We win next Sunday and we are in 1st place
Wow did anyone think that was possible?
|
Did the Chargers lose already?

There are a ton of just idiot, bombastic, know-nothings that happen to be more vocal than anyone else on this board. I ignored about 5 more of them today... Makes this place tolerable. |

And that's what we've seen for 9 of the 12 quarters so far this year. |
This time next week we could be in 1st place...crazy but I like me some crazy

I just know what wins will mean for this franchise. |

NOT gonn'a happen, and I'm absolutely SICK of this shit. Getting a crumb of a little ****ing morale-boost does NOT buy my ****ing loyalty or support. PERIOD. The ONLY ****ing thing that keeps me a KC fan is my experience of being part of a time when this team was consistently good, though snake-bitten in the play offs. Pioli was supposed to be the great cure-all for this shit, "The Patriot Mother****ing Myth", and all that stupid jazz. I'm DONE giving any heart to such a shitty ****ing product administrated by such a shitty ****ing owner who doesn't know his dick from a stick. I will pray for disaster, I will lament any of these idiotic wins, and I will REJOICE WITH THE TRUMPETS OF THE MOTHER****ING ANGELS WHEN SCOTT PEEHOLI AND HIS ABSOLUTE ABORTION OF MISMANAGEMENT ARE SCRAPPED FROM THE UTERUS OF KANSAS CITY FOR GOOD! |
Maybe this makes me a bad fan, but I'm not going to root for us to lose. We could just as easily draft a bust QB in the first round. Or we can go 13-3 with a real QB and still lose in the first round of the playoffs like we always do. Might as well enjoy the regular season and at least have us be relevant for a few games so I can have something look forward to each week. In short, I have no hope of us ever winning in the playoffs again, so I might as well root for an intriguing regular-season.
Pathetic I know. |

That's important. |
I've invested way too much time and money to a franchise that doesn't really care about winning. It's disheartening. The return on investment has been getting my mouth shit into most weekends. I can't actively root for a loss while the game is in progress; but I'm not going to be upset if we bomb this season and clean house.
I just want a coach that isn't an idiot, a GM that gives a shit about his actual job; and a QB that makes good decisions. And throws accurately. And is a real leader. |

If the bandwagon was for Cassel, which it was for a while, I would roll said wagon in to the country Church, lock the doors, and set it on fire like a Dragoon chasing Mel Gibson's colonial children. |
Quote:
I mean really, am I ****ing wrong here? We've bitched at each other on this board and then hung out together in St. Joe as well. All we want is a team that is managed with SOME sense of relation to the modern NFL. Is that too goddamned much to ask for? |

What is the old saying? "Winning cures all ills".
If by some miracle, Chiefs beat SD and start the season 4-2 or 3-3, the wagon will get more crowded. It's early in the season. |

THat's the part that pisses everyone off. |

It's kind of crazy.
I have been and always will be a Chiefs fan. As the game started on Sunday, I expected a loss and actually was okay with the idea. I felt that, were we to be dominated again, it would mean we were that much closer to significant change for the better. Then, when I got back home and found us in overtime, and ultimately winning, I felt kind of disoriented. Do I want them to win? Yes. But I also want us to become a perennial playoff team and ultimate Super Bowl victor. If the only way to get there is to prove to the Hunts that the current regime is a failure, then so be it. Let's get the losing out of the way so we can sooner enjoy the blue skies of success. As a lifelong fan, it puts you in a tough spot. FAX |
Well...we'll be in a 3-way tie for 1st place, Chiefs/Chargers/winner of Denver vs. Oakland

We beat a crappy team, but last week we lost to a crappy team. Yeah a win is great, but the reality of the situation is that your man crush and boy butter supplier will cost this team everything in the end. Let's just say we make it to the playoffs this year. You know what will happen? Cassel will fold like he did with the Ravens two years ago. The guy just doesn't have the chops to be a legitimate NFL QB, and as long as he is running the show on offense, this team will never ever be a winner. Realitically, it's probably more likely than becoming a consistant playoff contender. Expectations are a funny thing. |

No Kevin Boss really hurt yesterday and it's clear that Moeaki is way behind Berry and Charles in terms of recovery. Whether they can build upon yesterday's win and improve as a football team remains to be seen. |
Quote:
Sure, there was a play there where blocking (Allen impressed on this particular play) allowed Jamaal to gut it downhill, but the rest of this run game is Jamaal Charles, paired with the occasional Brandon Albert lead block, not "the Chiefs". I think Moeaki is healthy, but he doesn't know his routes yet. Houston, though, ya. He's playing some solid football considering it's his second season at LOLB. Smart football player. This was one sloppy damn football game. If they roll like this against better teams, they don't win many of them. |
Quote:
The Superbowl is about 25% talent and 75% Luck of the draw. You Chief fans had the talent in the 90's but not the luck, Your team or My team or any other team in the west is not Superbowl material this year. Have fun, drink a beer and enjoy your wins man, when it's your time to play in the big game again you will be there. |

Same here, and PS getting your ass whipped in a SB is not a fond memory of a SB... I would have rather been respectable for the last decade than go to that SB. |

To answer the question, Probably not since some playoff games were won in there... Not much difference in the clubs overall, built basically the same, built to beat each other. |
