Conspiracy Theorists Unite
Okay, so I have heard many conspiracy theories on here from:
1. Pioli contolled the gameday roster, which forced Haley to play Cassel. 2. Pioli stated that Stanzi would not play in his first season, which essentially forced Haley to play (and take the heat for) Palko when Cassel and Orton were injured. 3. Pioli still controlls the gameday roster and Crennel has no choice but to play Cassel. ASSUMING that ALL of the above is true..........Why wouldn't Pioli do something to prevent the Notre Dame golden boy from being successful such as limit the play calling or restrict downfield passing? If his ego is a big as they say and knowing the fanbase is digging in for an assault...........wouldn't he do everything in his power to give the appearance that Cassel is the best option? Haley definately appears to have been the scapegoat at this point. What say you? |
Its Win Win for Pioli at this point
|
We've also heard that the game plan is to run, run, run again this Sunday so if true, it seems he is doing that.
|
I think there would be a protest if a GM tried to control playcalling.
Such a thing has never happened, IMO. |

I honestly believe that even Pioli will not put Cassel back on this fanbase. With as much attention as we brought him, Hunt, and the city... everyone in the US knows this fanbase hates Cassel.
Pioli will be rooting for Quinn to succeed so he can look like a genius for bringing him in. And yes, I do believe in the OP's list 1-3 are true. |

Why do you think this is a conspiracy? It seems like a realistic situation to me
|
I could believe that Pioli forces Cassel to start, but the playcalling has been altered because Cassel cannot throw. I think Cassel was read the riot act which is why he audibled out of a pass several times on Sunday. Cassel will have to survive as a game manager. I will reserve judgement on the rest until I see them go 75% run with Quinn under center.
|
It's dumb that Pioli wouldn't want Quinn to succeed. He signed the guy for ****'s sake. This place is reeruned sometimes.
|
If Quinn sucks Pioli can say "Well, we tried fans but Cassell is clearly the better QB"
And if Quinn does good he can say "Well we tried with Cassell, he did go the Probowl and everything but, you know, you can never tell with the mental stuff. Anyways I kindve anticipated this would happen so with my ingenious superior intellect I brought in Brady and you see, Im smart huh?" |

just shows how smart Pioli is when it comes to QB's. he got lucky when he drafted Brady or TB was Bill Bellichicks pick. |
Here's what I know...
We've seen this before w/ Damon Huard, when a QB loses all faith in his ability to perform, when they're up against the ropes and everyone and their mothers are rooting against them and hoping they fail, they just give up. That's what Cassel did. You saw it in his face. He gets rattled when the fans boo him....we've all seen that on the CBS camera. Cassel was talking to Pioli on the phone right before that possession Cassel was not hit in the head at any point...whether it be from a player or the fall he took. The gameplan was designed to prevent him from throwing the football, yet he still managed to turn the ball over like a rookie QB who was in way over his head playing professionally in the NFL. I honestly don't think Cassel would do well in the CFL. I really firmly believe that. |
We have no idea who Cassel was talking to.
Or even if he was talking to anyone, since there's no footage of it. And, as the GIF showed, he was definitely hit in the head. He was driven into the helmet of another player. Direct contact. This has gotten stupid. |
Yes, he was hit in the head. Clay I believe posted the freaking still of it.

It wasn't Crennel, Daboll or Zorn ....who else would it have been? |

you probably missed it. i believe i even posted about it on CP in the game thread as soon as it happened. |

It doesn't exist. |
OK, here is your phone call. Look at the time on the clock.
http://i.imgur.com/ieCav.jpg This not even CLOSE to the time he's hurt. It's not even before the same possession. After this phone call he goes on the field for a possession, the Chiefs get a couple of first downs and wind up punting after Dexter's penalty. He gets hurt on the NEXT possession. |
Romeo degrading Quinn before he even starts is an interesting topic. I don't think I've ever heard Crennel speak negatively about a player, but he sure seemed to when asked about Quinn. Why? He afraid the fans will be disappointed in his performance when put up against the shitfest quarterbacking we have bore witness to the last 4 years? An opening to make sure that Cassel gets his job back when he's "cleared" to play again? I don't think Romeo is smart enough to think too far in the future. Why would Pisoli have Crennel talk about Quinn the way he did? It's got to be so that His Precious can lead the team again don't you think?

There's a huge conspiracy regarding Pioli and Cassel. Ever since they were brought into this organization, there's been something shady going on behind closed doors. Anyone else find it fishy how the year after New England loses the bowl, Brady gets injured in the first game against us, Cassel starts - year later, Pioli goes there and signs Matt. It just seems odd the team that injured Brady and gave Cassel his first start was the team Pioli went too. I don't know, I just have always felt like there's a huge conspiracy within the nfl.
|
I know this has nothing related to the chiefs but does anyone find it weird how Goodell let Sean Payton attend that game, and it's also weird how Brees broke the record against his former team. Sometimes I think the nfl is really rigged.

Perhaps with all the talent on the Cheaps that was discussed by the talking heads and the prediction that KC would win into the playoffs this year, Pisoli had to tank the season to protect his New England Patriots?

always in for a good conspiracy!!!
nice job |
Flowers intercepts the pass from Flacco and returns it to the Baltimore 37.
Cassel burns a costly timeout after Charles gets hit for a one yard loss...right after the wasted timeout, Cassel throws an interception and the crowd starts chanting "We want Quinn...We want Quinn" you can hear it on the TV. The pick was a high throw, but that pick was on Bowe. Then, they flash to Cassel sitting by himself on the bench and when they flash back to him moments later, Daboll is showing him stills and Daboll gets up and walks away. When they flash back to Cassel, that's when you see the pick of him on the phone with you know who...probably reassuring him that the pick wasn't his fault and to keep it together. My friend was right behind that part of the bench and called me to say Cassel looked disappointed after the call and visably distraught. I think he got his bell rung and have little doubt he got a concussion...but I also think the time when he was gonna get pulled was drawing near. |
