Those were the days
With the kick in the balls this team has given us fans lately I submit a feel good video thread....

Those were the days. =(

I'd give my left nut to have that offense again.

Keith Cash spiking the ball on Ryan's face is the last good memory this franchise has had... |
I know Chiefs fans were always looking to replace him but Kennison was really underrated while he was in KC.

Now compare even those modest days to today.
How did you feel every week before a game then? Now? So what should you do?.... |

Absolutely no way. FIFTY FIVE ****ING PTS. Insane... |
Trent made it look so effortless. And throws a perfect ball.
Cassel couldn't have hit Kennison there more than once or twice with 10 throws. |
I miss the 90s for a lot of reasons

This is what we're gonna be for the next couple years. A bunch of dudes on a message board reminiscing about better times...better times that still didn't net us a playoff win or a Super Bowl, but they were still so much better than what we've had the last several years.

Does anyone have highlights from the Chiefs vs Raiders MNF game where Andre Rison caught the game winning touchdown? That was a great memory. My dad and I were sitting there all bummed out thinking we'd lost, then out of nowhere Rison catches the TD and we jumped up and were shouting and shit. I've never seen my dad that happy during a game, and still haven't after. It was about the same as the Browns game someone posted a video of above. That was fun too.
|
Haha, I'm ready to admit that Warfield got not just one, but TWO blocks in the back on Dante's back breaking TD against the Broncos.

Except for the false alarm of excitement against SD that opening night in the rain I feel like the last really great exciting Chiefs game at Arrowhead that had meaning was that Thanksgiving game against the Broncos vs Plummer.

Say what you want about Vermeil, he's a great coach and the team was fun to watch. That defense though....you can't really put it all on Vermeil, but he did hire the people he hired.

Damn I had forgotten all about this one somehow,88 points,Warner,Green,Grbac and Moon all played at QB

We played with heart back then, some good strolls down memory lane, thanks guys.
Sad seeing how our guys played with passion and awareness then compared to now. Nowadays our guys don't even go after fumbles, it's gotta be coaching. Nice seeing replays before it became the No Contact League, qb's are getting creamed, tuck rules are fumbles, and a penalty had to be a penalty to get called. |
We were at Lambeau for that game with a Packer fan customer. It was an enjoyable trip back.
|
I almost feel like crying. I don't know if it's from missing those days of yore - or thinking of what this team is now...

OMG I saw Bartee. Man that DV defense was awful.
|
Damn this thread is depressing. I miss the days when we always knew we could win any game.
|
you know what I miss the most after watching those videos?
A qb who will stand in the pocket and throw the ball and me knowing its probably going to be completed. Instead of screaming at the tv " where the f was he going with that" |

Oh man. This was the day of my grandpa's funeral. Huge Chiefs fan--he bought the season tickets we still use today. How awesome to come home and watch this shit right here.

Yep. And I remember how people bitched about the defense during those years. Yeah - it was shit. But that offense was AWESOME! The Chiefs had a chance to win every Sunday. Now we have a shit offense and a defense almost as bad and virtually no chance to win on Sunday. :cuss:
One thing interesting about the offense on the 2003 team - it was near the top in Time of Possession. It was a ball control offense with quick strike capabilities. It was really cool to be a Chiefs fan then. :thumb: |
it sucks that our glory days (for us 30 yr olds) don't even include a Superbowl appearance and we are reminiscing about it.

Can't seem to find a video, but Marcus Allen scoring his 100th TD against Oakland on Monday Night Football 1993. The cameras turned to Al Davis and you could read his lips F U D G E.

I wonder if our current players have ever even seen some of this stuff. I'll bet they haven't.
How could you watch these, then go out and play like we have been? FAX |

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Marcus Allen provided the emotional lift for his new teammates, the Kansas City Chiefs, in a 24-9 victory over the Raiders on Sunday, getting the 100th touchdown of his career against his old teammates and ending the afternoon being embraced by both sides. But he still wasn't satisfied. "Had I written the script, I would have written it a little better," Allen said after gaining only 24 yards in 17 carries. |
I was at that Green Bay game. Probably one of my best football memories. Going to Lambeau was awesome. Trent throwing for a winning touchdown in OT made it magical. Just a great trip. Bucket list material

Matt Cassel would make DV have a heart attack on the sidelines.
And actually....DV would probably cut Cassel |

But goddamn that's way different football than I watch on Sundays. I can't believe the shit we are sold as ball. |
Good memories, but just makes me depressed. This team will never perform like the past teams.
