Brady Quinn getting half the first team reps
I am surprised this hasn't been posted yet, but according to the radio on 610 this morning, (Bill Maas and Fescoe) Quinn has been getting about 50% of the first team reps in practice this week.
In the short term this is certainly a good thing because Quinn certainly can't be worse than what Cassel has been so far. But I wonder, what if he starts and does decent? Decent enough to warrant not drafting a first round QB next year. I really want the team to win but I want it to be like last week against the Saints every week where we win in spite of the QB, not because of him or with him really contributing. If Quinn does decent will that preclude them from going hard after a QB next season? (If they ever were going to at all). *EDIT* I found the podcasts where they talk about this. It starts at about 15:10. http://www.610sports.com/topic/play_...udioId=6054578 Fescoe asks him how RAC feels about Cassel and so they talk about it. At around 15:10 when they talk about it Maas say, "They are keeping their options open...," then he goes on to elaborate around 15:45, Quote:

finally a glimmer of hope, not saying Quinn will win games and be a FQB but he can't be any worse than what we've been watching for 3 years plus.
|
|
If Quinn is "decent" then we try our hardest to get the best QB possible including trading up.
If Quinn does "amazing" then we only draft a QB if one falls to us at our spot. We do not trade up for one. |
Brady Quinn is better than Cassel.
|
We will have a QB to be excited about next year. Regardless of what happens.

I'm fine with this. I just can't even stand seeing Cassel's face anymore. |
I'd love to see the Chiefs give Quinn a shot. Even if it's not better we already have a full sample pool of what Castle is capable of at this point. Let that ass clown march off to the bank with his middle finger in the air and get him the **** out of town.
You won the power ball ass hole, now leave. |
Even if Quinn has a big year.....we still need to draft a QB in the 1st round. Let him sit for a year and then open up the competition the next year. At the very least....Quinn would be a good #2 QB if he loses the competition.

Let go Mighty Quinn!

Receivers will not be able to adjust to not having to jump and reach for all throws.

At least we know this.....if Quinn goes in and does the same thing that Cassel has done.....he's not sticking around.

As practice is concluding..."Hey Brady, go out for a swing pass." /Cassel

He can't possibly be worse. I'm confident in saying cassel is the worst starter in the league at qb

I'd rather Quinn throw those interceptions than Cassel, to be honest. At least they will be pretty passes from Quinn.

I think it just moved.

Anyone else reporting it? I don't see it anywhere.

If Quinn is as good as Kolb, we make the playoffs.

Quinn is an interception machine. I know we're desperate for a real QB, but c'mon folks

So ****ing dumb that there is not a better choice - like say Orton - after all the "TALK" about competition in the off season.

So quickly that people forget how bad Quinn was in preseason. |
I wasn't able to watch the NO game; did Cassel stink up the joint?

That Spider guy ... wow. Must have been a big-ass fly.
Anyhow ... so, this is unusual? Quinn getting 1st team reps? I wonder what fostered this deal? The sight of poor, little McDervish all busted up and alone is just too much to bear? FAX |

Well at least our coaching staff has identified the problem with this team. Thank god.

Does anyone have or know where to get a 2X Quinn jersey? I will wear it Sunday to the game.

One thing about Quinn is that he has never really had a team around him. He isn't the long term answer in all likelihood but he at least has a bigger arm than Cassel.

He's also inaccurate. He's also bad about locking on to a WR. So at at worst we have a stronger armed guy with better mobility locking on to a target before the checkdown. I'll take it... |

Okay, THIS is news. It has all sorts of implications, both short term and long term.

Twice. |
Both Cassel and Quinn suck. Cassel is a ****tard, and Quinn is one of the top 5 busts in the past 10-20 years.

Who cares!!!!! This does not mean we are Superbowl bound or even playoff bound.
The point is we won't have to watch Cassel anymore!!!!!! We will be getting a new QB next year. This is the point. Rejoice the Cassel era is coming to an end and it just might be sooner than we expected. |
Quote:
1st round QB that has been on the bench for the vast majority of his career. You don't call that a bust? Put it like this.... Jamarcus Russell had more yards in one year than Quinn has in his career. Flip that any way you want, that's pathetic. |
I knew it would only be a matter of time. Quinn was about to come in before Charles' 91 yard TD run. He was on the sideline with his helmet on then Charles went all Katrina on New Orleans thus momentarily saving Cassel from the inevitable. It's coming. They can't hide Casse's suckage anymore.

Quinn is a upgrade .. but that's not say'n much .....

And if Quinn does get the start at some point, i highly doubt our offense will be any better, but it will at least mean the Cassel era is officially over. |

Why would Crennel choose this moment in time to consider replacing Doofus #1 with Doofus #2? I mean, we just won a game. FAX |
Watch, Cassel will throw for 350 and 4 td's Sunday
