Any idiot with half a brain knows this team needs a QB. Insanity is trying the same thing over and expecting different results.

im used of sucking now. this franchise is the ONLY franchise since 1984 that has not even attempted draft a qb in the first around. Thats 27 years, its also no shocking that there is only 1 play off win in that time.

I dont think its gonna get better in the next few years either.

Mr. Flopnuts 09-10-2012 04:41 AM

Yeah, they need a lot more than just a QB. This is the first year I've had to work in Sundays in roughly forever. I always made sure I wouldn't have to work on Sundays. When I took this job they told me Sundays were a requirement and I accepted the job. I have zero regrets at this point.

Still not good but we have 3 playoff wins in that amount of time.

PRIEST 09-10-2012 05:05 AM

27 years wow not good not good at all .

Deberg_1990 09-10-2012 05:10 AM

Feel ya.....I just don't have the same passion for Chiefs football like I used to. Probably my age, but it's mostly for a a team I feel like has just been spinning it's wheels for the past decade and a half.

Gonzo 09-10-2012 05:59 AM

I turned it off after the missed FG. I knew that was going to be the turning point.
I wasn't wrong, never am.

I think I stopped caring 4 years ago. I have better things to do than get all emotionally invested in another 8-8 team. I'm too busy to care anymore.

Dartgod 09-10-2012 06:22 AM

No, Cassel will never lead this team far, let alone to a SB Championship.

That said, the fact that people want to focus on Cassel as the root of our problems after yesterday's debacle makes me

Ironically all 3 wins were thanks to a Hall of Fame Quarterback.

Parrots abound here. They got OL/DL problems and have for a decade or so. They solved the OL prob with FA but they never drafted players that could replace those guys, so there is no veteran leadership now. Same with the DL, except they never replaced them with talented FA, so it looks a lot worse.

Sure, the D was bad. They were missing 2 key pieces.

Cassel IS a major problem.

Pioli is the root of the problem.

It's something we all know needs to be done. And we know what our current ceiling is until we get that franchise guy.

So if we all know this, why get so upset?

I used to all the time then I realized it's stupid. Did you pick the players? Do you have any say whatsoever in who the Chiefs get? No. So why take it personally?

I know! Right? If only Pioli would draft that franchise long snapper we would be on our way to the SB.

Radar Chief 09-10-2012 07:18 AM

I DVR the games and watch them on time delay so I can turn +3 hours of pain and suffering into 45 minutes. That made the second half easier to handle.

Pretty much ^this.
I refuse to let the Chiefs ruin the rest of my Sunday and continue watching football and checking on my fantasy team’s score.

Come on people. Don't give up so easy. Atlanta is a regular season juggernaut. We were missing key players. So we aren't a great team...again. It will get better though. I promise.

The offensive line played very well yesterday, INCLUDING the guys that were drafted by Pioli. Asamoah was a beast in the 1st half.

No one has ever grilled Clark Hunt on this-it is a telling stat as to why we have sucked for so many years.

Trent Green was the only QB we had, (Joe Montana briefly), who I felt could bring us back from a 14-17 point deficit.

When we are down by 10 with Cassel, I feel like we are done. That's terrible but it's the truth as a fan for 41 years.....:banghead:

Lol, seriously though. It will get better. This team has too many good players for it not to get better. Last season our defense got burned real bad the first few games, and we rebounded and got our shit together. Turned out we had a real nice defense the rest of the year. That was missing Berry all year too. Once we get Hali, Lewis, and Flowers back, this defense will come together soon.

The difference between this year and last so far is that at least offensively we looked pretty good for a good majority of the game, before we were forced to become one dimensional. We can't be a one dimensional offense. We have to be balanced in order to have any success. Usually our defense will allow for that.

Yeah! Like a QB, D-line, CB, WR, PK, KR, LB, and O-linemen. We might good at the other positions. Or not.

I ate too much killer tri tip sandwich at the tailgate yesterday to eat any dicks, but thanks for the offer. I am disappointed by the D, even with the loss of the starters, but will wait a few games to make my determination of how this team really is. I may be spending alot more time workin on the old jeep and hunting, and a litlle less time watching them if they are the abortion they were in the second half yesterday.

anyone that concludes that this game was about the QB had already decided to 'give up' anyway.

if our defense was even mediocre against Atlanta we win in a walk

Hell, if our defense has just gotten a turnover in the first half we probably win because we get the lead and can use the run more. More runs for Charles = more big chunks.

And Cassel will never lead this team to a comeback win, which is all most Chiefs fans want in a QB. This team can try and fix the holes in this team, but until they address the Field General leading this team we will keep being a terrible team.

I'm certainly not happy, but I'm not ready to pull the plug on them until I see the defense play at full strength. I think this is a much better team than yesterday's abortion indicated. That was a horrible first team to play, especially with dumb **** Hali serving his dope suspension.

The Saints-getting their suspensions overturned before playing the Chiefs

There's people who are even considering giving up on their team for the season, after week one?

Boise_Chief 09-10-2012 04:04 PM

I'm with otter on this, Until we see a change at QB I am investing no more emotion in this team. I'll watch the games but it won't rule my Sundays. More importantly for the Chiefs organization I am spending no more money on the NFL or the Chiefs specifically. I've told my family no Chiefs gifts until Cassel is gone.

I realize the front office will never know but I don't see the logic in supporting an organization that refuses to change.

The Chiefs are basically the Royals of the NFL. Both teams in a small market with cheap owners that are not willing to spend the required money to win a championship. It would not surprise me at all if both teams were relocated at some point.

Pioli would have been smarter to wait for GM opening with a team that has an Owner that is driven by the quest to attain a Superbowl ring in lieu of profit margin.

No sense clamoring for the impossible.

Clearly drafting a DE is the top priority for 2013.

JoeyChuckles 09-10-2012 05:51 PM

Right because it is impossible to draft a QB without losing games on purpose

I think it's probable KC finishes with a 10-15 pick, and I think DC's move for RG3 will be replicated by other teams.

IMHO KC will have to wheel and deal into the top 5 to draft a valuable QB, and I'm guessing that's not what Pioli wants to do.

Which brings us to Scott Pioli. It's 1 of 2 things--either he has absolutely no talent evaluation skills in terms of by far the most important position in today's league, or the bald-headed egomaniac prick is simply too stubborn and small penised to admit he made a mistake on Casshole. Not being able to evaluate qb talent completely negates any talent evaluation skills one might have regarding other positions on the field--and the jury is certainly out on whether he's any better evaluating other positions than he is at qb.

Personally, I'd like to see Pioli fired immediately and unceremoniously. I know it's the first game, blah blah blah, but I'd love to see Clark Hunt walk into Pioli's office and just say, "sorry Scott, it just hasn't worked out for any of us. Pack up your things in this box and Security will escort you to your car." Or better yet, Clark Hunt would walk into Scott Pioli's office with a live grenade and say "this is for the good of the Kansas City Chiefs franchise" just before he threw it on the floor and blew both of them into tiny little pieces.

We're screwed until Pioli is fired. With the usual Hunt urgency in terms of putting a winning product on the field, that won't happen for at least 2 more crappy seasons.

I really like Pioli. I have been happy with a lot of the roster moves. A lot of them.

I cannot take another year without getting a QB. Or trying. If this is what it takes, so be it. I have not liked Cassel since 2010, even during that season you could see the guy has zero accuracy. Completion percentage masks inaccuracy with him.

I can't take it anymore.

Yep. That's a world of pain. I think Missouri's got some upside down the road, but as long as Hunt and Glass own the KC teams, I really don't see things improving. All they care about is money. There's always the chance that the Chiefs might catch lightning in a bottle the way the Rams once did, but odds are against it.
