Alex will need to be 100% on his game at that point. We don't have the weapons Romo does so don't expect to see guys running free in the secondary like we just did with Dez and Witten.

We play the Jags, take a bye week, get Von Miller back. The real problem with the D today was that they couldn't pressure Romo. Miller will provide that pressure. I hope you guys enjoyed the close game today. I know I did.

It was nice to see Trevathan redeem himself with a meaningful play. He's the guy that made the dumbass move of dropping a pick six before the end zone, giving the ball back to the other team on a touchback. Today he made the play of the game.

Because what they did today is representative of what they have done the rest of the season. They haven't given up over 30 points until today. They have averaged 313 ypg against the pass and have yet to allow any one opposing RB over 80 yards on the ground. And this is without V. Miler.

You are talking out of your rosebud.

That defense over the last 2 years has been exposed by good offenses.

It's a mediocre defense that benefits greatly from an offense that puts up 40 per game.

Ok. So your stand is that... **** the other 4 games. What we saw today from the Denver defense is what we should expect to be the norm from here forward. We can expect teams to hang 500 yards passing week in and week out on the Denver D because of what happened this ONE game... all othes be damned.

You lost the point of the whole damn thing so here it is again.

Chiefs rank #17 overall in offense while Denver ranks #25 after 5 games (without ATL having played which should really take them to #24). Pretty ****ing close.

I don't know why Chiefs fans are so excited about the way that Denver game went down. It's not like KC is capable of competing with Denver in that manner. Show me a game where that offense gets stopped, and I'll start getting excited. Because that's what KC will have to do to win.

Last yrs D held Manning to 19 in Arrowhead. Yes, they are better on offense this year it seems. The Chiefs D is a lot better this year.

It is possible.

New England with Gronkowski can stop that offense a few times, and that might be all it needs, because he completely changes the complexion of that offense. The Seahawks and Niners can stop that offense more than a few times.

Any defense that gives up 48 points and 500 yards of passing in a game has serious issues that aren't all that fixable.

He started to fold up a bit today after that pick. The play where grounding should have been called is a fair example. The pocket started to collapse and he shit himself instantly.

Mother****erJones 10-06-2013 06:36 PM

Denver's D given up 139 points to our 58. Wow. They will get Von back but who knows for how long

'Hamas' Jenkins 10-06-2013 06:37 PM

Track what the 2007 Patriots did on offense as the year progressed. It gets harder and harder to throw the ball exclusively. What is Denver going to do if they're playing a 10 degree game where the ball feels like lead shot? Manning isn't going to be able to sling it everywhere in that environment.

Denver is a one dimensional team. They do that one thing better than anyone does anything else, so they are still a favorite, but they aren't a juggernaut. They aren't even particularly close to one.

A lot of the big plays shouldn't have happened. With even moderate pressure Romo doesn't get those passes off. This game reminded me a bit of their playoff loss to the Ravens last year. Except that, at the very end, they did get pressure. In back to back plays Romo was sacked then hurried by pressure up the middle into a bad decision. So Our DC has some film to watch and work to do. The good news for us is that they pulled this one out, we play the Jags next, then get Von Miller back after a bye.
