Which team drafts #1?

Sadly, the schedule favors the Browns. My guess is they go 2-14 and the Jags 4-12. Chiefs, prolly 4-12.

Best case scenario is that the Colts come back to earth after the Pagano mojo wears off, RG3 continues to have concussion issues, and (of course) we lose the head to head.

Browns
Bengals - L
@Colts - Toss up
Chargers - L
Ravens - L
@Cowboys - Who knows
Steelers - L
@Raiders - Toss up
Chiefs - W (fingers crossed)
Redskins - L
@Broncos - L
@Steelers - L

Jags
@Raiders - Toss up
@Packers - L
Lions - L
Indy - L
@Houston - L
Tennessee - W
@Buffalo - W
Jets - L
@Miami - L
Pats - L
@Tennessee - Toss up

Chiefs
@Tampa - Toss up
Oakland - Winnable
@SD - L
@Pit - L
Cincy - L
Denver - L
Carolina - Winnable
@Cleveland - Toss up
@Oakland - L
Indy - Toss up
@Denver - L

Regardless, we need to trade up for Geno. Whatever it takes.

Yep, Whether we pick 3rd, 6th, or 13th, we need to do what it takes to put my boy on the field. If we whiff? So what, we tried. SAY NO to complacent mediocrity!

whoman69 10-09-2012 02:50 PM

I think you have to look beyond those teams. If you have a situation where Carolina is high and others are looking QB, they would be looking to get picks by trading down.

Mr. Laz 10-09-2012 03:28 PM

would be an idea time to trade Bowe to the Browns,Jags,Jets etc for a 1st round draft pick BEFORE they teams get locked into that position and the price goes up.

Quesadilla Joe 10-09-2012 03:32 PM

I bet the Browns do. And the new regime won't be tied to Weeden. Sadly, Geno goes to the Browns. Cleveland is a lot closer to WVU than KC is.

WTF does that have to do with anything? I mean hell how close is Indy to Stanford? :doh!:

Got to have a partner though. I mean if those other teams are convinced that Geno is the guy, you won't be able to trade into that spot.

Just have to win (err I mean lose) this thing outright. :thumb:

You sound like Chiefs fans who predicted Manning would get injured as soon as he signed with Denver.

When Geno Smith is a Chief, your little party at the top of the AFC West is over.

Possible. Quinn will cooperate. The Browns need a couple wins though.

No way that happens.

The Browns have a new owner that will clean house completely once the seasons ends.

He'll never let Holmgren trade away future draft picks.

Rausch 10-09-2012 04:21 PM

Browns.

Out of the 3 teams listed the Chiefs are the most likely to get hot/lucky and win a few garbage games at the end of the year...

What a ****ing moron, the Chiefs are going 12-4 !

Maybe 11 n 5 for real though.

cdcox 10-09-2012 06:54 PM

New Orleans still has the best draft odds at 22% chance at drafting number 1. Of course they could keep playing better, I recognize that.

KC, Cleveland, Jacksonville, and Tampa are all bunched together after that, each with a 15% chance of drafting number 1.

Chiefs lose to Tampa this weekend and I think we are in the drivers seat for the #1 pick until the Cleveland game (which of course, we'll need to lose as well)

Go Orange teams this Sunday! (Tampa, Browns)

whoman69 10-09-2012 07:04 PM

The Browns have drafted a QB in three of the last 7 drafts, two of those being first rounders. I'm not certain they will want to give up so quickly on Weeden as they realize the talent around him needs to mature and get better. I think the Jags will definitely look to replace Gabbert. Titans will probably stick with Locker. Raiders would look QB. Saints are locked into their choice as are the Panthers. Bucs could look to replace Freeman. Lions will not replace Stafford. Of the two win teams perhaps the Jets, Cowboys and Bills would be looking. So out of those teams plus the Chiefs we have the Jags, Raiders, Bucs, Jets, Cowboys and Bills to worry about. I don't expect the Cowboys to be that low as they will finish around .500. I think our competition will be the Jags and Raiders. As bad as we are, they may be worse.

kcxiv 10-09-2012 07:05 PM

to early to tell, wont know all that much til about week 10 imo.

RunKC 10-09-2012 08:03 PM

You guys seem to forget that this is the hard part of our schedule. We're going to win some games.

I wouldn't be surprised if we go on a 3 game winning streak to beat the Raiders, Browns and Colts later in the year.

But still...5-11 at best.

qabbaan 10-09-2012 08:35 PM

The Browns have been in games and scored a few non garbage time points. They run the football. They are not awful on defense. They are definitely better than us.

Plus Haden is back this week so that should help them be more competitive.

CanadianChief 10-09-2012 09:01 PM

Is it still possible that Barkley might go ahead of Smith next year or has Geno become the clear cut #1 guy?

Chief Roundup 10-09-2012 09:20 PM

To early to tell. There are to many things that can and will happen.

jd1020 10-09-2012 09:36 PM

Depends on how Romeo/Daboll scheme with Quinn. If it's anything like the final drive against the Ravens (we actually passed the ball!) then it probably wont be us.

Going with the Browns.

I don't see him surpassing Smith, no. It took an Andrew Luck to beat out RGIII (and not by much, either). And Barkley is no Luck. Not even close.

Is it in the NFL? How is WVU being closer to Cleveland than KC give Cleveland any kind of advantage? Would Geno decline going to KC? NVM, scratch that question.

tk13 10-09-2012 11:50 PM

Usually the team with the worst record. Easy thread.

BlackHelicopters 10-10-2012 07:01 AM

Count on us to screw this up and win a few games. Sadly, this organization is content with consistent profit and poor product.

In a way, we should thank Eric Winston. I'll bet he convinced at least a few dozen more fans not to attend the next home game.

Every little bit helps...
