PAIN to the donkeys

ClevelandBronco 01-20-2014 11:39 AM

Broncos 31, Seahawks 24

Mile High Mania 01-20-2014 11:40 AM

Broncos 27 / Seahawks 20

Seahawks get their first Superbowl trophy.

OrtonsPiercedTaint 01-20-2014 11:41 AM

Have the refs been announced
The Seahawks losing another Super Bowl because of the refs may just be the start of WWIII

Is there a Marv Levy Trophy now?

Rausch 01-20-2014 11:48 AM

The Seahawks offense has been sub-par lately but I think that's the one defense that can punk Payed-a-ton...

Probably should be...

Mr. Plow 01-20-2014 11:48 AM

I'm going with Broncos.

Eleazar 01-20-2014 11:49 AM

Seattle doesn't get to play this one at home... that, and the fact that the better QBed team usually wins in the NFL anymore... I don't see anything but the Donks winning it

KCFaninSEA 01-20-2014 11:49 AM

Anybody but the Donks. F**k I hate them.

OrtonsPiercedTaint 01-20-2014 11:50 AM

There is also the chance the weather will be 10 degrees on the 1st & 3rd of feb. Then 70 and sunny on the 2nd

Rain Man 01-20-2014 11:52 AM

There is no way the Broncos lose. It's too important to the NFL.

Nah. It's a no lose situation.

If Seattle wins they get to talk about the new breed (mobile) of QB's in the NFL and the death of the pocket passer...

Tribal Warfare 01-20-2014 11:59 AM

The Denver Mannings the refs will give him every opportunity to win this game.

Do you still think Elway was a good quarterback? Do you hope that Manning performs as well in the Super Bowl as Elway did?

I'm trying to teach you. If you're going to be a football fan, you need to learn about the game and how it works. Stick close to me and watch.

Yes I still know that Elway was a great QB. You never responded to me pointing out that your numbers were wrong about Elway in another thread.

Dan Patrick just last week stated that he believes Elway was the greatest QB ever, I think you need to show him your compelling Bleacher Report evidence. ROFL

Mile High Mania 01-20-2014 01:42 PM

If the weather is crap and the winds are significant, then advantage SEA.

If the weather is just tolerable, have to expect it being very cold, then Denver can win. Denver has to contain Lynch which isn't impossible, they have an average passing game. Points won't come easy with either team.

GoChargers 01-20-2014 01:43 PM

Seahawks 30, Donkeys 23, with Fivehead throwing the game-losing pick six and retiring as a choke artist.

Chiefspants 01-20-2014 01:44 PM

I've accepted the Broncos super bowl win long ago.

Prove me wrong, Seahawks.

23-20 Seattle. Denver w all their weapons only scored 24 and 26 against two teams that the 3rd place team in Seattles division is better than

Bowser 01-20-2014 01:47 PM

I want Seattle to win it, but Denver is just too strong. That offense under Manning is literally unlike anything we've seen in the NFL, ever.

cosmo20002 01-20-2014 01:48 PM

Regarding the "NFL needs Manning to win" sentiment--Why do they need him to win?

The ads are already sold. Nothing to gain there. As far as his impact on the ratings, that's based on him simply playing in the game. Whether he's on the winning side when the clock hits 0:00 isn't going to make a difference on what the game ratings were.

Frankly, the logic goes that Peyton may retire (or be more likely to retire) if he wins. Surely, the NFL would like to have him back for another season or more. Overall, the NFL probably benefits more if he loses than wins.

Your numbers are wrong. How does 300 TDs and 226 INTs translate to 16 TDs a year and 17 INTs a year?

I'll tell what I'd take, a winner, which John Elway certainly was. I don't expect you to recognize that, you are a Chiefs fan after all.
Yeah, no wrong numbers there. ROFL

Manning is playing entirely too well to retire after this year, although with a win I could see him going out on top.

The donkeys win and Manning pulls an Elway and wins next year and retires.

First ten years, I said. Look at his first ten years, and you'll see 158 TDs and 157 Ints. (I inadvertently added a few more Ints to account for his Super Bowl appearances, I guess.) Once they converted him to a game manager and put a 2,000 yard rusher behind him his numbers went up.

The truth of the matter is that Elway could not carry a team. Terrell Davis could carry a team, and he made the quarterback look better. He elevated Elway's game from mediocre to pretty good.

I don't blame you for your misperceptions. I feel bad when I see the horror in your eyes. I blame the NFL for deciding that they had to make a #1 pick into a legend just because he could throw the ball hard. They didn't just fool you - they fooled most of an entire generation. Now the historians like myself must debunk the myth and re-introduce the facts.

His first ten years he took 3 teams to the SB while throwing to the likes of Mark Jackson, Ricky Natiel, and Van Johnson and handing the ball off to Sammy Winder and Bobby Humphries.

Saying John Elway could not carry a team is arguably the most ignorant football opinion in the history of football opinions.

I do. They all strangely have an asterisk as part of their last names.

Did I win?

Man, I reeeeeeaally want the Seahawks to win. But it just feels like Denver's year.

Vomit and fart noise.

Good thing you didn't hiccup at the same time, you'd die.

It's probably your computer. Try turning it off and then back on.

The Broncos QBs are the ones who played on teams that violated the salary cap during their championship seasons?

I think Seattle is the better team, especially if they do get to him, but the NFL is on a mission this season to get Manning ring #2. A call here, a non-call there (especially on a pick play) should do the trick.

All Seattle has to do is knock the stupid horse off Manning's helmet and that should slow them down enough. Id hit that **** every play that I could, nothing illegal, but definitely let him know its gonna be a long day. Id also blow up every pick play the same way. Seattle has the players, and especially the mind set to do it.

I predict there will be at least 3 more prediction threads created before the game.

Everything you described is illegal now. You're not allowed to hit the quarterback and you're not allowed to hit receivers. You're allowed to gently drag receivers to the ground after they've been given ample opportunity to catch the ball, and you are only allowed to grab the quarterback around the waist.

Definitely. His competitive nature won't allow him to quit while he can clearly play with the best of them.

The other challenge now is that quarterbacks have no natural life span. They take very few hits and they make a ton of money, so they might as well play until their arm falls off. I think we could have 45 year-old quarterbacks in the league at some point.

BigMeatballDave 01-20-2014 04:30 PM

34 - 20 Seattle.

Seattle's D is just too talented.

This.

Pocket passers are protected.

Say it 1,000x in your mind. Imbed it.

Manning runs an offense that he designs, allows him to throw 5-15 yard passes all game long, and the NFL rules back him (for that matter, any QB.)

There is absolutely no reason for Manning to retire.

Win or lose...

This is more like what I'm thinking as well. I think this game Denver runs into the wrong team, one that can punch them in the mouth and keep it coming. I think Seattle wins the battle of the trenches on both sides of the ball and that makes it a long day for the Donx. If the refs throw out the Manning Doctrine and actually let them play and call a fair game, I have no doubt Seattle will win.

It will be a battle, but I don't think SEA has 34 in them... Both teams score in the 20's. I think both teams will struggle to establish the run, adv Denver. Add in crap weather and it's a coin flip.

Should be a great battle.

Pepe Silvia 01-20-2014 06:32 PM

Denver wins 27-10. Seattle doesn't have the offense to match up and Manning will neutralize their pass rush, he's too damn good.

Yeah, his main claim to fame is that he had the best game of any QB in the Super Bowl based on QB rating. Now, you might prefer Steve Young's six TD passes, but Simms had the best game based on rating.

Why Not? 01-20-2014 09:03 PM

I don't get some of these predictions? Denver, who couldn't score more than 26 against crap defenses in 60 degree weather at home, is going to lay 27+ on Seattle's D in 25 degree weather? You guys want to lay any action on that?

There's two weeks until the game. I'll take the over.

This is my prediction before seeing the weather report or referee's assigned to the game:

Seahawks offense SUCKS.

Denver wins 38-17

If there is strong winds and refs that let them play, I say it's Seattle 17 Denver 16.

Red Dawg 01-20-2014 09:31 PM

Seattle defense will smash the soft Denver offense. Thomas and company hate contact and will get bugged by it all night. Wind will be heavy in NY this ruining the air attack and no way they will run all over Seattle. Meanwhile the soft shitty Denver defense will get killed all night by Lynch. No way Donkeys beat a physically superior team like Seattle.

I hope you are right, but how the refs call the game has everything to do with the outcome.

If it is windy, Denver is ****ed.

will they ever call that pick play?
more D backs need to run through them
it'll make the Wr less likely to get into their way

Lets get some D back into the NFL
