Can somebody explain the Pioli contract numbers?
Is it cheaper for Clark to fire Pioli this year? I'm confused because he reportedly wanted a buyout plan in the rumored extension?
If so how much would Clark save? And wouldn't Clark be paying for Pioli, Romeo, Haley, a new GM and a new HC all next year? Thanks |
**** if i know

Haley took another job so they don't pay shit for him.

They are who we thought they were.

If they fire Scott they would owe him for the rest of this year and next. Around 7.5M
If they fire Romeo after the season they would owe him for the remaining 2 years or 8M if he doesn't find work elsewhere. The buy out language would only be if Scott is extended. So say he gets 2 more years, but Clark could buy him out of it for X dollars instead of what's remaining on the contract. |

Haley was fired for cause and they paid him nothing. |

But from what I've heard, he was fired "with cause" and his contract was voided. If he got any money, it was completely under the table and therefore hush money. |

The NFL is a good old boys club - he would have had a hard time getting employed by anyone had he started popping off to the media. |

Pioli has a "lifetime" contract. Scary.

Hard to say... depends what the language in his contract says. Also, there is alot of speculation that he might have a new contract.
One thing is for sure. If he gets fired, it will be because of the fans. I believe he has a new contract and Clark doesn't want to fire him partly because of it. |
