If you hate Pioli.....

..U don't want a QB in the first round of the 2013 draft.......If this season continues to go down hill, and really why would you think other wise? Then we will pick top 5 and be in position to pick one of the top QB prospects. But that will also buy Pioli another 3 years. The only way he gets fired IMO is to go 0-16 or 1-15. 4 or even 3 wins will buy him another year. And by drafting a QB he will have the excuse that rookies need a chance to develop thus buying himself an additional 3 years. And then there is also the argument of do you really want Piloi picking the Potential QBOTF?

I quit reading at "U".

Pioli will get a contract extension before the end of the year. Bank on it.

If that happens we won't get any thing out of the deal. At least if hes forced to draft a QB we would get something.

bricks 09-17-2012 03:58 PM

This team won't be in position to draft a quarterback.

They will finish 7-9 and end up drafting like either 10 or 12 and pick a lineman. Same ole Chiefs.

No way in hell will we finish 7-9.

Mr. Arrowhead 09-17-2012 03:59 PM

I used to think this was true. But now this team looks like the "over achievement ointment" is running out and they'll be lucky to win more than a few games. I doubt Pioli will finish the season at this point. Arrowhead is surely going to become a ghost town again. I guess we'll see soon.

He has one year left on it after this year is over.

Eh, nobody would've thought the same thing last year.

So far, this year and last year are exact mirror images of each other.

They got off to slow start and picked it up during the season. this year they are off to slow start again, but the question is, can they pick it up? It's Possible.

there are some winnable games on their schedule. I can see them splitting with the Raiders and Chargers. They'll prolly win one against the Donks as well.

I could see them winning against Cleveland. They could beat the Colts at home and even Cinci at home. thats 6 wins right there.

I agree. No way they win 7. But also doubt Pioli gets the boot mid year. Like I said i doubt he gets fired at all if they eek out 3 or 4 wins.

Mediocrity is this franchise's staple.

They may look terrible now, but I wouldn't be surprised if they ended up mediocre.

They actually were worse last year at the beginning of the season. I remember people saying then that they would only win 1 or 2 games, but I felt that they would find a way to win 7 or 8. They just had to much talent to lose them all. I dont have the same feeling about this bunch. They really are a ruderless ship right now. And I dont see that changing.

Well, the glorious master Carl Peternoggin mysteriously "resigned" dec 15th IIRC so I'm thinking the new glorious master will do about the same.

Carl was last seen in arrowhead overlooking the chiefs game and those 200 people that showed up for it. Just sayin.

Why? What the **** is he going to do? Pick the Tyson Jackson of QB prospects?

This team looks 2-14 bad right now. They'll probably be 4-12 or 5-11 when all is said and done. That's enough to draft one of the top three prospects (Smith, Wilson, Barkley). If it comes to that, does it ****ing matter if it's Pioli or a new GM making the QB pick? The decision is the ****ing same.

If those games start getting blacked out and no one is in the stadium then you could be right. I just dont see it happening.

That is what Im worried about. I want an elite QB. I dont want a shitty QB that just happened to be picked in the first round. For christ sakes we Have quinn on the roster right now. I dont want Pioli passing Wilson up for Jones just to prove how smart he is.

He wouldn't do that. Not when his job is on the line.

Gonzo 09-17-2012 05:31 PM

I don't know why all of you keep claiming that we need to draft a qb...

There will be plenty of them available via FA next year. It's not like Pioli will ever get rid of Cassel anyway.
That would be admitting failure.

el borracho 09-18-2012 06:12 AM

If I were Clark Hunt I would give Pioli two directives:

1. Franchise QB
2. Legitimate head coach

If he cannot manage these tasks, he would be gone.

I want a potential franchise QB over all else, and I'm tired of waiting year after year.

You're probably right. The thing is though, you can get a QB at pick 12 or later. It's a common misconception that you have to have a top 3 pick to get a franchise QB. You really really don't. Yeah it's nice if there's guys like Luck and RGIII that are clearly gonna go in the top 2, but if you look around there are some good QBs that were picked later in the first round and beyond.

No idea why you would think that. That's the same as 1 win or no wins.
