Incoming Free Agency Market: QBs
This will be part of an ongoing thing where I just spend a couple weeks previewing the incoming FA market at a position.
QB Derek Anderson UFA Carolina Panthers Free Agent QB Matt Cassel UFA Minnesota Vikings Free Agent QB Jimmy Clausen UFA Carolina Panthers Free Agent QB Kellen Clemens UFA St. Louis Rams Free Agent QB Jonathan Crompton RFA Washington Redskins Washington Redskins QB Matt Flynn UFA Green Bay Packers Free Agent QB Josh Freeman UFA Minnesota Vikings Free Agent QB Rex Grossman UFA Washington Redskins Free Agent QB Chad Henne UFA Jacksonville Jaguars Free Agent QB Shaun Hill UFA Detroit Lions Free Agent QB Tarvaris Jackson UFA Seattle Seahawks Free Agent QB Jon Kitna UFA Dallas Cowboys QB Josh McCown UFA Chicago Bears Free Agent QB Luke McCown UFA New Orleans Saints Free Agent QB Colt McCoy UFA San Francisco 49ers Free Agent QB Dan Orlovsky UFA Tampa Bay Buccaneers Free Agent QB Curtis Painter UFA New York Giants Free Agent QB Jordan Palmer UFA Detroit Lions Free Agent QB Matt Simms ERFA New York Jets Free Agent QB Rusty Smith UFA Tennessee Titans Free Agent QB Michael Vick UFA Philadelphia Eagles Free Agent QB Seneca Wallace UFA Green Bay Packers Free Agent QB Charlie Whitehurst UFA San Diego Chargers Free Agent QB Tyler Wilson UFA Tennessee Titans Free Agent We've got a connection with Vick.......... What do you guys think? Who piques thy interest? |
Dude really? I don't think QB is a position we are worried about...
|
Not a single one of them.
|
To be honest none of those available interest me.
|
Josh McCown
|
None of them interests me.
|
Why are you worried about QBs that's not an issue. Should be previewing the incoming Safety and WR free agents.
|
Alex Smith
Chase Daniel Tyler Bray |
None of these Qb's are worth a damn. Keep Smith around as he's showed he's more then a game manger. Just get rid of Daniel and use that money in the secondary
|
I was just re-watching the game, I think we have our QB.
|
Seriously, if given that list on paper, I wouldn't wipe my ass with it.
|
Smith/Daniel in 2014 may not be the conservative ticket we thought
|
We are not spending money on the QB position unless it's to extend Smith.
|

what you got in the way of WRs and Safties?? |

Smith deserves a extension period end of story

Daniel looked very serviceable as a backup, better than servicable
|
We have our QB.
/thread Alex was the man yesterday. I'm fine with him. |

Daniel shit his pants in the 2nd half against the Chargers, as backups always do. This team needs an upgrade. Bray may or may not be that guy. The Chiefs need to look long and hard at more QB talent to back up Smith. |

You need a backup that can keep the train going. |

McCown did yeoman's work throwing to Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery. Chase Daniel looked servicable throwing to Junior. Hemmingway and AJ Jenkins. Consider that, and tell me who actually showed more. |
Quote:
McCown over Daniel any day of the week. McCown knows better than to the flip the ball 10 yards over the line of scrimmage. |
Our Qbs are not the problem.
Dumb post. |
I heard that Matt Cassel is a pretty good player.

One season with superior weapons, and he is now suddenly a great backup. |

I'm sorry but there's no question Vick wants to play for Andy Reid.
If you can bring him in on a backup's dime, you bring him in. He's been a phenomenal teammate in Philadelphia. |
which one can call a defense?

QB was a glaring weakness, now it's the team's strength. Defense was the strength, and now it is a huge liability. |

I see no reason not to look at QBs, but FA isn't the place to be looking.
This team has Daniel and Bray as depth. Cut Daniel and draft someone to battle with Bray. Daniel wont be starting any time soon in KC and Smith is here for at least 1 more year, soon to be 4+ more years. |
I don't want to think about it.
Smith just played the best playoff game in Chiefs history and lost. I have nothing left in the tank when it comes to QB. |

Andy Reid wanted a guy who doesn't turn the ball over. |
Jake Locker after he gets cut.
|
What a huge list of fail.
|
We don't need a FA QB or any QB heading into the 2014 season. We're set with the three guys we have on the roster.
|
I'd like to trade Daniel. He put up a nice showing in SD. Surely we can rape somebody into giving us a 3rd.

we are set at QB.
We need receivers and safties/corners. |
Deal Daniel, sign Locker
Gain pick, save cap space. |

But hopefully they will draft one |

Vick, just for the lulz. Maybe we can run some wildcat with him.
|
isn't Kitna teaching HS math somewhere?
|
None of them look interesting to me. If they want to bring a rookie in to compete for the developmental spot (or to replace Bray or Daniel), I'll listen. But I'm not interested in a FA backup QB this off-season. Bigger fish to fry.
|
In the immortal words of Jeff Goldblum in "Jurassic Park": that's one big pile of shit.
It's debatable as to whether or not Alex Smith is a franchise QB, but he's certainly better than that list of backups and benchwarmers. |

Jimmy Clausen .
derp. admittedly, I was wanting the Chiefs to draft him. shit for brains. |
Cool! We can finally draft claussen!
/Mecca |
For once, QB is not a position of need.
I've used toilet paper that looks better than that list. |
A veteran starter, a veteran backup and a developmental project with upside... the last thing we need to spend more money or picks on is a QB.

We are set at QB
Starter upped his game when it really counted Backup proved himself capable Development QB in place. |

Now we have to see your Lame ****ing threads. **** you!

Browsing on mobile. Has anyone said we will probably get 2 2nds for Daniel yet? I love these threads

21/30 with a touchdown and 82.9 qbr isn't bad at all for a guys first start, he looked like a good fit for the WCO in my opinion. |
We are set at QB. We might draft one late but I bet we just sign a rookie free agent or something. They went out of their way to sign Chase McDaniels to a three year deal and he was signed early in free agency. They wanted him bad. As long as Bray isn't getting wasted and acting like a dumbass behind the scenes it's really not a priority.
We won't sign anyone worth a shit and it's the one position we definitely won't draft in the first round. |
Holy shit people are saying we aren't worried about qb. 4 weeks ago I would have said who are you and what have you done with the real chiefs planet? This is a testament to booger and Alice's showings the last two weeks well done boys.
|
|
I appreciate the effort Direkshun is putting into this and understand going position by position.
That said, I wouldn't do anything at QB in terms of FA's. |
