When do they get announced ?

Im thinking that may end up gettin 3. A 3rd for Carr and 7th for Richardson and maybe a 3rd for McClain. Not sure if qualifies for free agents that you sign.

Compensatory picks are just a myth created by Goodell to keep draftniks slobbering. Not reality.

Why would we get a 3rd rd pick for McClain?

At the owners meetings later this month I believe...

I thought the highest possible was a 4th...

We will find out this week at Owners meetings. I think KC gets a 3rd and a 6th.

I did a break down but cant find the thread. I see a 3rd 6th and 7th for us.

Probably a 6th for mcclain and a 7th for orton.

We aren't getting anything for McClain.

Last time me and bigrock broke it down we would get 2 picks, a third rounder being one of them.

How do you come to 3 picks?

It has to do with how many "qualifying free agents" you signed and lost.

A qualifying free agent is one that their contract runs out and the player is signed somewhere else.

The quality of the draft pick given is based on playing time and contract amount.

Because Mcclain was the starting FB for the Chargers.

Idk if Orton will get us anything.

McClain gets us shit awful year and didn't sign for big money

We're sure as **** not getting any next year.

We need to go back to the tried and true method of largely ignoring free agency and building through the draft.

Ravens will get a handful of late-round comp picks. Texans, Chiefs and Titans should get third round picks.

I like what we're doing. You can't just use one method you have to use everything at your disposal.

Signing a solid mixture of low and mid level picks to prevent huge talent holes is a good move. It's those blockbuster deals that don't pan out that hurt...

This years FA actually worked out to our advantage. There were a lot of players out there that were supposed to be getting huge deals. That didn't happen and we ended up getting some good players for pretty cheap.

The biggest win was not losing any of our quality players. Not a single loss that makes fans throw $3it at the tv. This allows us to actually build in the draft and FA instead of having to fill holes with those moves...

Should get a 3rd for Carr.

Could get a late-round pick for Orton, depending on whether certain guys count in the formula. I think Barry Richardson is the guy we hope counts.

Could get a 7th rounder just depending on how many comp picks are awarded. Because if they don't give out a certain number, they start at the top of the draft order and just hand out picks until it reaches that certain number.

If there are not enough awarded, then we should get a 7th rounder just to fill out that certain number since we are drafting at the top, no?

Bet the Chiefs don't get a 3rd for Carr. Bet it's lower.

He signed a 50 million dollar contract and played every game.

That means we get the high tier pick for him. Should be pick 97.

Re: Carr, it's hard to say anything is guaranteed when the formula isn't explicity known, but it would be an enormous shock if we didn't get a 3rd round pick.
