Peyton Manning

Hey, a time when it's actually appropriate and makes sense to just type that.

Wallace.

That CB bit was OBVIOUSLY misinformation to avoid a tampering charge.

I wonder if they are talking to us about Bowe.

Colts most likely aren't trading for franchise players like Welker or Bowe. They can't get new contracts until after 2012 regular season.

ShowtimeSBMVP 08-23-2012 08:00 PM

Pro Football Weekly ‏@ProFootballWkly

Per @PhilRichards6, #Colts seeking a CB in a trade, possible options including #Cowboys' Mike Jenkins or #Dolphins' Vontae Davis.

Guessing.

Trade Bowe for their first while the dudes still drunk. It will be a top 10 pick. QB time!

BossChief 08-23-2012 08:02 PM

A deal cant be signed, but a verbal agreement on a contract can be agreed upon and signed 12:01.

I doubt very highly they would be looking for a corner and not a skill position player to help Luck.

EDIT: I dont think this could happen...unless the Chiefs said its ok. Otherwise, it would be tampering because Bowe is now under contract.

Yep, that's who it is. MJD just announced yesterday or the day b4 he would like to be traded if he couldn't be paid. Brown isn't a No.1 and he gets hurt easily. With that said, MJD knees aren't exactly in the best of shape with all the work horsing he has done with the Jags. Interesting.

Would our 1St plus The Colts 1ST & maybe a some lower picks be enough to secure being able to draft Berkeley ? (Or the consensus top Qb - which he is now and will most likely be come draft day.)....

He traded for Matt Cassel.

I have zero faith in him when it comes to the QB.

Unsmooth-Moment 08-24-2012 03:08 AM

I don't see the Jaguars trading their best player to a divisional rival.

I'd guess Wallace or Bowe.

Why would the Dolphins trade Davis?

And isn't Jenkins on the PuP list? I could see Dallas trying to unload him, but I can't imagine it will be for a significant pick.

And I can't imagine either of those players being dealt for a "significant pick."

If I'm the Colts, and I'm trading a R1 pick, it better be for an impact offensive player like Wallace, Bowe or MJD.

I'm leaning towards WR, especially considering Austin Collie's career may very well be over at this point. I've lost track of how many diagnosed concussions that dude has suffered - and those are just the head dings that are reported.

Yeah a vet WR makes too much sense. Wallace makes too much sense. That's gotta be who it is.

The only other position from the Colts standpoint that makes sense is OL.

But teams don't typically deal promising young OLmen.

Or, Irsay considers a R2/R3 pick "significant". That's more in the ballpark for Davis or any of the other CB's being mentioned.

If he gives up a R1 pick for Vontae Davis, he should be committed. Good corner, but just wait a year and use that pick to draft one.

htismaqe 08-24-2012 06:34 AM

If a player did something like this, they would be disciplined by their team AND the league.

Irsay is a ****ing loose cannon and needs to be silenced. No more Twitter, it's stupid.

People suspect Cary Williams, a guy who apparently isn't adjusting well to the Ravens new-look defense. Hell, I didn't realize the Ravens were installing a new defensive playbook, but that would make sense as long as the price is right. Pagano hasn't really stocked the cupboard yet with "his" players like most rookie head coaches do in their first years and beyond.
