If that rumor about Lovie Smith is true, I'd rather have him than Rob even though it would mean we would have to switch to the 4-3 which I don't want to do.

He seems to be cursed as a DC. His teams never make the playoffs.

For the record, I couldn't get an ounce of confirmation that the Chiefs are interested in Lovie.

He's never been a good HC and Romeo is a better DC than him.

I don't see any other media reporting this....

He just doesn't seem to have "it" when it comes to coordinating a defense.

That's just what we need. After years of too much ego at Arrowhead they finally clean house... so let's go hire one of the Ryan's. And not even the one that's had a lot of success coordinating a defense, let's go get the other one.

So first response is, yikes! But just spitballing an idea here. Were those games lost because of defense or lack of offense. Oakland, Cleveland and Dallas. I'm thinking off the top of my head, was romo and Garrett offenses the last two years the best offenses for Ryan's defenses?

Ryan sucked in Dallas. The Cowboys "weak link" was supposedly their secondary, so Jones signed Carr and drafted the highest rated "safe" corner in LSU's Morris Claiborne.

The result was that Dallas gave up even more points than the previous year.

Some of the best defensive teams in NFL history have had shit QB play. I don't buy that argument.

I want an attacking defensive coordinator. These players are all made to play downhill and dictate the tempo of the game and forcing bad decisions.

I want no part of Kiffen or Rob Ryan because neither is aggressive enough.

Horseshit! The Cowboys put up over 23ppg which was 15th both years. That is not even in the same universe as the Chiefs 13ppg (31st & 32nd). Ryan fielded a below average defense with an average offense.

Lovie Smith is #1 on my list if he cant find a HC gig.

Even before he got to Dallas I always thought Rob Ryan was the perfect Cowboy: Overrated. And beyond that, overrated based on things he hadn't even done.

Does that take into account special teams scoring and offensive turnovers for scores?

As far as I know, it's just defensive points only.

Regardless, the defense definitely took a step back after adding two highly sought after cornerbacks, which I'm sure played a major role into why he was fired.

That defense has a lot of talent.
