WR Lance Moore or Darren Sproles?
 

@AdamSchefter: Saints shopping RB Pierre Thomas and WR Lance Moore to other teams, per sources, and even could be open to trading RB Darren Sproles also.

I'd like sproles.

Sproles is perfect for this offense.

Seems like yesterday Sproles was running over, around and through OU for a Big XII championship. He's going to be in his 10th year. Seems like a good fit. But... He's got some miles on him now. Oh **** it. C'mon home, DS!

I think with Brees and Paytons system there, alot of their skill positions are interchangeable. they have shifted alot of players in and out there and gotten production.

Sproles is worth no higher than a 5th or McCluster straight up.

They have to still make about 10 million in cap space just to be able to sign their draft picks and be under the cap after tagging Graham.

I bet they release both guys by the end of the weekend.

I'd be willing to give Sproles a 2 year deal worth 5-7 million total, which is probably close to what he will get in FA I'd imagine.

This team desperately needs playmakers and while Sproles isn't the game breaker he once was and is on the wrong side of 30, the guy still has enough ability to force teams to put a good defender on him to keep him covered.

Bring Sproles home.

Sproles actually fills a great need as both our 3rd running back and return man. He'd allow us to focus our WR search on a guy whose contribution is purely on offense. It opens it up to a guy like Jordan Matthews, who would never replace McCluster, but could be nails opposite Bowe.

On second thought, Sproles sounds intriguing, he IS just the kinda pass catching squirty little guy Reid loves... but considering his production down there he's going to command way too much money for his part time role here.

For the sake of corp symmetry, I'd rather split the difference between Charles and Davis, someone around 210-215 with some hands/speed similarities to Charles and some of Davis' size.

He's intriguing but not worth the jack.

I'm surprised nobody has any interest in Moore given our shitty WR corps and the fact that he's a good little player.

Too many other more exciting options out there this year.

Looking for one big impact, not some decent guy.

With Reid's penchant for using backs in the passing game, Sproles makes a lot of sense if he's cost effective.

I understand that, but I'm just as big on eliminating weak spots as getting impact players. Bad players can cause you to lose games in the same way good ones can cause you to win.

As far as I'm concerned we should be looking to pretty much blow up the WR corps and go at it again. That's JMO, he is as you describe..a solid player. Nothing more. Plus he's 30 and it's raining WR's this off-season.

I didn't want to trade for him but if Sproles wants to sign here for a reasonable price as a FA it could work out.

Davis is a power back now? He's not even proven he can hold on to the ball yet. I want a bruiser that can get us the 3rd shorts that have haunted KC for years.

A) younger age
B) his production is ascending

where as Sproles has neither of those going for him, and experts think his skills are diminishing (same with Devin Hester).

We already have Sproles. I like Lance Moore. Or any other WR on that team.

Gimme Moore, he has great hands. Doesn't have the straight line speed Reid typically prefers in a guy that size, but he can separate with good route-running.

Hell no to Sproles. What I seen of the guy last year he was avoiding contact. Runs out of bounds downfield untouched when he could get 5 more yards. As for him running back kickoffs and punts you really want a punch drunk old back doing that?

The time to have gotten Sproles was 10 years ago in the draft so we could be releasing him now before he declines further.

Never a fan of taking wrs who come from an elite qb.

It would only make sense to snag Moore we need more competition at WR.

Sproles and Charles in the backfield together on passing downs could create some problems.

Sproles last year, 220 rush yds, 71 rec/604 yds, 4 TDs

need someone. whether it's in the draft or a FA. davis is more than likely not gonna be ready to go at the beginning of the season.

I'd only take Sproles if they release him. Too expensive under his current contract. An incentive laced contract for him would give us a solid backfield.

Sproles makes more guys miss in 2 games than Dex does in an entire season.

Sproles can actually be productive as a backup RB while Dex is largely ignored by defenses when he lines up in the backfield.

Dex is a jitterbug WR, Sproles is a 3rd down RB
