I would LOVE Cowher but I don't think he or Dungy would give up their current positions.

Let's post a new thread every 2 hours with a different variation on the question of who will be the Chiefs HC and or GM in 2013.

Is that your final answer?

milkman 12-30-2012 08:36 PM

It depends on who the GM is.

If it's still Pioli, then you have 2 or candidates, at best.

Josh McDaniel, Eric Mangini or possibly Bill O'Brien.

Anyone else?

Who the hell knows?

My 2nd choice after David Shaw, who got a long term contract from Stanford. :(

But hiring McCoy is a good way to throw a wrench into the Donks' playoff wheel.

I remember when USC hired our OC during our playoffs (Marty's time) and it sure as hell affected us negatively.

The same Nick Saban who was 15-17 with the Miami Dolphins and picked Daunte Culpepper over Drew Brees in free agency?

I'd be more than serious about Saban if I could be assured of his sense of loyalty. I don't want him to pull on us what he pulled on the Phins. Otherwise, hell of a coach.

I don't think that was Saban's decision.

I remember they were about to sign Brees actually and it got nix'd at the last second. I'd take a guess that decision was due to the dumbass GM they had at the time.

Saban was bringing them up. Wasn't he hired after the team went winless or close to it?

The Brees thing was the shitty FO's thing. I don't think Saban had dominance over that decision.

My memory is a bit fuzzy though.

Hoover 12-30-2012 08:56 PM

Clark is going to go with a name brand hire, which is what he thought he was doing with Pioli.

That means,

Tier One: Tony Dungy, Bill Cowher, Andy Reid, Mike Holmgren, or Jon Gruden.
Tier Two: Nick Saban or Chip Kelly
Tier Three: Tom Clements, Bruce Arians, Mike Zimmer, or Kyle Shanahan

petegz28 12-30-2012 08:59 PM

If Pioli is still here then no one worth a shit.

nychief 12-30-2012 09:02 PM

We are going to hire Mike Sherman. Ugh.

Shox 12-30-2012 09:05 PM

If Pioli is still in charge I think the list of "realistic" choices will be much smaller. None of the successful coaches are going to want to have anything to go him....so the Grudens, Cowhers, & Reids of the NFL will not even be seen in KC.

So, my early prediction with the tea leaves reading Pioli is still in charge would be McDaniels. I'm getting sick just thinking about it being a possibility.

No need to do that. Don't you remember who Josh McDaniels favorite QB is? (Hint: McDaniels pissed off Jay Cutler because of his man-crush on this QB, and that's why Cutler wound up leaving the Broncos).

Josh McDaniels <> Good times

I cannot believe he is ready. Afterall who do you think is most responsible for the skins success? It's Daddy Shanahan of course.

Hiring him could be a strike of genius but it could be a disaster as well. Like Shanny's term with the Raiders. Just not ready.

Not a name that will come to fruition, but I'm shocked Mike Singletary hasn't gotten a second look yet. He is a disciplinarian that some players responded to in his SF days. I liked his leadership and energy.

The smart thing to do would be to wait a few weeks for someone to be canned or resign.. That being said, I'm sure Pioli will make his decision on which NE assistant comes in and takes over here in the next few days.

HMOG no,no,no.

As to the Saban talk...Colin had him on for a few minutes a few weeks back and he said he would come to the nfl but that he and Lombardi would e a package deal because part of why he didn't succeed in Miami was because the gm didn't se the same grading system he wanted and that they didn't get him the kind of players he wanted.

Here's the bad part of that...Pioli uses the same grading system.

Scary that its possible Saban could be Piolis third coaching hire.

mcaj22 12-31-2012 01:38 AM

People really need to watch that 95 Browns Football Life that aired this season and from that small hour show you will get any of our coaching options lol

KCrockaholic 12-31-2012 01:40 AM

After a while of contemplating about it, I think I'd be on board with Jack Del Rio. Of course I still want Chip Kelly more than anybody else. But Del Rio should be on our radar.

BossChief 12-31-2012 01:42 AM

**** Jack Del Rio.

mcaj22 12-31-2012 01:44 AM

pretty sure even that turd Jack Del Rio told Pioli to go **** himself

how sad is that, cant even get Del Rio to sniff us with Egoli around

There have been O'brien rumors about jumping to the NFL. It actually would make perfect sense if Pioli is still here.

Personally, I would prefer Jay Gruden or Andy Reid.

Ace Gunner 12-31-2012 07:17 AM

Josh Mcd is the only guy I can see coming here. Pioli isn't going to roll the dice on a Jay Gruden or Mike McCoy type guy. He might try for Mike Sullivan, but again, I doubt he would take a chance at all with this hire.
