Eric Winston is Full of Shit
And this video proves it....why doesn't anyone point out that it was flailing block attempt from his knees that sent his guy into Cassel
http://www.kctv5.com/story/19761458/...ce=twitterfeed |
Yeah - you hear a few idiots in there, but by in large that was nothing like what the media is making it out to be.
|
First sounded like cheering for JC making a big play resulting first down. Then just loud mumbling, then some clapping and some cheers for Cassell getting up and walking off the field that's pretty typical for any fans stadium.
|
Guys ... we need to get this video in front of the media wonks who have "reported" that Chiefs fans are stupid, classless rednecks.
The internet thing is rife with tools that can be used to make this happen. So, in the immortal words of Marty Schottenheimer, "Let's go to work." FAX |

Winston is a bitch....
|
Pretty much every news report I've seen has portrayed the fans as classless. They even lead with a "bad fans" line.
|
loved that Rich Baldinger called his ass out. I can't get those vid's into You Tube Format...but we need to separate them out. I am not letting this die. Set the truth right....
|
i'm guessing this video won't be mentioned by the 1000 outlets that ripped chiefs fans this morning...
|
I think Winston just got Butt hurt syndrome.
|
this needs to be sent 100000 times to winston's twitter
|
keep pushing it out...
Social media is powerful. |
Heh, Colin Herd about to discuss "Fan cheering Cassel getting hurt" after the commercial break.
|
Shared on my FB. Get it out there. DO WORK!
|
Just tweeted nine pics of my penis to Winston.

Covitz on Herds show right now defending fans. Saying that it was just fans cheering for a QB change, not for Cassel injury.
|
The fans just got blasted on ESPN, siding with Winston. They showed the hit but no audio. Pissholy is sucessfully turning the attention away from himself and onto the "disgusting fans" in KC

Cowherd didn't even seem interested, blamed it on some drunk fans and went to commercial...

First of all, yet another whiffed block by Winston is more responsible for this injury than any FAN.
2nd, there is a lot happening. During the running play, Most fans are still watching that play end, listening to the announcer. Bowe is encouraging fans to cheer....Quinn is getting up. Most fans cheering at that point are probably welcoming him to the game, and you hear plenty of clapping when Cassel is walking off of the field. Winston, Block more, talk less. |
do they announce players before games?
i hope we boo the shit out of winston the rest of the season |

I didn't hear anyone cheering when Cassel was on the ground. When he got up and walked off the field people clapped. Pretty typical.

Bam: ERIC WINSTON MUST BE BOO'D EVERYTIME HE IS INTRO'D AT ARROWHEAD.

That's just how he is. |
Winston is a turd.

This is all overblown. This was just an attempt by Winston to draw the attention away from this team's shitty play and direct it toward the fans. Hey we're playing like shit let's make up shit about the fans. If anyone is classless, it's Winston and the team not taking responsibility and owning up to an abysmal 1-4 start.

@Gochiefsva: http://t.co/TSJmaRAt. Better start working in your apology Eric @ericwinston @Whitlockjason @kcchiefs @espn

It looks to me like Winston was feeling some misplaced guilt about getting Cassel hurt.

Winston just let his emotions get the better of him. He then corrected his statement by saying he was pissed at all those who booed Cassel getting hurt. He is loyal to his QB. Plus, I'm sure he felt partly responsible. I'd love to have a guy like that have my back anytime, but especially if I was sucking as bad as Cassel at what I did for a living.

The guys on the Border Patrol are talking about it (and have been all morning). NOBODY is talking about how BAD Cassel played up to the point he was injured. EVERYBODY is talking about classless fans cheering an injury. |
Great video, thanks for finding it. Clearly shows that what Winston said was a crock of shit.
The most interesting thing about the video, is how few Chiefs kneeled down or even looked like they cared about Cassel being hurt, I think DMC/Winston were the only two that kneeled down. Funny moment when Pollard was kneeling and no other Chiefs were around. Cassel has killed this team's spirit and we are not the only ones who obviously want him to "don't go away mad, just go away". Just rewatched it, in the beginning Bowe takes off his helmet and just saunters off without a care in the world. |

He knows that the Chiefs will draw less listeners, so he is going to push it aside. Besides, if the Chiefs would have won, nobody would have said shit about the cheering. |
Looks like Bowe is leading the cheers lol

Eric Winston should be embarrassed. He should be embarrassed for his contribution to a team that's becoming a national laughing stock and a shameful public face of the city of Kansas City. Maybe he should work on getting a lead in a game for a change before he turns his focus on the fans who are rightfully embarrassed by the product he and his teammates have put on the field.
I don't think Cassel's injury should have been cheered, but the team, it's coaches, and Clark Hunt need to recognize their contribution to a situation where that happens. |
What's sad is Eric Winston is the 1 freakin guy on the whole team who actually has been stepping up to be the leader for this team. Now he's turned on the fans and they are turning on him. Would have been nice to have him anchor RT next year w/ our new franchise QB draftee. Maybe this misunderstanding will pass...
I was one who cheered taht moment. but here was the bigger picture. Jamaal made a helluva play, and I stood and cheered. Then saw Cassel was down, and I kinda (weakly really) cheered again, BECAUSE... because I knew KC had no choice but to make a change at that point. And yea, I was pretty damn happy about that. At no point am I cheering an injury to any player, Chief or otherwise. I hope we can get this message thru to Winston, cause I'd love for him to be here to protect rookie QB next year. Also, I stood and cheered when Cassel was ok and got up to walk off the field. |

Of course there is a "cut" in the video at the 12 second mark. What was covered up?

I'm reading all the comments flying on ESPN and these caught my eye! I laughed my balls off!
InTheWorld69 As a Cowboys fan I would cheer if Romo died on the field 8 fans like this. Luskersoup There are two ways Cassel could be healthy right now: 1) If guys like Winston actually blocked for once 2) If Cassel had been on the bench, like he should be http://espn.go.com/nfl/conversations...-cassel-injury |

Love how the media is al over this but none of them play the audio of the clips, or showing JC getting the first down.

He said the national media could "sit and spin". They weren't there and they haven't done their research. Instead, they're reporting on reporters who reported on what Winston said. Internet meme mentality in the mainstream media, as usual. |

One guy in the national media agrees that Winston is wrong.
Bill Plaschke @BillPlaschke Checked tape from KCTV5 and agree with followers..fans clearly cheering Cassel getting up, not going down..Winston wrong Expand Reply Retweet Favorite |

with Cassel you have to try and block a guy for 25 minutes until Cassel decides if he wants to force a wobbler launch into his first and only read he stares down for the entire defense to key on |

when I heard about Winstons comment I was like....HUH?!
I watched the game and I rewound that play several times for two reasons. 1 - I was trying to see exactly how he got hurt 2 - I was listening for the sounds of celebratory cheering Winston is wrong, he's emotional and he jumped the gun here. someone else already posted a PERFECT analysis of what really transpired. cheering for the play slowly comes to a halt as Chiefs nation realized Cassel was actually hurt and down, then cheering resumes when he got up and walked off. the press is stupid. **** off. PS - good job Quinn. good damn job! you shoulda had your first NFL TD pass bubba. good luck in tampa. |

Going on that video, I would certainly say Winston is completely full of shit.

Gary Pinkel is loving this.

What's this obsession Winston has with Gladiators?
He chose this life. It was a lifestyle choice. He loves Matt Cassel. He loves blocking for him. He loves huddling with Matt Cassel. He loves showering with..... OK TMI...... Drop it right there! |
So Winston is a lying bitch? Check.
|
**** Winston.
|
Any NFL fan in any city, would've been rightly horrified by that straight up reerun game plan, installed to protect one player, the most important player.
Its still mind boggling how this has been spun onto the fans. |
It's the only thing the chiefs organization is any good at anymore
|
Go **** yourself Winston.

I was sitting in the stands on the lower level. There was absolutely a vocal minority who cheered when it was apparent Cassel was down for the count. I actually remarked to my 10 year old that it wasn't right for some fans to cheer his injury to make a point to him. Were they cheering because he was hurt, or because it meant he'd be on the bench? I'm guessing the latter, but regardless it was bad form.
Charles had busted a nice run, and fans were cheering that play, as the video displayed. There was a delayed reaction to Cassel, as he was way behind the play and initially, he started to raise up as if he was going to drag himself to his feet. As he went back down and people brought their attention from Charles to Cassel, there was additional cheering. There's no doubt that happened. There is a cut in the video that excludes it. The vast majority of fans applauded when he was able to get to his feet and walk to the sidelines. IMO, Winston went overboard. He shouldn't have called out all fans, even if he tried to correct himself later in the rant. That said, I understand why he was fired up about it. |
This is crazy how in the same week the fans attempt to attack the organization, the organization is then attacking the fan base, and now all of the attention is directed at us.
And if Scott truly wanted to get on the good side of Chiefs fans, he'd come out and release a statement that downplays what Winston said. Instead Pioli is a little rat that will hide when things aren't going well, and he doesn't want to stick up for the fan base anyways. |
