Adam Schefter ‏@AdamSchefter

Chiefs are in pursuit of Dolphins free-agent CB Sean Smith, and clearly Kansas City is a viable option for him.

boom

OrtonsPiercedTaint 03-14-2013 11:28 AM

I still want to see Schefter slowly spontaneously combust on air.

The Poz 03-14-2013 11:33 AM

Adam Schefter ‏@AdamSchefter
If Denver has Wes Welker, Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker, would make sense for KC to have Sean Smith, Dunta Robinson and Brandon Flowers.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Chiefs are in pursuit of free agent Sean Smith, and Kansas City is "clearly" a viable landing spot.Smith was expected to be perhaps the hottest free agent on the market when Tuesday's signing period opened, but that turned out not to be the case. Despite the signing of Dunta Robinson, the Chiefs have been lurking on Smith all along. The 49ers and Eagles are already believed to have dropped out of the running. Smith would make a formidable bookend for Brandon Flowers in Kansas City. Mar 14 - 1:22 PMSource: Adam Schefter on Twitter

Strongside 03-14-2013 11:37 AM

He's young and talented. Could definitely make up for us letting Carr walk.

The Poz 03-14-2013 11:38 AM

Apparently he started off really strong but got lit up towards the end of the season.

penbrook 03-14-2013 11:39 AM

Sean Smith a very physical corner who is a beast within 10 yards.

However he can get beat on double moves. He is athletic but is average with his speed.

I think he can absolutely thrive here because he will be the #2 corner and not the #1 as he was in Miami.

Dayze 03-14-2013 11:41 AM

amazing how the new regime recognizes where we need help and depth.

the previous would just sit tight on FAs until around June.

every position they've signed has been to upgrade our turd positions.

Emailed source at lunch and asked if Cassel release was made to sign someone else.

Got a quick email back saying that they could have held Cassel until draft and that they were close with someone.

I followed up with Sean Smith and was told to connect the dots.

Looks good.

BigCatDaddy 03-14-2013 11:46 AM

Great.. another Pat Dennis.

oldandslow 03-14-2013 11:46 AM

I know most everyone on this board thinks Reid/Dorsey are evil incarnate...

but this, so far, has been the best free agency periods for the Chiefs since free agency started...

Remember Peterson waiting on the second waive?

Or Pioli picking fruit from the "tree."

This has been a breath of fresh air. Period.

Great , we just picked up the one CB that lead the league in giving up most TDs and 1st downs combined!

Why is this a good thing.

Then here is my question....and it's an honest one.

If you're drafting strictly BPA....which Dorsey said that they do.......

What happens when Geno Smith is your BPA and you can't trade down?
