebow question. Funny as hell to see DP get shut down.

On another note, Dontari Poe is more of a Reggie White type of player, but faster and less racist. Plus he can play some receiver.

Well, it hurts. But it's a pretty minor "hurt" compared to your starting RG getting hurt when you have next to zero depth on the OL. Hunter was doing fine, but it's not like he was all pro while Ayers was dog shit. They're both about even.

But you're right - losing depth hurts. If they have ANOTHER injury on the DL, they could be in deep shit.

Yep. At DE we have Ayers who looks about the same as Hunter, and Wolfe, Beal and Jackson who all are young guys who look like they could be at the very least decent.

At G, the only guy that has shown the ability to play anywhere close to Kuper's level is currently playing RT.
