Sports Illustrated's 15 Most Underrated Players.
 

Conducted via a poll of 198 NFL players, of whom some apparently do not know the definition of the term 'underrated'. But hey, it's news, and for the most part they really do seem like underrated players.

I find #12 to be the most eye-opening.

So I just looked up Evan Mathis. The guy is 30, and this is only his third season as a starter. Now that's underrated.

There is maybe 2-3 guys on that whole list who are actually underrated.

Hell, some of the guys on that list are overrated.

London Fletcher is a cool name. England Arrowmaker FTW.

They got #1 right but after that.....it's pretty much bullshit.

While some of them may seem silly, especially Andre Johnson, I can see an argument for guys like Jones-Drew, EManning, and Welker on this list. They're elite guys in production, but they aren't considered the elite guys at their position. People will always list these three below guys like Peterson and Brees and Fitzgerald. But when you measure production, are they?

So I can see an argument that these guys are underrated, in that they're considered 'good' when they produce at the level of 'elite'.

Now Andre Johnson, that one I don't get. When healthy, he's pretty much judged at the Calvin Johnson/Larry Fitzgerald level. He's not underrated unless he's actually much better than those guys.

Eli Manning?
