Who cooks in your house?

It appears there are several cooks on this site.

I'm curious. Who does the majority of cooking in your house?

And more importantly... who cleans up?

BlackHelicopters 03-02-2013 03:38 PM

Chef from South Park.

TribalElder 03-02-2013 03:48 PM

Unless its BBQ my lady does all the cooking

mlyonsd 03-02-2013 03:52 PM

Weekdays I do all the cooking because I get home first.

Weekends we both cook. She's more on the dessert side and I do most of the main dishes.

KurtCobain 03-02-2013 03:52 PM

I can make some crazy things out of top taken but besides that its the 1800pizza option.

GloryDayz 03-02-2013 03:59 PM

I went with "together" but that's not fair either... I do 99% of the grilling, and there's not much I won't grill. She does cook, but it's usually more like those time-saving skillet meals. She's one who want to go from start to eating in 15 minutes; I'm more of the thought that anything that's made in 15 minutes is going to kill you...

What I will "bitch' about it the cleaning. If she cooks, because she cooked (!!!), I clean. when I cook, I clean because I made the mess! I'm pussy whipped without the getting laid part!

2nd. With the exception of taco night, I like my shells fried and she won't do it, so I have to fry them myself.

Mr. Flopnuts 03-02-2013 04:44 PM

I cook, she cleans. That's the deal and we both are happy with the arrangement. She can't cook worth a shit, and I'm too lazy to **** with the rest of that bullshit.

threebag 03-02-2013 04:47 PM

I eat out a lot. If I eat at home I cook.

DaFace 03-02-2013 05:16 PM

You need some poll lessons. I voted the "female" option since it's my wife who does most of the cooking and there bizarrely wasn't an option for that.

Sorry. Yeah, all polls are perfect. I should have put an option for... me/my xyz spoon-feeds me. If there was any other option I'd bitch...

hometeam 03-02-2013 05:42 PM

I cook pretty much everything. My fiance is starting to learn though, and I use her as an assistant more and more/ I like to try and spend time with her in the kitchen teaching and getting in some us time at the same time.

Ace Gunner 03-02-2013 06:01 PM

I'm eating teriyaki beef and some chinese broccoli in oyster sauce over rice leftovers.

lewdog 03-02-2013 07:31 PM

Give or take here but I say 60% me, 40% her. And I usually get stuck with the dishes. :(

In58men 03-02-2013 07:33 PM

Definitely me, she doesn't go near my pots and pans I'll stab her in the face

Frosty 03-02-2013 07:50 PM

My wife does most of the prep no matter who does the cooking but it's about 65/35 (her to me) doing the actual cooking.

Phobia 03-02-2013 07:52 PM

I cook 95% of it and they clean 100% of it. I don't clean anything but my knives. Don't like it? Cook your own damn meal.

plbrdude 03-02-2013 08:25 PM

i hit the together button but that's not really 100% accurate. there are somethings i will cook, but my wife does do most of the cooking, but i do all of the grilling. and there are the occasions that we really do cook together

DaKCMan AP 03-02-2013 09:04 PM

Single, so I do everything.

Whenever I get married my ideal arrangement would be that I cook and I don't mind cleaning the kitchen/dishes. However, I hate doing laundry, vacuuming, and dusting so she can handle that shit.

NewChief 03-02-2013 09:14 PM

I do all the cooking. My wife bakes on occasions such as holidays and birthdays.

Jenson71 03-02-2013 09:20 PM

I cook breakfast every morning. That's about all the cooking I do, but it is said to be the most important meal of the day.

Possibly morons. But it was a cover up, a chiefs tat is waaay better than the name of his highschool girlfriend he hasn't seen in years.

Would have got a bad ass sleeve instead of that shit.

And on topic I do most of the time, just depends.

FlaChief58 03-02-2013 09:24 PM

I do most of the cooking, we share the cleaning up duties

This sums up our household arrangement. The result is that we eat well and the kitchen is clean. Win, win.

Made hot legs this afternoon, two packages of leg quarters Hyvee @ $1.19 a pound, chopped it for separate legs and thighs, put In a double freezer bag with Aldi hot sauce and Sweet Baby Ray's hot and spicy bbq sauce. Rolled around to cover, marinate 30 min, cooked 350 for 90 min.

= hot wings with a lot more meat and the fact that wings run about $2.69 a pound.

Wings are ungodly expensive right now. It's unbelievable. We can usually boneless/skinless chicken breasts cheaper than wings.

MOhillbilly 03-02-2013 09:55 PM

My wife can cook.

I just meant that BLSL breast used to be the most expensive way to buy chicken and now it seems like one of the cheaper when you factor in the weight of the bones. Even drumsticks are expensive if you can't catch a sale.

tooge 03-02-2013 10:17 PM

I do 95% of the cooking. She usually cleans up but I'm a clean as I go guy so there isn't much.

We do "chopped" tv show nights at our house about two times a month. I'll pick out three or four secret ingredients and sort of offer up ideas and help with technique and flavor with my kids meals. It's alot of fun. Huge mess, but fun. Usually the food They end up with is tastuy

TrebMaxx 03-02-2013 11:51 PM

My wife used to be the primary cook (except bbq) but when I lost my job I started to cook. It hasn't changed since I found work. I enjoy cooking now. She helps out with the clean up and every once in a while she cooks a meal. It works out well.

That's a fun family idea. I'm gonna steal it for family night.

melbar 03-03-2013 02:07 AM

I learned long ago if I want to eat nearly as well as o was raised with, I better learn to cook! My wife however, is the type that is happy to fold a piece of bread and some peanut butter and call it good. So ya, its all me!

BWillie 03-03-2013 04:59 AM

I have never cooked anything for like 4 years. That's women's work

Ugly Duck 03-03-2013 07:10 AM

On our wedding day my wife confessed her secret to me: "I hate to cook and I'm not going to do it any more."

I thought she was just kidding. That was 19 years ago.

EagleRob 03-03-2013 07:14 AM

I prefer to do as much of the cooking as I can. My wife is the type that thinks that all meals should be cooked in the simplest manner available - so crock pot or microwave. She's always on the lookout for the ultimate casserole or one pan meal. To me thats a digestive nightmare. She doesn't understand that most meats were not meant to be slow cooked and that the microwave destroys food. So I cook most weekend meals and any meal I can make after or before work.

The Iron Chief 03-03-2013 07:43 AM

Well I was a Chef in many private restaurants before becoming a manager at Red lobster.
However my wife graduated from culinary school & managed many restaurants as well including TGIF for many yrs, that said we play in the kitchen together usually with a couple of bottles of wine by our side.

So we share the duty.

I should mention my wife was raised 100% Italian so her giving me space in the kitchen with her is considered an honor...sigh.
I cant name any of her relatives that would allow the husband to step one toe into the kitchen area much less make a peanut butter & jelly sandwich.

Chief77 03-03-2013 08:04 AM

I usually do all the cooking myself. The wife likes to cook some of her special meals on occasion. I like to play music and dance around when I cook, so my kids like to come and watch and join in too.

Mr_Tomahawk 03-03-2013 08:20 AM

Me.

The wife tries...

memyselfI 03-03-2013 08:25 AM

Coffee has not kicked in. The hubby does 90% of the cooking. He's a fabulous cook and not just grilling. I pitch in. I voted the other way around.

Red Dawg 03-03-2013 08:27 AM

The ole lady cooks obviously. What country do you think this is?

bevischief 03-03-2013 08:51 AM

I cook inside and out and my wife bakes.

Ha! No, I'm the ADDer in the relationship. I can't stand in one room long enough to cook something elaborate. If it takes longer than 15 minutes to prepare and set the timer then I'm not interested. He loves to cook and could spend hours perfecting dishes. I think he missed his calling in life. I am the baker in the house.

Pablo 03-03-2013 11:49 AM

She cooks the meals during the week since I get home a bit later. I usually clean up. Sometimes she does. On the weekends I prefer to do the cooking.

Fire Me Boy! 03-03-2013 12:01 PM

Usually me. Wife bakes. She's starting to cook a bit more since the new year.
