This could be amazing or completely horrible.

KC_Lee 06-19-2013 08:57 AM

I might have to block off some time to see this flick.

DMAC 06-19-2013 09:57 AM

I see them building this up like crazy.

keg in kc 06-19-2013 10:52 AM

This would be something I'd watch at 3 am on HBO but never admit to anyone that I had.

Now I'm going to have to abduct someone's 5 yr old kid so I can go watch that without looking creepy...

Legos are the best toys ever.

Sure-Oz 06-19-2013 08:50 PM

lol, interesting

Thig Lyfe 06-19-2013 08:54 PM

That trailer doesn't do a great job of making this seem like an actual movie.

Deberg_1990 06-19-2013 09:05 PM

My 11 and 9 year old kids will love it.

NewChief 06-19-2013 09:22 PM

I haven't watched trailer, but Lego s becoming a behemoth. Ninjago franchise was huge. They're gearing up with Chima. Then they have all their licensed stuff and games. I kind of object to Ninjago because they tried to bundle a CCG and a bey blade style spinning game into one. Doing the same with Chima. Just very gimicky and derivative.

And really the Ninjago spinning game sucks ass in comparison to bey blades

SLAG 06-19-2013 09:24 PM

I've seen at least 2 lego movies in 4d at LegoLand

I think it was two movies two times - that might be where I'm confused

lol

kc rush 06-20-2013 11:02 AM

My kids are stoked for this

Canofbier 06-20-2013 11:12 AM

Heh, looks like fun. I loved LEGOs as a kid and had mountains of them, so it makes me happy that they're still so popular.

lcarus 06-20-2013 11:14 AM

Does anyone remember those space station and space ship Lego sets back in the day? Those were quite spectacular.

I did not like those

I had the castle and police legos

Castle Legos were the best.

I have bought my kids a shitload of legos.

I should slow down. Part of the magic was saving 6months to a year of "allowance" to buy one set.

Easy to say, each set got a million miles put on it, but they were worth every penny.

This was my first truly badass set:

http://www.1000steine.com/brickset/images/6988-1.jpg

Loved that one. The flashing lights made the whole thing...

This is one that I still have put together in the basement:

http://en.bricker.ru/images/sets/5590_brickset.jpg?ds

I remember it being hard as hell when I was 9, but it has steerable front wheels and a badass helicopter on a trailer, so it's all good.

Buehler445 06-20-2013 04:08 PM

Blacktron? Fugg yeah!

You bitches are hitting my nostalgia hard.

The Franchise 06-20-2013 04:16 PM

I can remember when my parents bought me this for Christmas. It took for ****ing EVER to build.

Yup, I had a ton of those things.

The ones that had the 'legs', that massive sucker with the two detachable shuttle pods...all kinds of sweet legos.

I had some pretty sweet red and black ones as well (Tron, maybe?)

I never kept a dime of lawnmowing money, just more legos...

Your parents loved you more than mine did. Obviously.

Now I'm gonna root through to basement to see how many of them I can dig up when I get home. Thanks, dicks.

There's no way I'm gonna get any tonight when my wife comes home to my geeky ass playing with legos...

All space, all the time. I was the Michael Bay of the lego world.

"SPLOSIOS!!!!"

Canofbier 06-20-2013 04:28 PM

This was my favorite LEGO set by far:

http://en.bricker.ru/images/sets/6093_brickset.jpg

You could reconfigure it and the samurai/ninja in a million different ways, so it went about as far as your imagination could take you.

My parents still have my old castle set. My son loves to play with it when we go there more than any of his new sets.

Reaper16 06-20-2013 05:06 PM

Man, I loved LEGO. To say nothing of the actual blocks and the worlds I created with them, I loved to just look at the LEGO catalogs as a kid. My imagination would go off in a thousand directions looking at the pictures and models in those.

Forgot about the detachable ship with the little go-cart in the center capsule.

That one was always the flagship, if course...

DJ's left nut 06-21-2013 11:20 PM

And unfortunately I can never look in my lego boxes ever again. Or enter the storage room at all. I killed a brown recluse in the basement yesterday and those things scare the bejesus out of me.

So there will need to be large fires and many chemicals sprayed. Then and only then will I go into the unfinished space, drag the corpses of the dogs out of their kennels (because they sleep in there during the day) and make sure that the water heater has survived the blaze.

Then I'll wall the room off, never to return.

!@#$ing brown recluses...I hate those things.

It still is. :)

The worst part about building Blacktron was finding the black 1x2 slanted computer/button console pieces in a pile of what seemed like millions of pieces.
