Appreciation for "the movement"
Sorry not a poop thread.
I know a lot of people have expressed their appreciation to those responsible for the movement in motion by us fans in the stickys and that's awesome, but a lot of that gets buried. Some folks will see this as a waste of bandwidth because of that, which is fair, but imo what has been done and continues to be done moving forward is worth a place to just say thanks. pr_capone started it all and continues as the driving force. I'm not sure he even knew the impact his actions were going to have in the beginning. Marty Mac Ver 2.0 is taking the ball and running. GoChiefs has been working on a video that is said to be epic (with the help of others I believe) As a Chiefs fan who isn't local to the KC area anymore but is just as sick and tired of the state of the team over the last several years it's inspiring to see the best fans on earth not only say enough is enough, but actually put their actions and efforts where their mouth is (and money). This may end up not only being the greatest fan movement of all time but may actually help bring change in the end. I don't have the extra funds to help right now but seeing the banner, the media coverage, the action taking place is just as satisfying to me as it is to you all who are donating and working to make this cause happen. So thank you for taking it upon yourselves to make a difference. All of us "true Chiefs fans" are following along and cheering it on. It's great to see. Those who don't get it are part of the problem. I know I left people out so feel free to name names. All this effort deserves our thanks, appreciation and praise. |
Make a differance!
|
AND a point!
|
(p.s.) we all know how this started
|
Proud to say i was here when it all started.
Kudos to pr_capone, Marty Mac and GoChiefs and everyone else involved. |
Let's not pat ourselves on the back just yet. Everyone involved with SOC has done a great job so far, but there's work left to do. Keep at it!

I actually thought people would want to respond to this.
LMAO |
I can confirm the video is amazing but it's a little bit bigger than that. A Nashville based Chiefs fan wrote a song and performs it, Clay put his video twist on it which is pure genius but this is the artist's baby. Hope to have it up tomorrow if everything goes smoothly tonight.

Nah - I'm not musically talented necessarily. I was only hanging out because there were a couple of elements I wanted done my way. But I don't have any idea what I'm doing.
|
Not a chiefs fan myself but am incredibly impressed by the SOC movement.

I don't think we've had any differences. I didn't really do anything except put some people together on this thing. I'm good at that. I did help write. I was good at that too, I think. But I think the artist deserves most of the credit on this one. I should probably shut up and let the stupid video come out. If it sucks I just look stupid.

I'm pulling for you guys to get this done. As long as Pioli doesn't get hired if we fire Tannenbaum. A bit of karma for the Herm trade
|
gotta love the planet!!!
what can i do? (well, besides leaving my own movement in a few minutes :) ) |

No rival fan can put us in our place like we can though. |
The recognition of decades of suffering has blown up to proportions i never could have hoped for, the major player media outlets have FINALLY started talking about this.
Thanks to everyone, KC is a consistently voiceless doormat no longer... Win or Die. |

You guys, the founders of this movement, are the reason why I decided to quit being a lurker. You are the reason why I decided to donate my hard earned money to people I don't know and will probably never meet. It's very, very rare to find individuals on the Internet that actually put their money where their mouth is. Especially on the Internet. Most people spend their time behind an anonymous name, saying and doing things they would never do in real life. Your passion, effort, dedication and personal time being spent to try to make a meaningful change to something that most other people can only complain about, means the world to me. I'm a 47 year old long time season ticket holder that has finally found an avenue to to vent my frustrations in a way that I know will have some meaning. Hopefully someday I can watch the team that I've grown to expect to disappoint me, actually make me proud. If that day ever comes, it will be in part because of what you guys started here.
Whether you want to hear it or not....... Thank You! |
I'll drink to this thread... Oh, and I am!!!:thumb::thumb:

That was one of the darkest periods in the history of this board. The only thing worse than opposing fans coming here and acting like overtly-obnoxious jerks is opposing fans coming here and acting like they feel sorry for us while rubbing our noses in our misfortune. |
You don't have to donate to the cause to be part of it. Its your facebook posts, your tweets, the movement is YOU. Its your voice, its your spirit.
Appreciate the movement. Appreciate yourself. Appreciate that you are standing up for something you believe in, even if it might not mean as much to other fans, other people, other worlds. Keep the pressure on, until the seed gives birth to the fruit of decades of frustration. |

Thanks guys. Thanks for the positive impact you've had on the Chiefs. |
I've never been more proud to be sort-of associated with people I don't know doing things I didn't think could be done. As soon as I stop attempting to type I'm going to sit here and applaud. Stand, even.

Funny how everybody wants credit for it. We ALL get credit. It's a team effort. We're all winning.

it needed to be done 10+ years ago .....
