Ravens Unveil Super Bowl Ring

1 Attachment(s)
The Ravens have unveiled their new Super Bowl ring design.

Of course it's good to win the Super Bowl no matter what the ring looks like.

But not sure if I like it.

What do ya'll think?

When do the Chiefs get one?

This is the year. See you in NYC.

Gaudy... Liberace would have loved it.

Chief_For_Life58 06-08-2013 01:42 PM

ive seen better

Mr. Kotter 06-08-2013 01:44 PM

Pretty ugly, actually.

But, I'd take something as ugly for the Chiefs...ugly or not. :(

RINGLEADER 06-08-2013 01:55 PM

My favorite design is still the raiders white gold ring from their last Super Bowl win.

Chiefspants 06-08-2013 02:13 PM

If the rings were around the fingers of the Chiefs' team, I could not care less if they were a wadded up pieces of toilet paper featuring green and brown skid marks.

They are all gaudy as shit.

And how could you make a ring with a purple bird on it look good?

that's the third or fifth time that's word's been used on the first page

gaudy (adj.)
1. brilliantly or excessively showy
2. cheaply showy in a tasteless way; flashy
3. ostensibly ornamented; garish

seems to me, the term "gaudy" couldn't be a bigger compliment

what would all you complainers prefer SB rings to look like? humble? low key? modest?

it's the biggest game of the best sport on earth for ****'s sake, and everyone thinks the rings should be mediocre

mediocre rings should be reserved for mediocre teams

no wonder you're all Chiefs fans

That's kind of the point. They're not meant to be a pretty piece of jewelry, so there's no point in debating whether you "like it" or not. They're not meant to be pretty - they're meant to be expensive as hell.

To each their own. I have never been a "bling bling" kind of guy. If you like something like that, good for you. The gold chains and flashy rings just aren't my cup of tea.

The ones with simpler logos look better. That's why the Packers' and Saints' look good, and the Ravens' and Broncos' look like they were made by not particularly artistic children.

It's kind of a shame we'll never see a Chargers ring.

actually no, i hate them too. i find people into that sort of thing to be quite trite and superficial. in fact i haven't worn a piece of jewelry for going on a decade (even watches).

i'm of the opinion though that the Superbowl Ring (something EARNED, not bought) should be one of, if not the only exception. most anyone can buy status if they're so financially dedicated, few are talented enough to achieve it.

You got me curious so I went back and looked at all the rings. Wow, you wernt kidding about the Broncos rings. They're hideous.

Why in the world would they put Elway's head on those rings. Or is that supposed to be the donkey logo? Either way its ugly.

The flying Elvis logo isn't the most simple one and I think the Patriots first ring looks fine.

Jesus you're a ****ing moron. I enjoy wearing a nice watch from time to time and Tag watches are a good quality watch that looks nice. I don't announce to everyone that I'm wearing an expensive watch or talk about what I paid for it. So my wearing of said watch isn't for the sake of showing off.

If Joe Flacco wears his Super Bowl ring, is he wearing it for the sole purpose of showing off?

Bowser 06-08-2013 08:31 PM

Rain Man 06-08-2013 08:36 PM

I heard that they actually made the diamonds from the compressed ashes of third world children who starved to death. Regular diamonds weren't excessive enough.

Yeah, but the only shape they're making out of diamonds is basically a triangle. The colored glass (or whatever it is) is used for the complex shape.

what people wear on a given day makes a statement to others about themselves, whether they like or not.

that's a concept that's clearly over your head, so i won't waste my time explaining it

no it's not, unless the artist tries to sell reproductions

if it was, the CP logo at the top left of the screen would be copyright infringement too, and anything remotely resembling anything copyrighted material (which could be most anything) would be subject to lawsuits and it would be a never ending free for all.

someone can do an original painting of an actual Chiefs logo (with the K.C. and all) and sell it online, legally....though they would wise to stay off Etsy and sale sites which are checked by the NFL, Bogart Estate and other famous copyright nazis. the NFL wouldn't be able to do a cease and desist but they can force etsy to take it down. only once the artist makes reproductions of the logo does the NFL have the right to sue (and they will).

the CP logo has been changed enough that Austin Chief can not only copy and paste it all over the web without fear, he can even charge CP members (via "donations") for extra perks (i.e. give SPChief the right to slap someone with a demerit for filter evasion). he could never do that with the actual logo, hence why North America is in the middle and other embellishments have been made.

Having the talent to be in a job where one can afford to purchase the things they like is an accomplishment you mouth breather. There are several posters on CP who make a good living because they are talented and they have purchased expensive items with their earned income. Most of the time these purchases aren't to show off, but to make life more comfortable or fun.
