I've been a homer of battlefield since bf 1942. But idk if I will be getting this one. it looks just like 3.

I play the shit out of BF3 but will probably wait a bit for BF4 to drop in price when it comes out because I'm not convinced its a whole lot better then 3 and there is still a ton of DLC maps on BF3 I need to mess with

I have 3 BF2 accounts, 3 BF3 accounts, 2 of which are premium, so I love the BF series, but this does not excite me.

Picking up BF4 at launch for the XB1...can't wait. Moving over full time from COD, 64 players on a console will be nuts and the MP gameplay looks more in tune with what I want.

Yea, I just read that once the XBOX 1 is released you'll be able to seamlessly transfer your 360 profile (stats and everything) over to the new platform.

And like you mention 64 person games will be introduced.

That will never happen. These brand new consoles coming out are using 2011 hardware, I believe.

There's a reason why they cost half to a third of the price of building a decent to top of the line gaming PC, they use half to a third of the hardware.

Not to mention gaming on a PC is just plain better. It's more controlled and, personally, I enjoy the games available better like MMO's and dota.

Consoles are good for 1 thing, playing with multiple friends on a big screen, but honestly... who the **** has xbox/ps parties anymore?

Both Xbone and PS4 will be run on the same AMD APU.

An APU is like a CPU and GPU (graphics processor) in one.

The AMD APU they are both using is a known POS compared to a standalone CPU/GPU combo of even previous gen hardware. In fact, in the PC gaming world, the PS4/Xbone hardware announcement was met with a resounding MEH.

I've seriously thought of investing in a gaming only computer. but, I just don't think I'm ready. I suppose I could hook up my big screen to it.

That depends entirely upon what type of games you play. If all you do is play Madden then ya, the console community will obviously be bigger. However, if you play RTS/RPG games then PC is going to take that crown. FPS? Meh, that reign ended long ago and its pretty much dead across the board. It's fun for about a month before you realize its the same shit with different skins.

And, while I'm thinking of it, I might just continue to play BF3 for quite a while as I'm sure most of the hackers/cheats/boosters will move on to BF4. I took a 5 month hiatus from BF3 because of people shooting me through walls. I even spawned and simply laid down in a building, and got killed within a minute by a sniper a mile away.

but even after hopping back on, it was still a little ridiculous. Not 'as' bad, but still enough to make me put it down again.

Just clarifying but PS4 will also have 64 players and will run at 60fps.

I never really got into Battlefield but if there is a multiplayer demo available in the PS store I might wind up buying BF4.

As far as the processors being slightly different you are correct, and the ps will use ddr5.

They still will have far less power than a budget gaming PC which can be built for only a hundred or two more, and if you wanted to build a system with comparable power you can pick through a dustbin and get some previous gen crap for the same amount of money.

That being said, nothing wrong with either system, but the assertion that it will 'kill PC gaming' and the like is utterly laughable.

Ya 60 fps is cute. My pc rig runs bf3 at 190 fps on low res bout 90 fps in ultra graphics the battlefield games are built for pc then scaled down for console .

Hell I just love the argument that PC gaming is dead every year.. PC gaming won.. Your consoles are PCs now.. The only difference is most of the people dont want the stigma so they chime about their consoles being superior when they are oblivious to the truth..

If you only knew how much more fun PCs are with the customization's.. Almost everything cool now on consoles was cool 5 to 10 years ago on PC games.. mmo's, multiplayer, customization, skins, voice, 64player, 128player, dlc.. Thanks to the PC gamers..

You do not need a new mid range though. I am still playing pc games on my 06machine thatcompares to console graphics. A smart person can get in to pc gaming very cheap. Sure you can blow 2 to 5k easily, but it is not needed. You just have to know how to shop.

So I played this all weekend on "high" settings (ultra was shit), and my rig is old, but decent. The game runs like complete crap. Its fun, but I have no idea how this is going to look on the xbone or ps4. They wont sacrifice framerate for eye candy so my guess is that it will look like crap and run good. Hopefully they drop some patches to clean it up a bit.

Lolz My gaming PC cost me $550(almost 3 years ago)...it's a 2nd generation I7, Asus 7770 video card(2 gb ddr5), 12 gb ddr3 ram.. 120 gb ssd hd. Runs most everything 1920x1080 full speed max settings. My biggest problem? too many games to play. LMAO ya it's a dead scene.

Playing it on the PC until Xbone1 is out. Game runs a lot smoother than the beta.. a lot of fun.

Bf3 was good, but I didn't get 1/10th the hours out of it that I did bf2, and bf4 just looks like bf3 DLC.

This shit gets annoying.. I have a perfectly compatible PC to run BF4... but with games like these --- You chose the system where you have the most buddies to play with... In my case, PS3... and also, I much prefer couch gaming.

And before you tell me about big picture mode, I know -- been in the beta for over a year...

I see what you are getting at, though regardless of friends I would never subject myself to playing an FPS with a controller over mouse and keyboard. GTA V is bad enough that I have pretty much given up on it because of console limitations even though it's a great game.

Shit, from what I am reading most games digitally downloaded are going to be 30-50gb of download, man what does that sound like?? Consoles died when they had to give up on cartridges.

I seem to keep landing on teams with tons of roof campers and we get destroyed in Conquest.

I happened to jump out of a helo and land on a roof and 6 assholes were up there and none of them were snipers. I looked across the way and saw other assholes on other roofs nearby.

EDIT: For what it's worth, I'm really only interested in Domination because I heard it's infantry only. Is the gunplay good in this game? I really didn't like how the guns "felt" in BF3 but maybe the higher frame rate will make the gunplay feel more rewarding??? I dunno, I'm just kind of on the fence about buying this game.

I heard it is the exact same experience as BF3, it is not like cod, I mean you can shotty with slugs, but it is more realistic than cod.

If you didnt like bf3, I do not think you will like this one.

The things that turned me off most with BF3 were the massive maps, the campers and the vehicles. All of the BF4 Domination videos I've seen don't seem to have any of that, there will always be campers, but it seems like there aren't as many of them in the Domination vids I've seen.

That depends on the gametype. Maps are still massive depending on the game you are playing. Dom should be fine, but you will always have campers, the vehicles are for the big maps.

If you literally just stick to the one game type you should be fine outside of campers, but driving vehicles is fun for me. I do not think I will ever be good at piloting.

This was on sale at the P.S. Store over the weekend for 23 bucks. I'm stuck between games waiting for Watch Dogs so I decided to give it a shot.

It's the first FPS I've bought in years and so far, pretty impressive.

Naval Strike is still lagging for me. Anyone else having this issue. Every 2-3 seconds the screen clips and skips. So annoying

Use the search options to find Asian servers. I'll occasionally just do the quick match option which probably puts me in North American servers and it lags terribly. The Asian servers might lag 5% of the time.

And I ****ing love this expansion. It is by far the best one yet.

Yeah the maps look awesome. I get extremely frustrated when I know I should be kicking ass at my typical level and the shit starts lagging. I'll try Asia, thanks.
