Buck 01-21-2013 12:05 AM

**** this.

BossChief 01-21-2013 12:05 AM

Geno Smith on the new hot group already?

Chiefspants 01-21-2013 12:05 AM

I would add an "Emerging" category, and place Luck, Wilson, Newton, Ryan and Griffin III in that category.

Smith probably shouldn't be in the picture at this time either.

Hammock Parties 01-21-2013 12:07 AM

9th circle of hell
Matt Cassel

He's a juggernaut.

The Geno Smith ballwashing on this board is getting ****ing ridiculous.

Did no one see him shrivel up in every meaningful game he played in. . . only to be followed up by his childish tirades on the sideline. I do think we should find a quarterback at 1, but calling Geno smith as "emerging" is simply laughable.

Hammock Parties 01-21-2013 12:08 AM

Josh Freeman, Jay Cutler and Andy Dalton need to go in here somewhere.

Cutler is in limbo. Freeman, Dalton and Newton should all go in the same category.

BossChief 01-21-2013 12:10 AM

I must have missed it.

Where is Stanzi on this list?

You are so quick to forget his performances from the rest of the year, and last year. The guy shredded the top defenses in college football last year. His team ****ing blew donkey balls this year.

That's funny. I don't remember "shriveling" up in the Orange Bowl against Clemson, which is the biggest game of his career to this point.

I'll take any of those guys on my team right now above Manning, Brady, and Brees. A couple may not make it in the long run, but its all about the future and those guys have a really good shot. They're hot.

Which QB do you take then?

Cmd'r&Chief 01-21-2013 12:13 AM

Where's Brady Quinn?

I agree with Cutler in the limbo category.

Newton has clear talent, he just has a shitty surrounding cast.

Dalton and Freeman are still footnotes.

I almost made a similar post, this playoffs may mark a new era in the NFL.

I'd include Andy Dalton somewhere on that list for now. Especially if you're going to include Newton.

Jimmya 01-21-2013 06:06 AM

Genoa Smith on this list is laughable!

CoMoChief 01-21-2013 06:59 AM

It's gonna be hilarious to watch this place melt the **** down when we choose Joeckel and not Geno Smith.

Disagree about Brees. The NFL had hand in his demise this year. The other two have no such excuse.

Seanathon 01-21-2013 08:29 AM

Brees threw for 5k yards and over 40tds for the 2nd year in a row. I don't think there is a whole lot more he could have done statistically to save his team from the NFL cutting his team in half.

MagicHef 01-21-2013 08:37 AM

Here' s the same list:

Young

Youngish

Not Young

Rivers

I don't know how Manning is fading when he just had the second best season of his career, and has a good shot at winning MVP.

R8RFAN 01-21-2013 08:38 AM

Geno is going to be a rookie PROJECT

Geno Smith, Matt Ryan, Cam Newton, RGIII are not Hot in anyway.
Geno well he hasn't played shit.
Matt Ryan just got beat but has to have all world talent around him to get there.
Cam is meh. Flashes maybe but not hot.
RGIII is broken. Both knees have just had procedures one of the knees this is the 2cd surgery on the same ligament. He will be sidelined for a year so he is definately not hot.

cdcox 01-21-2013 09:50 AM

In terms of future SB wins, I'll take the new hot group over still hot, limbo, fading, and not combined.

BigMeatballDave 01-21-2013 09:54 AM

I don't think Brees is done just yet.

A year? No, I bet he begins the season on time.

Well you are giving yourself twice as many opportunities to get those SB wins.

We shall see. AP and so on have set the bar high. Remember this happened to him after the regular season. The surgery normally requires 12 to 18 month recovery. It isn't just one knee it is both and it is a repeat on one of the ligaments.

I wouldn't put Geno Smith or Cam Newton in the 'hot' section.

No, it's the same knee. Just one.

I don't know about 2 ligaments, but one ACL is 9 months.

AP returned in less than a yr after 2 tears.

We'll see.

What?! Cam Newton was supposedly the best rookie QB ever to grace the NFL after last season. Now he's not even in the 'hot' section. Say it ain't so.

Just yesterday, Peyton's Princess declared Kaepernick UNSTOPPABLE and assured me that he is going to revolutionize the game as we know it. I immediately rushed out and ordered my Kaepernick jersey so I could be just like the cool kids. And now you seem to be suggesting that defenses may adjust to Kaepernick's style of play and he might not be Elway, Montana, Brady, and Manning all rolled into one after only eight games started in his career. Say it isn't so!

Geno Smith shouldn't be in any of those sections. He hasn't played a down yet.

Inclusion of Geno Smith was for comedic effect.

In terms of SB47, I will place a bet that one of the new hot QBs wins the Lombardi over any of the other groups. Who will take that bet?
