Soren: Bill Cowher Not Interested

He said it on the radio just a few minutes ago. Said Cowher is not going to field any team this season, has zero interest in leaving the media.

I yield the floor to the Cowher wackos.

ptlyon 01-02-2013 01:06 PM

Chirp chirp chirp

CoMoChief 01-02-2013 01:06 PM

He must have found out Cassel is out the door too.

Mr_Tomahawk 01-02-2013 01:06 PM

Shocker...

Imon Yourside 01-02-2013 01:07 PM

Time to put another BS rumor to rest.

HolyHat 01-02-2013 01:07 PM

Well I guess I can go back to pissing on my balls again...

ToxSocks 01-02-2013 01:07 PM

Most people knew that already.

Phobia 01-02-2013 01:09 PM

I thought he was going to be all about Carolina.

Bill Cowher is a brand these days -- the Corporates line up for him whenever the line to him gets lean.

My guess is, he'll never return to coaching. Why take a chance ruining your brand.

alpha_omega 01-02-2013 01:12 PM

This is good news IMO

Deberg_1990 01-02-2013 01:14 PM

Does this mean Martys not coming back as well?

Well, we can count on Bill Parcells/Pioli tagteam now :D

Messier 01-02-2013 01:16 PM

He's been saying that for weeks.

LMAO

Mmmkay......

I think anyone with a functional brain knew that Cowher wasn't coming back to Coaching....just Like Gruden and Billick.

WTF are you talking about? Lol.

The subject was debated. It's not like anyone actually THOUGHT he was coming out of retirement.

Reaper16 01-02-2013 01:23 PM

I figured as much as soon as it was reported that Clark was flying out to interview Andy Reid.

Predarat 01-02-2013 01:23 PM

Get used to this, until cHunt has the sense to get rid of Pioli this will keep happening, until the Chiefs are down to Cordinators nobody even wants as Codinators. Once Polly is gone the coaching field will get a lot better, hope cHunt has the sense to pull the trigger soon.

It'll happen soon.

If you consider December 2013 "soon" :D

Sweet Daddy Hate 01-02-2013 01:45 PM

There was never a possibility.

FloridaMan88 01-02-2013 01:47 PM

Bill Cowher and Jon Gruden love to watch their names floated into HC rumors to light up Internet message boards.

Silock 01-02-2013 01:53 PM

If it came from Soren, then there's a pretty good chance the opposite is true.

O.city 01-02-2013 01:54 PM

Petro broke this story?

Shit I bet Cowher has already signed in KC.

Or, it's a completely reeruned statement...

Scorp 01-02-2013 01:56 PM

My source says Cowher is house shopping in Olathe. :Poke:

O.city 01-02-2013 01:56 PM

I'm pretty sure Cowher was basically the guy Clark was talking about in all those interviews that he wanted to bring in, based on the fact that everything he said fit what Cowher specifically is rumored to want in a job.

Whether he wants to do it or not is a completely different story.

The longer they stay away the more I feel they would suck coming back.

I saw him in Best Buy.

That description could also be applied to Reid.....

It could very well be.

But based on the fact that Marty is said to be an advisor, you can read the tea leaves.

DaWolf 01-02-2013 02:02 PM

Everything I've heard is that Cowher would only be willing to coach the NY Giants once that job opens up...

Hammock Parties 01-02-2013 02:03 PM

Good.

It's Reid.

News Flash: Bill Cowher was never interested in coaching the Kansas City Chiefs

Easy 6 01-02-2013 02:32 PM

Thats fine, if you have to beg a guy for this job... then he isnt the one you want.

RockChalk 01-02-2013 02:34 PM

Listening to Gottlieb's new show on CBSRadio. He's interviewing Cowher right now and he just confirmed he has no interest in coaching in 2013

Iowanian 01-02-2013 02:40 PM

Great news.

I'd much prefer a coach with the ability to coach in today's NFL and not one stuck in yesterday.

I was going to post this as well. He did say he had several strong feelers out there and thought about them, but he is enjoying broadcasting.

Basically Cowher's interview and Marty's intel from earlier all confirmed that Clark did contact Cowher about the job.

DV was a rare case in which several factors allowed him to grow. First he was doing things the same old way and then he had a training camp revolt. If that wouldn't have happened I doubt he'd have went anywhere. The next thing going for him was his age. He simply was unable to pull the same load as he used to. This allowed for greater delegation. Without his openness to delegating responsibilities I really, really doubt DV wins a superbowl in ST.L. and has the success that we had here.

mcaj22 01-02-2013 04:41 PM

well he at least he thought about us

kind of neat

I have a feeling you're not going to be too excited about who they do pick. I see clark going all in on Reid.

Watch him bring in Norv Turner.

hey my guy said that Clark contacted Cowher first. He was the #1 choice. Now in fairness the dude has only been right 50% of the time but still........ he looks to be spot on on this one.

Who's your guy say our next coach will be?

BlackHelicopters 01-02-2013 05:10 PM

How much do Cowher, Sharpe, Marino, et al pull down? Looks like a good gig.

I doubt it pays like an NFL head coach, but I'm guessing it's in the millions. With A LOT more time at home with the kids and such. So yeah, probably a GREAT gig.

bowener 01-02-2013 05:50 PM

Cowher/Gruden probably love their names being thrown around. They can probably use it to drive up their salary to stay on TV.

The figure that I tracked down said Cowher was making 3.4 Million per year.
