From Carl through Scott

what is the best Chiefs lineup we can field? I'm bored.

QB: Joe Montana
QB2: Trent Green
RB: Priest Holmes
RB2: Jamaal Charles
FB: Tony Richardson
WR: Derrick Alexander
WR: Dwayne Bowe
WR: Eddie Kennison
TE: Tony Gonzalez
TE2: Keith Cash
LT: Willie Roaf
LG: Brian Waters
C: Casey Weigmann (?)
RG: Will Shields
RT: John Tait (?)

Hootie 01-12-2013 02:27 PM

I'll probably **** up defense...should we do a 4-3 or 3-4? Probably a 4-3.

I'll leave that up to someone a little older than me and remembers the vaunted 90s defenses.

BigMeatballDave 01-12-2013 02:28 PM

I'd put JC above Priest.

Loved PH, but he didn't have elite speed.

Jewish Rabbi 01-12-2013 02:30 PM

Tony Richardson instead of Kimble Anders?

candyman 01-12-2013 02:33 PM

I'd take Jamaal #1 over Priest. Can you imagine what Jamaal would do behind Roaf, Shields, Wiegmann, Waters, and Tate?

In58men 01-12-2013 02:34 PM

TE #2

Ted ****ing Popson

LOL It would almost be unfair.

Ecto-I 01-12-2013 02:35 PM

I would replace John Tait with John Alt (did he play right tackle too?)

My memory is so so, but off the top of my head I'd say:

DE: Neil Smith
DT: Joe Phillips (?)
DT: Dan Williams? (There has to be someone better)
DE: Jared Allen
OLB: Tamba Hali
MLB: Derek Johnson
MLB: Marvcus Patton (?)
OLB: Derrick Thomas
CB: Dale Carter (or Brandon Flowers?)
CB: James Hasty
Nickle: Mighty Mouse
S: Mark Collins
S: Jerome Woods (or Eric Berry?)

Hammock Parties 01-12-2013 02:35 PM

Szott over Waters, please.

Rasputin 01-12-2013 02:36 PM

Stephone Paige > Eddie Kenison

I think Stephone was inherited for the Carl era.

Dwane Bowe I'd put him on the team.

suzzer99 01-12-2013 02:37 PM

Donnie Edwards over Marvcus. Saleamua over Dan Williams. Flowers over Carter.

Did Carl have to draft or trade for them? If not then you can add Derron Cherry and Albert Lewis

ST kick/punt returner Dante Hall

chiefzilla1501 01-12-2013 02:41 PM

Kimble Anders over T-Rich?

Considering you have 15 starters on offense, you might as well go with a 4-3 AND a 3-4.

Rasputin 01-12-2013 02:47 PM

OP

TE2 Jason DUNN best blocking TE I had ever seen.

Yes. Loved Kimble but Tony was nasty.

Hootie 01-12-2013 02:53 PM

I agree, I can't believe I forgot Tony Richardson.

Ecto-I 01-12-2013 02:54 PM

Even though he never played for the Chiefs, Mike Peterson should be on that list simple for all the hoopla that was happening on the old KC Star board when he was drafted.

Hoover 01-12-2013 02:55 PM

T-Rich > Kimble
Popson >Keith Cash
Szott > Waters
Alt > Tait

Hammock Parties 01-12-2013 02:55 PM

Not a single Pioli player. LMAO

Mosbonian 01-12-2013 02:55 PM

Sorry but if you are going for CB/Safety i would go with Kevin Ross over anyone you have there.

Hoover 01-12-2013 02:55 PM

Actually, Jason Dunn deserves to be TE2

Thig Lyfe 01-12-2013 02:56 PM

Tyler Thigpen, obviously.

In fairness, we need to wait and see on guys like Eric Berry and Justin Houston.

but yeah

Rasputin 01-12-2013 03:08 PM

I have always wondered how good he or how much better we would have been if Percy Snow had not wreck his moped and injuring his knee to never fully recover.

BlackHelicopters 01-12-2013 03:13 PM

The lack of Jon Baldwin and DMC on this list is obviously an oversight, and frankly a travesty.

Schottenheimer

Haley
Crennel
Reid

Derron Cherry

Deron Cherry was signed as an undrafted punter in 1981 and Albert Lewis was drafted in the 3 round back in 1983.

I'd put Nick Lowery over Stoyanovich.

Kerberos 01-12-2013 04:20 PM

That list is NO WHERE complete without Percy Snow.

Lowery never had any game winning field goals.

1989, he had a chance to win the Cleveland game twice but missed both attempts (once in regulation and once in overtime). Had he made either, the Chiefs would have qualified for the playoffs.

And blame rookie Dave Szott all you want but Lowery should have been able to hit a 42 yarder in the 1990 Miami playoff game, giving the Chiefs their first playoff win in 20 years.

It's really unfortunate that he had that scooter incident. He was playing really well late his rookie year and had an opportunity to become a great player.

Oh, that's right. Overtime game, IIRC?

But he definitely blew the other two.

Dude was an absolute monster at the college level. Huge and nasty.

One of only three players to have ever won both the Butkus and Lombardi trophies. (Kuechly and Te'o).

Oh, and I'd have Dino Hackett as a LB on the defensive side.

crossbow 01-12-2013 05:01 PM

Glenn Cadrez for Derrick Thomas....lol. I remember him chasing Sharp and losing ground until Sharp scored after building a 15 yard lead.

You forgot the Chiefs Steelers OT playoff game...Nick had a chance to win the game at the end of regulation but missed and gave the Steelers another chance in OT...thank goodness the Chiefs won in spite of Nick.

Was Montana better than Green in their time here? That's a tough call.

Joe did beat the Steelers and Oilers in the playoffs, and Trent never one a playoff game. Shame that **** nugget Johnnie Morton couldn't catch a ball in that playoff game, or else the story may have been how Green outdueled Peyton Manning. Sean LaChapelle, too.
