Dwayne Bowe: I'm going to lead the league in Receptions and TDs
Dwayne Bowe: I’m going to lead league in catches and touchdowns
Posted by Josh Alper on May 15, 2013, 4:22 PM EDT The Chiefs have made several moves to bolster the league’s lowest-scoring offense and one holdover from that team believes the payoff will be a handsome one for him and one of his teammates. Wide receiver Dwayne Bowe thinks that he’ll benefit from quarterback Alex Smith’s arrival and he thinks running back Jamaal Charles is going to find a lot of success running behind an offensive line that has added Eric Fisher at right tackle. (Jamaal Charles) is going to lead the league in rushing this year and I’m going to lead the league in receptions and touchdowns,” Bowe said, via Adam Teicher of the Kansas City Star. “When we get in full gear and pads and close to the season, it’s going to be a show to watch.” There’s a good chance that winds up as an overly optimistic prediction, but Bowe has every reason to be excited about the changes to the offense in Kansas City this season. Smith is the best quarterback he’s played with in the NFL and Bowe should be an excellent fit in Andy Reid’s offensive scheme. That might explain why General Manager John Dorsey said he thought Bowe was poised to become one of the best receivers in the league. That leap would be plenty for Bowe next season, even if someone else winds up with more catches and/or touchdowns. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...nd-touchdowns/ |

good, he should have them goals! thats how you become great expect alot.
|
|
The full interview is hilarious to listen to. You can tell the new regime is allowing Bowe to be looser and more Bowe-like when he speaks to the media.
|
Is he going to throw it & catch it too?
|
Get ya popcorn ready muzafukas!!
|
Just in time for me to start getting ready for fantasy too...
|
Was he talking about Madden?
|
If this happens, I will buy an Alex Smith jersey.

It's not likely he'll do it, but I certainly love the enthusiasm. |

Unfortunately this rarely ends well.
It's generally better to do these things first and then brag about it. Although I'd be excited after getting rid of Matt Cassel, too. Even if it is just Alex Smith. |

I would not be surprised to see Bowe put up close to a 1000 yards, but with fewer receptions than he had last season.
I think Jamaal will approach 2500 total yards in rushing and receiving, but I don't think he'll lead the league in rushing. |
Seems like these type of statements tend to go quite poorly in terms of panning out.
|
Well he did lead the league in TD's among WR's in 2010 when he had 15 from Matt Cassel, so it's not like he's never done this before.
I like his confidence. |

Players coming off 2-14 seasons need to show it on the field before they start making insane statements. If he said this as a fun joke, then disregard my bitching. |

you shouldn't virtually each and every time a team starts talking shit it turns out badly |

Dream Team!!

I'm not sure what he was supposed to say - I guess nothing at all may have been alright.
I appreciate his enthusiasm and look forward to Bowe beast mode this year. |

If you get the ball to Dwayne Bowe accurately and in space, he could very well lead the league in YAC.

Chris "C2K" Johnson says hello.
|
Did I miss something? Did the Chiefs sign a new QB and not tell us?

One player is. A WR. Par for the course. |
Not sure what the big deal is. I'm sure Bowe thinks this every year, its just that for the first time in four years, he won't get in trouble for opening his mouth.
|
Good. He is clearly fired up and excited over the new regime, and the new QB. That's what I want out of my star players. I want them excited, and hungry, and ready to go prove it. It's infectious, and outstanding for the entire locker room. This is nothing but good IMO.
|
LOL...I guess he deserves to actually get drafted in a FF league now. That bitch is like hooker in my leagues...you can pick him up anytime. hahaha

Say what you want about Alex Smith, but he's better than Cassel, Quinn, Thigpen, Croyle, and Huard. That's pretty much the list of QB's Bowe has played with right? I mean stale bread tastes pretty good if you haven't had a meal in 10 days. I'm not surprised he's excited. He should probably temper them though. It's the KC tight ends who should be celebrating. |
Bowe: 11 catches 200 yds 2 TDs opening day against JAX. Bowe's going to feast on them

I wonder if he has heard the Chiefs traded for Alex Smith? |
If he can get 15 TDs with Cassel, he can do it with Smith
|
Show me. Then I will get excited.
|
Another interesting thing Bowe said today
Danny Parkins @DannyParkins Dwayne Bowe on Alex Smith: "From watching Steve Young back in the day, he's that kind of quarterback." |
ROFL Bowe be trippin'

Not really very far fetched. Bowe and Charles are the only weapons on offense, so they should get a lot of touches.

I heard a clip on 610 today of him. He was talking to a female reporter (Karen Kornacki, I assume.) and referred to Andy Reid as "Big Red".
She asked who came up with that nickname, and he said, "I just made it up for you, mama." It was hilarious. Bowe was feeling his oats today. |
A lot of ****ers on this board are really going to have to eat huge helpings of crow this year...

"The Show" is back...love the enthusiasm and **** Scooter for sucking the life out of this team. If nothing else it'll be fun to be a fan again.

Bowe and Hali need their own weekly radio show together. They seem to be opposites, that just may work well against each other.
|
I like it!
Matt Cassel was awful so I'm sure any change makes him feel like he can conquer the World. Here's hoping he's right! |
Never going to happen with 17td max per year Alex Smith.
|
Aaaand Alex Smith tears his ACL on the 2nd play from scrimmage.
|
Did anyone inform Bowe that Alex Smith is our QB?

he pointed at his jersey once, and wants to be the highest paid WR in the cosmos...cut him

All this from a guy who called Matt C. a "great quarterback" during the media session.

Receptions? Ehhhhhhhhhhh
TDs? |

Yeah, Bowe is going to lead the league in receptions and TDs; I think that is actually a distinct possibility with an accurate and cerebral QB under center. Jamaal leading the league in rushing? Sure, why not? He will have a monster line in front of him and D's will have to respect our passing game giving him room to run. We're not just going to destroy people this year, we will break their will. |
Um, when did Reid acquire all this magic upside?

Well at least someone in KC likes Alex Smith.

Bowe might be 20th in yardage but he should have a shot at leading in receptions. |
Jamaal and Bowe still swingin the biggest most chocolatiest penises in the West.

I love how so many posters continue to shit all over Alex Smith, and while DBowe's prediction is a bit crazy considering the Chiefs record in previous years, its not out of reach.
A top five offensive line + Jamal Charles + the best QB we have had since Green = What? Bowe has never even played with just an adequate QB. Plus in the past couple of years Bowe was on the sideline a lot during drives for no apparent reason. I expect good things, and I want to see the DBowe show return to Arrowhead. |
