Steve Breaston

Productive player last year, right? Then why, with a mummified McCluster, is Breaston only in for 19% of the snaps while DMC is in for 64% of the snaps? Not a problem if DMC is healthy & we don't have a qb that overthrows our TALLEST wr. When it comes to fail, this coaching staff leaves no stone unturned.

Sorter 10-01-2012 12:27 PM

Because Steve isn't as good out of the slot in the eyes of Daboll?

KCUnited 10-01-2012 12:27 PM

Who?

Brock 10-01-2012 12:28 PM

Coming here was the biggest mistake of his life.

Sofa King 10-01-2012 12:29 PM

Baldwin sucks too, so there's always that.

kcpasco 10-01-2012 12:29 PM

Is wishing he was still in Arizona

The Franchise 10-01-2012 12:30 PM

Baldwin should be on the outside with Bowe.....and Breaston should be in the slot. **** McCluster.

mr. tegu 10-01-2012 12:30 PM

What is the point of putting Breaston, and Baldwin for that matter, out there when the coaching staff knows that Cassel won't find them...

Jive Ass 10-01-2012 12:32 PM

Been wondering the same thing. McCluster's arm looks like it's being held on with a long roll of toilet paper.

vailpass 10-01-2012 12:32 PM

Kurt Warner.
Gus Cassel.

DJ's left nut 10-01-2012 12:33 PM

Because Pioli has to justify another failed pick.

Breaston made a really nice catch on the sidelines to keep a drive going last week and he's just a very good slot WR.

But he's a Haley guy and McCluster is another failed Pioli pick so by God we're going to hammer this McCluster peg into a round hole at the expense of a far better player.

Pioli's an asshole that cares less about winning football games than being 'proven right'.

I hope he dies.

Don't blame McCluster. His job is to run short underneath routes He does that. His job is also to get YAC, but the defense doesn't have to fade into the secondary giving space to the underneath routes because they know there is virtually no threat from the QB. It is Cassel's fault for never looking downfield past him. It shouldn't be too hard to look over him and find someone downfield considering how small he is.

Blick 10-01-2012 12:35 PM

I was wondering why McCluster was seeing so much time in TWO WR sets. Makes no ****ing sense.

Breaston's better at that job.

He's faster, he's a much better route runner, he has better hands, he's smarter in the offense and knows better when to break off a route and find a hole in the zone.

It has nothing to do with McCluster's role, but the fact that Breaston is simply better at it.

GoShox 10-01-2012 12:38 PM

Had no idea what he was getting himself into.

Brock 10-01-2012 12:40 PM

Breaston is better at everything than either McCluster or Baldwin.

Yep, this.

Breast Man worships at the altar of Todd Haley. Hes in no mans land right now with this hand picked Pioli staff.

Chiefnj2 10-01-2012 12:45 PM

Wasn't Breaston listed as a limited participant in practice this week? If so, maybe he's hurt a bit.

He was found 61 times for 785 yards last year. An injured DMC should NOT be on the field before a healthy Breaston. Period. Coaching FAIL!

The one thing he isn't better at is getting separation. That's why he's sitting. Breaston maybe faster but he isn't as quick.

Breaston should be the first option on third down period.

Look at the QB we have.

That's why Breaston, Baldwin hardly ever get the ball.....it's either Bowe...or checkdown.

Theres alot of truth in this. Look how much Orton spread the ball around in his 3 games.

Seriously look at that, EVERYBODY gets involved. Even three passes to Copper for 60 yards in that Raiders game. And he didn't have to put our receivers' lives on the line to do it.

Orton is the cute girl that will kiss you on the twenty yard line, run her fingers through your hair on the fifty, have her hand down the front of your pants at the opponent's 30, then excuse herself by lying that she has to go put in her diaphragm inside the 20, only to leave you standing there alone with your hard on in the red zone.

Breaston has been Cassel'd.

For ****'s sake, this maggot made Randy Moss look pedestrian.

This offense was better with Haley calling the shots and trying to browbeat Cassel into being a real NFL QB.

Instead we get Matty Dumpoff the Wonder **** and His Sidekick, Pipsqueak Checkdown, the Dreadlocked Playmaker.

Didn't suck in Arizona.

Didn't suck last year.

Suddenly he sucks?

Bullshit.

Daboll is a piece of shit, Cassel is a piece of shit, and Dexter is their illegitimate, reeruned child.

And Pioli played matchmaker.

aturnis 10-01-2012 04:22 PM

He has been on the field plenty this year, but he doesn't get open, and when he does, either Cassel doesn't throw it to him, or he can't make the catch.

How much of Breaston's production came in garbage time?

Considering how many pts we score a game this year I'm not horribly down on Daboll. After working with mostly crap-tastic QB's he probably didn't figure Ca$$hole could be all that hard...

He was as good as dead when Haley was canned, he'll land on his feet in Pittsburgh, a real team, next year.

See ya, Steve.

Cassell is Cancer.

He is destroying peoples careers here.

This team would be a scoring machine & all kinds of guys could contribute if we had a QB.

Simply Cassell does not know how to matriculate the ball down field that allows guys to contribute. We are handicap with Cassell kind of like MJ Fox with parkinsons.

We are just ****ed with Cassell all the team is getting screwed. Every one of the players on this team is a product of the QB & it shows on the field.

Hammock Parties 10-01-2012 05:23 PM

Matt Cassel is a coach killer, a receiver killer, and soon a GM killer.

If he's here next year he will kill a fanbase for an entire season.

Our offense is shit, stats be damned.

Daboll's history is coordinating shit offenses.

Occam's razor.

Besides, look at our playcalling. It's VERY Herm esque.

Shox 10-01-2012 05:52 PM

It is impossible to know what the value of anybody on this team is as long as Cassel is taking snaps.

Dexter could be a really nice slot receiver if the D respected our ability to throw it over the top, but they don't. Therefore the underneath stuff does not produce YAC because of all the defenders in the area. Yesterday I watched Cassel audible to a run when the D was playing 1 deep safety 5 times.

Another example yesterday was Winston. First he did not have a good game. However, defensive lineman constantly get jumps on our OL because of Cassel. His cadence is exactly the same time after time after time. Does he ever give a hard count NO. He just lets the defense jump our Oline.

Until Cassel is on the bench the team can't begin to figure out what they have and what they don't.

Hammock Parties 10-01-2012 07:18 PM

The Cassel cadence thing is a very good issue that is rarely discussed.

Is it ever ANYTHING but OMAHA OMAHAsetgo!

Mix in a Nebraska once in awhile.

Yup, this, like many other average OC's, Daboll would look like a ****ing genius with this group of skill players & solid enough line.

We melt down every single year here, but this year its truly for real, an honest to God nightmare, even many league insiders were expecting some juice from KC this year.

I just dont understand how pioli thinks quinn or even stanzi could be any worse, they CANT be, a change would give the team something to RALLY around besides Grandpa Crennel.

Actually, I have discussed this. Omaha is Pats/Perkins terminology to snap the ball because of the playclock running out and the ball is snapped typically on the 2nd sound. That is how it was with Weiss and its being used in a similar manner here (although, we might be going on the 1st sound. I'd have to watch the games again, which really, I'd rather just nap).

The Giants run the same system and use the same word.
