I'll take good seasons with disappointing playoff losses at home any day over the shit we've had since...well I guess since Herm? Anyway, yeah I miss the old days. I'd take the Vermeil/Saunders scoring machine and defense that couldn't stop a nosebleed any day over the shitfest we have now. I miss Priest, Shields, Roaf, Waters, Gonzalez, Kennison, Green, Dante. It was at least fun to watch.

When was the last time we ****ing had a kick or punt returned for a TD? Was it the MNF San Diego week 1 game a couple years ago? Christ I honestly don't remember.

This is what we're gonna be for the next couple years. A bunch of dudes on a message board reminiscing about better times...better times that still didn't net us a playoff win or a Super Bowl, but they were still so much better than what we've had the last several years.

Does anyone have highlights from the Chiefs vs Raiders MNF game where Andre Rison caught the game winning touchdown? That was a great memory. My dad and I were sitting there all bummed out thinking we'd lost, then out of nowhere Rison catches the TD and we jumped up and were shouting and shit. I've never seen my dad that happy during a game, and still haven't after. It was about the same as the Browns game someone posted a video of above. That was fun too.

I worked with a couple Donk fans that year, one of them being my boss, and they were all screaming "BLOCK IN THE BACK!!! WAHHH!!!" the next day. Even though that first one that appeared to be a clipping penalty looked like the Chiefs player was pushed in the back causing him to push the Donk in the back.

Except for the false alarm of excitement against SD that opening night in the rain I feel like the last really great exciting Chiefs game at Arrowhead that had meaning was that Thanksgiving game against the Broncos vs Plummer.

Say what you want about Vermeil, he's a great coach and the team was fun to watch. That defense though....you can't really put it all on Vermeil, but he did hire the people he hired.

Sad seeing how our guys played with passion and awareness then compared to now. Nowadays our guys don't even go after fumbles, it's gotta be coaching.

Nice seeing replays before it became the No Contact League, qb's are getting creamed, tuck rules are fumbles, and a penalty had to be a penalty to get called.

We were at Lambeau for that game with a Packer fan customer. It was an enjoyable trip back.

I almost feel like crying. I don't know if it's from missing those days of yore - or thinking of what this team is now...

Oh man. This was the day of my grandpa's funeral. Huge Chiefs fan--he bought the season tickets we still use today. How awesome to come home and watch this shit right here.

Yep. And I remember how people bitched about the defense during those years. Yeah - it was shit. But that offense was AWESOME! The Chiefs had a chance to win every Sunday. Now we have a shit offense and a defense almost as bad and virtually no chance to win on Sunday. :cuss:

One thing interesting about the offense on the 2003 team - it was near the top in Time of Possession. It was a ball control offense with quick strike capabilities. It was really cool to be a Chiefs fan then. :thumb:
