Ravens' Lewis set to join ESPN in retirement

Quote:

ESPN is on the verge of adding Ray Lewis to its talent lineup.

Multiple sources told SI.com the Ravens linebacker is close to signing a multi-year contract with the network. At ESPN, Lewis is expected to have a significant role on the network's Monday Night Countdown program. As with most ESPN NFL talent, Lewis would also be featured on multiple platforms, including ESPN Radio.

No formal announcement from Lewis or the network is expected until the conclusion of the Ravens season. Lewis announced Wednesday that he planned to retire at the end of Baltimore's season. The Ravens host the Colts on Sunday in the AFC WIld Card round.

An ESPN spokesperson declined comment when contacted Thursday morning.

According to multiple sources, Lewis and his representatives from talent agency William Morris Endeavor met during the season with several of the NFL broadcast networks.

Yeah I have. Inside the NBA is ****ing awesome.

Rain Man 01-03-2013 10:32 AM

Lewis will be as bad as Bill Walsh, who only used his position to brag about himself. Neither of these gentlemen could get past their own ego to talk about others in an objective manner. And at least one of them was involved in a murder.

Yeah, Charles Barkley is easily the best ex-athlete broadcaster in the history of TV.

I'm not sure what a sports commitator does?

I can't wait to listen to a spirited marble discussion with Ray Lewis, Shannon Sharpe and Michael Irvin.

Barkley can't even finish his sentence before he forgets what he was even saying, not to mention half the stuff he says is complete b.s. I love watching just to making fun of him

Red And Yellow 01-03-2013 01:45 PM

Ray Lewis is a talker. He's a great motivator, just stellar, I sense less intelligent speaking, IE a Tom Jackson, and more a Herm Edwards motivational speaker type.

:Lin:

Not that I watch ESPN anyway, but I imagine I'll catch him in passing and want to puke my guts up.

crossbow 01-03-2013 02:19 PM

He can cover the homicides at strip clubs. He sure has the experience for a job like that.

movinbones 01-03-2013 04:04 PM

D Coordinator?

BlackHelicopters 01-03-2013 05:26 PM

Never paid attention. Can the dude put together a complete sentence? Or is he just a butcher of the English language?
