Let's do it.
Next year should be fun! |
When are the possible recruits suppose to announce where they are headed?
|
Can you put a "Not Returning" player section on there with only Elijah Johnson on it?
|
I already miss Travis and Jeff.

Yeah...
Joel is raw, but is said to have a ceiling higher than Cole. |

Enough about last year's roster...let's talk about the future. ;)
Go here if you want to talk about the 2012-13 squad: http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showt...65263&page=438 |
Perry is going to be a force next year.
|
The good news is will be talented. The bad news is we will be very, very, very young with only one scholly junior and senior (next years the one and doners and transfers are biting KU in the rear-end). Best case scenerio KU gets a 10 or 11 seed in the NCAA w/o having to play in Dayton. More likely KU plays in the first four or the NIT. KU will be next year's Texas or Kentucky.
But, oh it would have been nice to remember a national title when I see all of those court stormings that I am afraid I am going to see after several KU road games next year. |
This was a great class of seniors, but one of them had to **** it up for the rest of them.

I'd like to see an apology from Prison Bitch & Como in regards to Ellis. |

I believe Landon Lucas will be a RS Freshman not a sophomore next year.
|
It wont happen, ever nor do i think he should. But PLEASE COME BACK BEN

Maybe I'm just upset, but I think the conference title streak ended this year. I know the recruits coming in are going to be good, I just don't know if they'll be good enough to play D like Self wants. I hope I'm wrong.
Lineup? I say to start the season- PG - Tharpe SG - Selden SF - White PF - Ellis C/F - Traylor First off the bench Lucas Adams Greene Self trusts experience. There isn't much returning, but I think before the pups like Frankamp and Embiid break the lineup, theyll have to prove it before having it just handed to them. |
I just want some F'IN SHOOTERS!!!! I'm tired of cringing every time a shot goes up.

I wouldn't count on Ben coming back. He needs at least another year of school, but the NBA is going to throw money at him that will save his family. He can't afford to pass that up.
|
Please post the 2014 recruits as well. Most of the 5 star guys have KU at the top of their list.

I'd keep McLemore on that returning list for now. Some weird rumblings coming out of the postgame.

A lot of people in this thread doubting self's ability to coach a young team to the best of their ability.
Those of you saying we won't win 10...who will win the league next year? |

Blake Griffin came back for a second year. I think he's doing okay in the NBA last time I checked.

They're going to be really good in 2-3 years. |

I'm ready. Next year should be fun. Let's see what these young kids are made of.
Time to win ten! Rock Chalk. |
Going to have good talent but it might be a long year strictly due to the Defense we lose in Withey and Releford. Tharpe and Ellis will not ever be elite defenders. Hopefully Lucas, Embiid, and Selden will be our defensive stoppers. Were gonna miss the seniors much more than most ppl realize
|
Traylor is a dark horse for defensive presence. Kid has a knack for blocks.

The loss of Withey will be felt massively. He pretty much singlehandedly made KU a national title contender over the last two years. Self's teams are known for their defense, of course, so I'm sure they'll still be fine in that area. But having a dependable defensive center that is able to cover up for everyone else's mistakes like they've had with Withey for 2 years (and Aldrich before him for 2 years) is invaluable. Everybody else is going to have to just pick up the defensive intensity even more to make up for it.

I fear for him, I really do. I don't think he'll make it past the D-League and I'm just not sure what will happen past that point. He is not right in the head. |
He played out of position all year. That's why he looked so bad at times. He never did before.

Gonna miss Withey a lot. He was a game changer...a shot changer for sure. He made a team force shots from outside....you shoot from outside, it's less likely to go in. He was the main reason why this team led the nation in opp FG%...they couldn't go down low where there were higher % shots.
It's a god damn shame that EJ shit on this entire team. He makes that FT at the end and we're not even talking about this. Hopefully he sat on the plane alone all by himself in the back corner. |
Here's to an entire thread and season without Elijah Johnson in it.

He made mistakes and should shoulder the blame for the loss but I'm not going to hate on Elijah. He's a Jayhawk. It's too easy nowadays to say someone sucks or call him names and forget the good stuff he did. He laid an egg this year. He's one of the main reasons we were in the title game last year. Call it a wash.

EJ may have been frustrating, but he was a game-changer. That's not KU basketball, to be so dependent on one guy to make or break your team. At least not the good KU squads. |
I know Embiid is a little raw. But he's a legit 7 ft right?
Right now is he more of a polished defender or offensive post presence? |
Get this EJ shit out of this thread

I'm a little scared of our perimeter D with Tharpe being our PG1. |

I think I would disagree about his minutes though. I bet he plays plenty. Our frontcourt depth next year isn't the greatest - Ellis, Lucas, Greene, Wesley, Embiid, Traylor. Is there anyone else I am missing? |

The good news is we gain something by ridding ourselves of that human head lice EJ. |
