My SO's mother is ill

I know my wife will hate that I posted this, but I believe in the power of prayer. So please, if you feel so inclined, say a prayer for my MIL who has been diagnosed with cancer. She has an appointment at KU Med Center today. I'm assuming then we will find out how bad and what's the prognosis.

ChiTown 01-17-2013 10:42 AM

Done. My best to your Wife and Family

Mr. Flopnuts 01-17-2013 10:42 AM

I've got an Aunt I just found out was diagnosed with Lung Cancer, and I'm supposed to keep it to myself. But I also believe in the power of prayer. I didn't want to start a thread, but this one popped up, so here I am. Please. Pray for them both.

Today I'm burying my grandpa he lost his battle with cancer Sunday morning. He's in a better place now and doesn't have to feel the pain anymore.

Prayers for Flopnuts and Lzen

Very sorry to hear that....

Mr. Flopnuts 01-17-2013 10:51 AM

I'll be 36 in April. I have 4 Grandparents, 2 parents, and 5 Aunts and Uncles. All I have left is 2 Aunts and an Uncle, and one of my Aunts was just diagnosed with cancer, the other one raised me and has diabetes. They're dropping like flies, and while I've always handled death better than a lot of people, it's really starting to get at me. I'm so tired of losing people. :deevee:

Mr. Plow 01-17-2013 11:13 AM

Prayers out for you both Lzen & Flop.

Man, this makes me mad. You guys have something real and serious going on and stupid Teo just makes something up and makes a mockery of this kind of situation.

Sweet Daddy Hate 01-17-2013 02:02 PM

Done.

Unfortunately, that time of life starts to hit everyone around that age. Just remember the good times and remember that the time comes for everyone.

My niece's boyfriend just underwent a bone marrow transplant at KU.

Best wishes for you and yours.

Demonpenz 01-17-2013 03:11 PM

Prayers go up. Blessings come down.

Fat Elvis 01-17-2013 03:12 PM

Prayers work. And with the advances being made in oncology today, a positive diagnosis is no longer a certain death sentence. Keep a positive attitude, be aggressive in treatment and keep praying. My wife was diagnosed with cancer the day after Valentines last year and she is doing fine this year. It was a long year. It was a scary year. But she is still here, and she is cancer free.

Don't lose hope.

May God bless both LZEN's and Mr. Flopnuts' families.

BTW, I would like to once again thank folks on the Planet who prayed for my wife and family.

whoman69 01-17-2013 03:25 PM

It worked for my dad. Prayers for your mom as well.

Lzen 01-18-2013 09:16 AM

Thank you, everyone for the prayers and well wishes. After the visit yesterday, we feel a little better about her chances. They have a treatment plan in place and assuming all goes according to plan, she should beat this thing. Of course, I know things can change. But we're keeping a positive outlook.
