Falcons cut Turner and Abraham

Adam Schefter ‏@AdamSchefter

Major moves in ATL: Falcons are releasing CB Dunta Robinson, RB Michael Turner and DE John Abraham today.

Mother****erJones 03-01-2013 08:25 AM

Wouldnt mind Tuner as back up to Charles.

suds79 03-01-2013 08:25 AM

And they just got a lot better getting rid of Turner. That guy is done.

Old, used up power backs are the worse.

Hell no. He's done.

The Bad Guy 03-01-2013 08:27 AM

I think Dunta Robinson would be a great fit next to Flowers.

durtyrute 03-01-2013 08:27 AM

We need a CB, quick, let's give them 3 picks. We are teh smart

I've always liked Dunta.

Id rather Steven Jackson....but that guy probably wants to be a starter still. Ive never liked Turners lack of speed.

ChiefAshhole20 03-01-2013 08:35 AM

Robinson could be a solid #2, but he's getting up there in age, and I've always thought he'd be better at safety just because of his style of play.

Reerun_KC 03-01-2013 08:36 AM

We are bottom feeding failing franchise. Bring them in for a look. One teams washed out trash is our treasure.

Sounds like Jones and Hillis, this just might work..

O.city 03-01-2013 08:38 AM

Dunta sucks

Mother****erJones 03-01-2013 08:53 AM

Robinson is 31 years old no thanks. Id rather take Milliner number 1 than sign a 31 year old corner who isnt shut down. There's better options

'Hamas' Jenkins 03-01-2013 08:56 AM

If we start going after guys like Robinson and Steven Jackson we'll know that this regime is in full win-now mode.

uh oh...isnt this what Reid did his last few years in Philly?

tyton75 03-01-2013 09:30 AM

Sign Dunta and put him next to Berry.. I think that'd be a better fit at this point in his career

Dunta is solid. Only knock I have on him is he has a bad habit of putting his head down to blow someone up, and then miss.

DT

He's lost a step (or two) since his injury. He's never been the same player since.

BossChief 03-01-2013 09:37 AM

Did some of you even watch Atlanta last year?
Robinson and Turner are done.

rico 03-01-2013 09:57 AM

mcaj22 03-01-2013 10:07 AM

NO!

I will not be able to stand the backlash in the form of people laughing at me.

Setsuna 03-01-2013 10:40 AM

YEEEAAAHHHH. EXPLOSION OF YOUTH!!!!! I've been preaching this to the Jags forum forever. Yet those ingrates are too scared because many of those vets are the best we have. Who gives a crap! Youth!!!

Direckshun 03-01-2013 10:44 AM

Nobody mentioning Abraham?

Why are they letting Abraham go?

$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Abraham was due $3.25 million in base salary in 2013

At age 34, he led the team with 10 sacks but had to cut back on his snaps in a bid to stay healthy. He wasn't much of a factor in the playoffs after injuring his left ankle in the final regular-season game.

Cephalic Trauma 03-01-2013 11:36 AM

$?

3.25 million isn't that much, even for a nickel CB.

mcaj22 03-01-2013 11:42 AM

it's still a lot of money for a team that spends a lot and can now shift towards signing one of Brent Grimes + William Moore and then using the franchise tag on the other

essentially locking up both, their biggest priority along with Tony G

They're not using the franchise tag.

crossbow 03-01-2013 11:45 AM

Damnit, they didn't give us a chance to trade our entire future away for washed up players.

Frosty 03-01-2013 11:45 AM

Abraham is their only pass rusher. They must plan on going heavy in that route in FA and the draft.

All three are done. Robinson might be okay for vet min as a nickle. Atl will definitely re-sign Grimes now.

BlackHelicopters 03-01-2013 12:16 PM

Washed up players are just what we need. Print ' em

Setsuna 03-01-2013 01:03 PM

If they let go of Abraham then they are trading up. They have to. Which means....get er done Jags!!!
