Probably comparable to a Blank Bear since he was so agitated. I might have made more of an effort to calm him down before I let him loose. That was one lucky dude.

And if I was the park ranger I would have clipped off the head of the guy with the camera. Dumb ass is wandering all around filming it. Hold still and stop freaking out the 1,500 lbs. animal that has no problem freight training anything in it's path.

Animals are amazing at times. The Ranger clearly kept a calm most people could not have which is probably why he was smiling and laughing at the end and not pumeled.

That was the key. Poor guy was huffing and puffing pretty hard. I'm really surprised it didn't shred that swingset.

Yeah, the guy is brave. But it's probably not his first rodeo, and he had a good sense that the animal was more tired and wanting help, than irritated and full of piss and vinegar. Poor guy sounded like a locomotive pounding the last few yards over a mountain pass. The danger was that the animal would hurt him unwittingly, not that it would lash out. Good body and emotion control, and a shit-ton of experience, at work there.

It's like Scott Pioli entangled with Matt Cassel. We need a Ranger Clark to come along with his bolt cutters and gracefully disentangle them and allow the Scott to go trotting over the horizon. Swing set goes to the junk pile.

Getting that close to a moose for that long is extremely dangerous.

Like others have said he was very tired. I would rather have the other park ranger holding a rifle at the ready then a camera.

I think this had a better chance of getting killed, my goodness.

I wonder how long they were there letting that moose huff and puff and tire himself out. It's not like they have the mentality of a dog. It's a wild ****ing animal. Yeah, pet his nose. That'll help. Lucky ****er.

That's exactly what i was thinking.

If you've never been up close to a moose before, you really don't have an appreciation of just how big they are. We see them up in Northern Minnesota on our fishing trips sometimes. I took video of one just outside our cabin and man was she huge. Beautiful animals though.
