Seahawks have the best uniforms in the NFL.

Don't like the numbering style or color but overall it's a fairly good kit.

ThaVirus 01-19-2014 10:39 PM

Hate the blue but dat lime green doe? Pretty slick.

GordonGekko 01-19-2014 10:41 PM

I agree the Chiefs could use a face lift, but the helmet needs to stay the same.

Heck, it could do us some good the Buccaneers changed their outfit and then they won a Superbowl.

GoChargers 01-19-2014 10:42 PM

They do, but only because the Chargers refuse to wear powder blue full-time and the Rams and Bengals ditched their classic uniforms.

Eleazar 01-19-2014 10:42 PM

I don't think we need an update, personally. We actually just got a minor facelift, what, last year?

The all-red was pretty awesome, but the Chiefs look is dated and face it, we are not the Steelers with six Superbowls worth of history in our uniforms so changing is not that big of a deal.

Rasputin 01-19-2014 10:47 PM

Not when Chiefs wear red on red they don't.

-King- 01-19-2014 10:52 PM

They Bills do and it's not even close.

CoMoChief 01-19-2014 10:52 PM

Agreed.

I like the red pants thing we did vs Dallas. Been wanting them to do that for years.

Also like the carbon shading SEA has on their helmet. Wish the Chiefs had an alternative jersey.

GloryDayz 01-19-2014 10:52 PM

Not sure I like the Seattle uniforms the best, but I agree that the Chiefs should update their uniforms. But I think it needs to be the helmet too.

I know there's a lot of history in the Chiefs uniforms, but their history isn't what they want so perhaps blowing-up all of it might inspire the Chiefs players.

At this point anything is worth a try.

greatgooglymoogly 01-19-2014 10:53 PM

I wouldn't be opposed to designs that used gold more heavily. The black jerseys I see in stores look awful - it's a fad from 10-15 years ago that wore out its welcome quickly back then.

Every time I see those old Bengal pics I think of what was it, like 10-15 years straight drafting in the top 5 picks?

That was also the world's ugliest stadium, I went there a couple times (for baseball) and that place was putrid.

Sorry, I hate the Seahawks uniform. That lime green looks like something from an awful College or XFL team. One of the least traditional looks out there.
Simplicity is where it's at. 2 colors work best with simple streamlines and basic logo's.
I've always liked the Colts, Bears, Browns and Steelers.

I've always liked the Chiefs but modifications could really bring it to the next level. For me, if they loose the yellow all together and take out the "KC" from the helmet, making it a solid arrowhead. Also, similar what the Giants have is a metallic finish on their blue helmet. Imagine the red metallic helmet with a solid white arrowhead? That would be bad ass IMO.

Simply Red 01-20-2014 12:21 AM

I think the Brown's uniforms are very pretty.

Yep, and I didn't know the other 2 names they considered for their top choices were the Royals and the Mules.
(God, Mules would have been a terrible choice)

Read below - our original colors were going to be Columbia blue and Orange.
(Donkey's colors)
Bud Adams already selected
Columbia blue - which was the color of the Oilers, with
Scarlet Red. The league blocked our 1st choice because it was already claimed, and so Lamar selected Red and Gold. The Texans team color were Yellow and White, so while we are actually Red and Gold- I think it was a bit of a carryover from the Texans, as well as to differentiate from the 49ers color scheme.

Quote:

When the Texans began playing in 1960, the team's logo consisted of the state of Texas in white with a yellow star marking the location of the city of Dallas. Originally, Hunt chose Columbia blue and orange for the Texans' uniforms, but Bud Adams chose Columbia blue and scarlet for his Houston Oilers franchise.[68] Hunt reverted to red and gold for the Texans' uniforms, which even after the team relocated to Kansas City, remain as the franchise's colors to this day.[68]

The state of Texas on the team's helmet was replaced by an arrowhead design originally sketched by Lamar Hunt on a napkin.[68] Hunt's inspiration for the interlocking "KC" design was the "SF" inside of an oval on the San Francisco 49ers helmets.[68] Unlike the 49ers' logo, Kansas City’s overlapping initials appear inside a white arrowhead instead of an oval and are surrounded by a thin black outline.[68] From 1960 to 1973, the Chiefs had grey facemask bars on their helmets, but changed to white bars in 1974, making them one of the first teams in the NFL to use a non-gray facemask.[68]

The Chiefs' uniform design has essentially remained the same throughout the club's history.[68] It consists of a red helmet, and either red or white jerseys with the opposite color numbers and names.[68] White pants were used with both jerseys from 1960 to 1967 and 1989 to 1999.[68] Beginning in 2009, during the Pioli/Haley era, the team has alternated between white and red pants for road games during the season. Prior to September 15, 2013, the Chiefs always wore white pants with their red jerseys. The Chiefs have never worn an alternate jersey in a game, although custom jerseys are sold for retail.

The Chiefs wore their white jerseys with white pants at home for the 2006 season opener against the Cincinnati Bengals. The logic behind the uniform selection that day was that the Bengals would be forced to wear their black uniforms on a day that forecasted for steamy temperatures.[69] The only other time the Chiefs wore white at home was throughout the 1980 season under Marv Levy.

In 2007, the Kansas City Chiefs honored Lamar Hunt and the AFL with a special patch.[70] It features the AFL's logo from the 1960s with Hunt's "LH" initials inside the football.[70] In 2008, the patch became permanently affixed to the left chest of both Kansas City's home and away jerseys.[70]

In select games for the 2009 season, the Chiefs—as well as the other founding teams of the American Football League—wore "throwback" uniforms to celebrate the AFL's 50th anniversary and the 1962 Dallas Texans team that won the AFL Championship.[71]

For the first time in team history, the Chiefs wore their red jersey with red pants forming an all red combo in their home opener against the Dallas Cowboys on September 15, 2013.

The only change I would make to the helmet would be to include the team name CHIEFS on the back edge of the helmet like most teams do. Ours is just a big blank space and it looks odd. The rest of the uniform is pretty cool and I never want the arrowhead changed.

Teams that went to SB fairly recently after uniform change:

St. Louis
New England
Denver
Seattle
Tampa Bay
Baltimore (Team moved, changes uni/name/mascot)
Tennessee (Team moved, changes uni/name/mascot)

This is just off the top of my head. I could see where you wouldn't count Balt. and Tenn. since they moved. I do think the Chiefs need to change it up a bit, since the legacy we have in our current uni is of losing.

Dayze 01-20-2014 08:53 AM

Best:
Seahawks
Bills
Chargers (powder blues)
Raiders (...yeah, I know.
Lions (the new ones)

I agree, metal flake would be nice. And I'd be fine with a major Logo change on the helmet too. Drop the "KC" part (Everybody knows where they're from) and alter the logo to something with the arrowhead and something that says "Indian Chief". I'd say a feather, but the Redskins already have that and I don't want the team to look like a copy-cat, but a full head dress might work. Something along the lines of:

http://thumbs.dreamstime.com/z/nativ...l-30770823.jpg

I don't know, but I do know that I'm ready to let somebody start from scratch, lose the "KC" letters, and incorporate something that says "Chief" too.

Dayze 01-20-2014 09:26 AM

Me too

Simplicity 01-20-2014 09:44 AM

I agree with Dayz. Our uniform needs to start from scratch... Our history in our "traditional" uniforms sucks... WE WON 1 SUPERBOWL and HAVEN'T won a playoff game in 20 years. We need to just start over, deff with the direction we're heading in with our re-amped team... Perfect time to do so.

Simplicity 01-20-2014 09:50 AM
