Possibly the Worst Guitar Solo Ever Publicly Performed?

Some music club in Chicago. After a decent harmonica riff, some douche with a 30 foot long guitar chord cranks out a Nigel Tufnel influenced guitar solo -at the :45 sec mark.

Not only is this one of the most fetid, tone deaf solos ever, how can you **** up a solo in a standard blues shuffle? Jesus man, scales are your friend....

Also, notice the stunned silence in the audience after his solo. And the body language of his fellow band mates who would prefer to be shot dead than to perform with this guy. Priceless!

Is listening to this worth the risk of it getting stuck in my head?

I'm thinking..... NO. :harumph:

Can't happen.

It would be like getting a cat stuck in a blender in your head - there's just not enough rhythm to wedge itself in there.

Gravedigger 10-10-2013 06:15 PM

This had to be:

A. The bandmate saying "F You All!" Just shredding because he wanted to embarass the band, maybe even the lead singer because he goes right up to her and pretends to kiss her or share lyrics or something and she pushes him away.

B. He actually thinks he's a guitar player.

Even if this guy was a stand in, how the hell do you go on stage with him not knowing what he's going to do. Why didn't they cut his feed five seconds into it when it was clear how obnoxious he was being? If one of my bandmates did that back in college the other four of us would've kicked him out right then and there and spent the rest of the night apologizing to crowd for his dipshittery.

Demonpenz 10-10-2013 09:17 PM

I think it might be fake. He isn't even hitting the wrong notes clean.

Perhaps, but also, I just don't like listening to suck.

salame 10-10-2013 09:21 PM

does he hit up the whammy bar?

Fat Elvis 10-10-2013 09:38 PM

I don't play the guitar. In fact, I don't play any instrument. But periodically I have this dream where a band will ask me to get up on stage with them. It sounds bad, but not quite that bad.

cosmo20002 10-10-2013 09:49 PM

That's nothing. You can see worse at Guitar Center on a daily basis.

Kaepernick 10-10-2013 10:31 PM

Ha ha!

There used to be a snickers commercial "Ever want to get away"? That would be a good lead in for one of those.

Reminds me of "I guess you're not ready for that, but your kids are gonna love it."
