Charles cannot continue to touch the ball 30+ times per game

RAC is ruining Charles to try and save his phoney-baloney job. It is unacceptable to mortgage any semblance of future this team has for a more palatable present. Clark Hunt may need to step in before the season's end in order to protect the players we do have.

I think the blame resides with Daboll on this issue.

Meh....this is what, his 5th season? RBs dont last long...might was well use our best weapon while hes in his prime.

If hes around 1,2,3,4 years down the road, great...if not, it will be someone else.

No. Daboll is trying to make chicken salad out of chicken shit with Cassel as his triggerman.

This bullshit is full on Pioli.

I'd agree if we hadn't just signed him to an extension.

And if we weren't such an inept franchise.

Shaid 10-07-2012 04:34 PM

He should get around 20 a game. He's a speed back coming off a knee injury. I'd like to still be able to use him in 2 or 3 years.

jspchief 10-07-2012 04:38 PM

You could tell he was gassed in the 3rd qtr. What's the point of continuing to pound him if he's not even effective?

KCDC 10-07-2012 04:39 PM

Agree strongly with OP that we are ruining JC in a meaningless season no less.

Draughns got 12 carries...Gray got 4. They probably should haven given Gray about 5 or 8 more carries.

The fact that a rare and precious talent like Jamaal Charles gets sacrificed in order to make a clown crew like Pioli, Crennel, Daboll, and Cassel look better is disgusting.

Jamaal has been a real life Madden game wet dream, the injury healing as if by miracle, looking brand spankin new while other star players similarly injured struggle to re-adjust.

But they are selling his soul, stressing the healing process to this extent so soon is nauseating and ridiculous, Draughn & Gray are starting to look like they might be a formidable duo in their own right, minus the Billie Ray Cyrus fumble.

He needs a solid rest the next few weeks, time for others to start building their careers, give him 15 total touches & no more, sneak him in like a sniper... no more driving a McClaren through a cornfield.

Simplicity 10-07-2012 07:54 PM

ThaVirus 10-07-2012 07:57 PM

I'd like to see 25-30 carries between Gray and Draughn next week. Keep Charles under 15..

the Talking Can 10-07-2012 07:57 PM

4 years of scott pioli and our offense consists of running charles into 11 in the box....all game

man that guy is a genious

Well, up to the day of the wild card game, it looked like the team was on the way up, and maybe just a QB away. All the math made sense. We - myself included - were all terribly wrong, but it wasn't a wild conclusion.

The surface seemed OK in '10, but everything just below it was infested with raunchy smelling AIDS. It was basically an AIDS tree adorned with a unicorn ribbon.

I really hate to say this because I would rather lose, but there is no chance Charles makes it through the year alive at this pace.

Hammock Parties 10-08-2012 12:24 AM

Yeah, it's a real concern if Quinn is the starter now.

I can see these morons giving him 400 carries.

He had 33 touches. We had 68 snaps.

All I saw was the ribbon. I thought Cassel needed to go, but I thought when that happened(haha when), it would be OK. Not that we were perfect, but that with a QB Pioli would figure the rest out well enough and in good time.

JCharles1981 10-08-2012 02:52 AM

The truth is that the Chiefs need an Offensive Coordinator who is going to balance out rushing and passing plays. The OC we had just before Todd Haley came in to coach completely wore out former RB Larry Johnson with an overabundance of running plays, and as a result, he eventually became a "2 season" wonder. You don't stick with primarily running plays unless the QB is literally incapable of executing most passes.

clyde05 10-08-2012 03:16 AM

We haven't seen what Quinn can do for the Chiefs yet, maybe he will be able to take some pressure off Charles. I already like that he looks downfield more then Cassel. Yes I know his past but new team with better talent can make a difference or Debs way of spelling it differance...lol

I am not holding my breath just yet. We saw the train wreck that was Tyler Palko early last season, and a less than stellar effort from the mid-season replacement Kyle Orton. Any QB who gets injured on the first play that he is brought in after the starter goes out cannot be that dependable. If Pioli had any sense in his head, he would have kept Tyler Thigpen instead of investing so many millions in Cassell.

AussieChiefsFan 10-08-2012 05:11 AM

Exactly. Towards the end the Ravens knew the run was coming AND JC was gassed. it's ridiculous.

This is exactly what we have in Matt Cassel you inept turd. LMAO

DeezNutz 10-08-2012 01:24 PM

Regarding running 75-80% of the time, RAC says, "Would you rather see a competitive game or see a 40-10 game?"

FFS. If that's not a glaring comment about the state of Pioli's Chiefs, I don't know what is.

Yes. No bullshit.

It's staggering. The question started with (paraphrasing), "Do you believe running 75-80 percent of the time is a viable offensive strategy in a passing league?"

RAC: "It is when you're gaining yards like we were yesterday."

Reporter: "Yes, but you didn't score any points. You had all that success and still scored only 6 points..."

And that's when RAC came with the competitive/40-10 game bullshit. Herm-io indeed.

Hammock Parties 10-08-2012 02:23 PM

Just read that we had 35 yards rushing in the second half against the Ravens. LMAO

- Jamaal Charles’ yards per carry dropped from 6.3 in the first half to 1.5 in the second half.

Deberg_1990 10-08-2012 02:56 PM

I can kind of see RACs point. He knew he was outgunned, so he tried to play conservative to avoid a shootout and protect Cassel. Fine. He should have adjusted in 2nd half when the Ravens did. Dude is a crappy head coach.

When Quinn entered the game, the team threw on third down. Why?

I was one of them, you guys were right... he sucks ass... the fact that he has yet to say a word about any of this & is atleast tacitly giving the media permission to destroy the character of the hands that feed him, is simply, totally enraging.

They should have started the play action pass. But the gameplan took the QB out of the game. If that's what you're reduced to, that QB should never have been in the game. Its almost like gameplanning for Tebow.
