Schefter: Chiefs leaning towards firing Pioli
Schefter: Chiefs mulling big change
December, 30, 2012 DEC 30 1:50PM ET By Bill Williamson | ESPN.com ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Sunday that he expects the Kansas City Chiefs to fire coach Romeo Crennel. As for general manager Scott Pioli, Schefter reports the Chiefs -- mired in a miserable 2-13 season -- are leaning toward firing Pioli. If I had to guess, I’d say both Crennel and Pioli are going to be fired. They are a package deal. I think if the Hunt family had its druthers, it would give both men another chance. But the fan fury is so great in Kansas City, I think the Hunts will be compelled to make a move. I don’t think firing one of the two and keeping the other will work. Pioli has hired two coaches -- Todd Haley and Crennel -- since joining the Chiefs in 2009. I don’t necessarily think he will get a chance to hire a third. If that is what is the case, I think the Chiefs will likely make a clean sweep and hire a new general manager (Bill Polian, anyone?) first and then a head coach. We shall soon see. I don’t think the Hunts will wait long before making a decision. http://espn.go.com/blog/afcwest/post...ing-big-change |
This coming from Schefter is big

OK. Finally! Now this is a report that makes sense. GET THE **** OUT!!!!!

thank god
|
There you go. Credible report.
|
This is getting ****ing silly.
it's as bad as the Manning drama. See you guys when something actually happens Posted via Mobile Device |
If this is true, much respect to SOC and all the other fans that have made their displeasure known. However, it doesn't change the fact that the Hunts seem dumb as **** to not be able to fire Pioli's ass for his obvious failures.
|
I am going to blow something if he stays. Call 911.
|
From all these conflicting reports, sounds like Clark really has not decided yet.
|
This is the same guy who said we hired Shany too, isn't it?

that's the worst part
that Clark has not even decided yet and can still be swayed either way. That is sad. |

Shit, I didn't even need a report. Anyone who has done their job as Pioli has done his is going to be fired, especially in the NFL where you've got to put up winning seasons. |

This sounds more like an opinion more than an actual Chiefs report...
The whole thing is littered with "I" and "think." |

From NFL.COM
According to NFL.com's Steve Wyche, the Kansas City Chiefs are expected to retain general manager Scott Pioli despite a disastrous season, according to a source briefed on the situation. Coach Romeo Crennel won't be as fortunate. The source said Crennel likely will be fired, although no final decision has been made on the coach's future. Chiefs owner Clark Hunt has strong feelings for Pioli and wants to give him another shot to get things right, the source said. |
Mostly this report is Williamson's and Schefter's personal opinion. A source is implied only in the second paragraph. I hope he's right, but I still worried as heck.

Just to be sure I would have a plane with a banner that reads ( Remember the Fans) ready to fly over Clarks house just before he meets with Pioli.
You never know how these things could go |

I don't know why Scott wouldn't even be embarrassed enough to resign.
If I was terrible at my job and everyone hated me I would lay low and find something else I was good at. |

Danny Parkins said himself that Clark is very reluctant to do this because he is close to Pioli and really wanted this to work out. Said it's like breaking up with a girlfriend. It's not easy but you have to ****ing do it and move forward.

Good. Gooood

There is no ****ing way Clark likes Pioli personally after he told CBS to talk about the blackout.
|
clark doesn't want to give up the long, slow handys they give each other in his jacuzzi...
|
He is gone. If he was staying all the media outlets would have been on this and Pioli's butt buddies in the media would have been giving handy's out today.

There's a metric ton of bullshit in a lot of these threads.
Clark told CBS to talk about the blackout? C'mon now. |

Perhaps he used telepathy.

Clark loves Pioli. If he didn't, he would have been fired mid year around the same time the Panthers let Marty Hurney go. |
That has more to do with Clark wanting to do things the right way.
There is no way he likes him after he told CBS to embarrass him on a broadcast. |

Yeah ... we are now informed that Clark has strong feelings for Pioli. Strong feelings. For.
There must be a side of Dr. Evil that we simply haven't seen. The soft, cuddly, loving and affectionate aspect of his personality. FAX |
