Google implements "Bacon number" search

For all you Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon fans, Google just gave you a way to cheat. Just google "bacon number" followed by an actor's name.

It's incredible how many movies he's been in - I can't find anyone higher than a 2!

Canofbier 09-13-2012 04:57 PM

Hah, they knew that smartasses like me would search "bacon number kevin bacon", so they actually made it 0.

Canofbier 09-13-2012 04:58 PM

Also, I did manage to find a 3: Tommy Wiseau.

Updates as I find them:
Gallagher: 3
Daniel Tosh: 3

Screw it, there's lots of 3s. Not updating again until I have a 4 or higher.

I wonder if they 'backdoored' [NPI] that through Entourage. If they use the whole of Entourase's run as one degree, it's easily that short, possibly shorter.

Juan Tapia is a 5. Without cheating.

htismaqe 09-14-2012 06:53 AM

They need to make it more complex. Like this:

They actually did it with a movie to be released next year, to me that is kind of cheating, but could say her number will soon be 2.

pr_capone 09-14-2012 12:00 PM

Here is a surprising one... I would have figured this would have been a 1... 2 tops.

Johnny Carson's Bacon number is 4
Johnny Carson and Connie Francis appeared in Looking for Love.
Connie Francis and Harve Presnell appeared in When the Boys Meet the Girls.
Harve Presnell and Frances Lee McCain appeared in Patch Adams.
Frances Lee McCain and Kevin Bacon appeared in Footloose.

ReynardMuldrake 09-14-2012 12:11 PM

It depends on what or not talk show TV counts. Kevin Bacon was surely on the Johnny Carson Show at least once but some people won't allow that to be counted.

On a related note, Google has acknowledged that their database isn't 100% comprehensive. It's not pulling from IMDb - it's pulling from their crazy knowledgebase that aggregates data from around the web.

pr_capone 09-14-2012 01:47 PM

BOOM... headshot.

Georges Méliès played Barbe-bleue in the 1901 film Bluebeard and has absolutely no connection to Kevin Bacon.

If William Rufus Shafter's 2 acting jobs in the late 1800's counts... this sure as shit does.

I win all the internets.

BourbonMan 09-14-2012 02:03 PM

Kyra Sedgwick 1 move
Pyrates
and then again in The Woodsman

durtyrute 09-14-2012 02:22 PM

Bacon sure does get around

Bweb 09-14-2012 02:27 PM

Interesting one....Ronald Reagan = 3

DJ's left nut 09-14-2012 02:40 PM

I feel like this is an incomplete game.

For instance, Richard Hammond has no Bacon Number...why? I can get you there.

Hammond was in an animated Short called 'Scragg and Bones' w/ Dave Fulton (Bones)
Fulton did a guest spot on a show called Saxondale w/ James Bachman
Then you can do a Bacon Number search with James Bachman and get there in 4 jumps.

As such, Richard Hammond has a Bacon Number of 6.

Does the Bacon Number game require only links through major motion pictures?

It doesn't, depending on who you're talking to.

I have an Erdos number of 4. I can get there by 2 independent paths.

Anyone on here with a Sabbath number or a Bacon number? We could do some joint collaborations to join the center of the universe.

My 1st cousin had a bit part as a high school student in "Sometimes They Come Back" starring Tim Matheson, who has a Bacon number of 1.

Does that count?

I'll write a research paper with you and your first cousin if he can get us in a movie.
