What's it like?
What's it like on this site when the team is actually winning games?:hmmm:
|
Our only legit team since the boards inception couldn't play defense so I'm pretty sure there is no answer to this question yet.
|
See, threads like this is why Sorter won the n00b of the year award

But cut me some slack, what other useless threads have I started? |

It is like Bizarro CP. Everyone is positive about everybody, even Matt Cassel was once liked on CP.

I am sure you will still have people on here complaining that we didn't win by enough. We had a close call and so and so should have done this or that differently. It's CP; we love to argue and complain, or it's just ingrained in us after all this losing.
Stay tuned, we may never find out. |

Everyone is mad that our draft position is getting screwed up.

we don't know. the board has only existed for 11 years.
|
I never really liked Matt Cassel...I used to use him as evidence in my Brady/Manning debate saying "even Matt Cassel would win 12 games with Belichick" and then he won 11 which I found hilarious.
However, I will admit, I tried (TRIED) talking myself into him a few times in the offseason and then in 2010 but I finally saw the light...the dude can't make NFL throws. He blows. GOD |

Ill never forget the furious Chiefsplanet Word or Okoye debate of 1991:

Well, last time we had a good year I had to run around telling everyone we were frauds. I was right, of course.
It was a glorious battleground. |
Trent used to get destroyed on this board....
|
Shit man, I remember when we were scoring 30 pts a game and all people bitched about were the wide recievers not being good enough. Gotta love it ROFL
|
IIRC, the board becomes somewhat less active. People don't log on to talk about the glorious wins as much after game day. Currently, they tend to log on to bitch and moan and vent and play cudda, wudda, shudda. Also the draft becomes less important talk.

Pre-CP = KC Star board. We bitched about MartyBall. Do great during the regular season, then sh*t his self post season...repeatedly.

I don't remember. CP didn't exist in the 90's.
|
You know the holocaust? It's the exact opposite of that.
|
It's not actually that much different. People have always been slanted more towards the pessimistic side here. Or as I like to call it, "realistic".
Then again, they've never really done all that much winning in the life of the board. 2003 was kind of an aberration. |
I don't really think its much different. There are way more active members now than say 2003 I think so it may be quiet different if we started winning now.
|
whats it like to root for a winning team? whats that like?
|
I can't recall the taste of food... nor the sound of water... nor the touch of grass. I'm... naked in the dark, with nothing, no veil... between me... and the wheel of PIOLI!!!!

What's this 'winning' thing you speak of?

Most of us were surprised it took as long as it did given that defense. |
I don't think it's like a trip to an Oregon mall!
|
Not nearly as different as one would think.
It is still bitch bitch bitch |
And this cat is from New England, so it might not be all that..

Lots of truth here. Gameday after wins is always slower. But during the week more traffic evens it out. I used to spend a lot of time analyzing stats and making correlations to specific events. Losses generate more immediate traffic because everybody wants to bitch. But winning teams create more steady traffic during the week because more fans are interested in dropping in and following the details of their team. I'll bet our traffic is going to get slower and slower through the last few games and then pick up again as the current staff gets turned over and football fans become interested in playoff teams.
|
If you have a decent team, you bitch when you miss the playoffs. If you make the playoffs as a Wild Card, you bitch because you didn't win the division. If you win the division, you bitch if you don't win a playoff game. If you win one playoff game, you bitch because you were one-and-done. If you win more than one playoff game, you bitch because you didn't win the Super Bowl. If you win the Super Bowl, you bitch because now "your year" is over/your draft position sucks/your coaches are probably going to get hired away/that's only one Super Bowl. It just goes on and on and on...

2004 offseason was a lot of fun. Fired Robinson! Hired Gunther! Look at that white horse gallop!
Then there was the whole offseason before with Hugh Douglas, which is now a CP meme which half the people here posting probably don't even know about. And then there was the offseason of GoMults. So, yeah. |
Surely the 2003 season was awesome on here? I mean at least the first half of it.
Winning at Baltimore and Green Bay was so ****ing awesome and Dante punking the Donkeys was something amazing in itself. |

It was incredible. I've never heard the stadium this loud... and I was at the San Diego MNF game when Tamarick Vanover ran one back in overtime... wasn't as loud as when Dante ran that TD back. |
